Hi, Good evening
Have a nice journey
It's my dream to be fly attendance
I get up at 5.30 am every morning because I‘m a teacher and like to be in school at least forty minutes before the pupils arrive. But this morning I woke up at 3am and couldn’t fall asleep again. So I got up at four and thought „ so this is what it‘s like to be a flight attendant“!
My mom is a teacher and I believe that’s around the time she’s up too, you guys work an under appreciated job. THANK YOU for what you do!
@@JettingJulia Awww, that‘s so kind. And I think your job is so tough!
How funny was I carrying that shoe? 👟
Was that you saying 'Good Morning' to Mom?
So cute ☺️
I have been working in retail for 20 years now. I currently work for Costco. My regular schedule is 5am to 1:30pm everyday. But when we have corporate people visiting , I am asked if I can come in at 2am. It is hard work. But I am treated really well , the pay is great and the benefits are amazing!
I am so glad to hear Costco treats you well despite it being hard work. We love shopping at Costco! The employees are always awesome
Aw look at Luna getting up in the middle of the night to bring you a shoe! So cute!
Loved the reflection of your hand in the glass.
Yes, I'm a volunteer firefighter. So you never know when the pager is going to drop. Many calls occur overnight and into the early mornings
Oh wow I can only imagine, thank you for your service and everything you do!
Oh my gosh! That is an early wake up!
At least Luna came to say goodbye before you left. Such a sweetheart. 🌸💗🐾
It was the earliest wake up I think I’ve ever had! 😴 but yes it was so sweet having Luna come say hi before I left 🐶 thanks for watching!
@@JettingJuliai love watching your flight attendant vlogs on your UA-cam channel how does it feel to be a philly based flight attendant I would love to meet you and take a picture together
I used to be a cook in the US ARMY. Ihad to get up at 3am to start cooking breakfast for that morning!
My job in OTR trucking delivering Walmart loads frequently requires me to wake up between 1am and 3am. It can be dangerous because fatigue related truck crashes are still a big problem today. The distribution facility will very frequently order too many truck deliveries, so we have to stay awake to "wait for a door" to back our trucks in. Once we're finally in a door, we can unhook from our trailers and sleep for 2-3 more hours, but it's almost always still not enough to make up for the loss.
U could never be a truck driver😂
Waking in the middle of the night for early morning flights, I totally understand the feeling. Being in the consulting industry, there has been many instances where I had to wake up in the middle of the night to head to the airport, mostly when dealing with international flights back to the US. Fortunately for me, I get to recuperate on my sleep once the plane is up in the air. And I have to admit, those flatbed seats on larger aircrafts have been a real blessing in the skies. But that's all a part of what makes this journey even more interesting. I wouldn't trade it off for anything else.
I used to be on call to attend to mental health crises. Lots of ED visits in the middle of the night. I don't miss it now that I'm retired. God bless you in your work. So grateful to the flight attendants of this world.
Julia
As the Emergency Coordinator for our municipality I received a call from the police at about 2:00 am to assist looking for a list child. I called out our emergency volunteers and after a debriefing we set out in teams and found the lost child. Got home about 6: 00 am and went to work at 8:30 am. Tired the next day.
Regards
Jennifer and Duncan from Canada
Yes, I had to get up in the middle of the night for two different jobs, 1 as a convenient store Manager, and the 2nd was a Bookkeeper for a Supermarket.
I’m a background actor and stand in. I’ve had more than a few alarms going off at 1am for super early call times (I live close to BDL but work in New York). Can’t wait until we actors get our deal and my alarms can resume.
My husband used to work rotating shifts being a crane operator. It was Days to Swing to Graveyard with each shift being 5 times in a row. He only had 4 Saturday and Sundays off a year. It was grueling for him. He’s retired now after working that for 35 years. I enjoy you and your videos. Hang in there! Julia, You bring a lot of people much joy. ❤
In 45 years of Radio and TV engineering, I think I worked every possible second of every possible day of the year at least once. My first job in radio had me getting-up on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 3:10 AM to get to the radio station to sign it on the air at 6 AM...
Hey Julia great video so sorry you had to get up at 1:00am😴
I’m an emergency medicine doctor so I work all kinds of shifts! Overnights are a third of my workload :)
I was a theatre nurse. We covered night times with on call. I had a cat who, during the day, didn’t react to a ringing phone. She slept on the pillow, above my head. When the phone rang at night I woke to hear her growling!!!!
I wake up at 1:30 am for a 4am shift five days a week. I commute 30 minutes to work so I like to wake up a bit earlier to be alert. I work for Publix. I am a scan price clerk. I maintain the price changes and signs. From the outside looking in, it sounds easy. It's not. U have to be on the ball on sudden changes and think quickly. Also have to be super organized. I like the hours because I am at the age and career where I like to hav a regular schedule. It's not easy waking up that early. 😀
I am a highway traffic manager and safety professional. I have had plenty of times over the last 13 years I've been doing this, that I've been woken up at 1am or thereabouts, to do emergency jobs for clients. I definitely feel the struggle getting up that early and being productive, and there is good reason for that. The circadian low that is natural for our bodies occurs between 1-4am. So we naturally should be in deep sleep then. Safe travels Julia!
I was a Gate Agent for America West Airlines and would have to be at the SeaTac Airport at 3:45 am. The challenge was I lived two and half to three hours away so I was leaving my house around 12:30 am. I was not a fan of that shift.
Worked at a Fairgrounds during an important horse show, had to go in to clean the stalls overnight to ready them for new horses to come in. The only good is seeing the sunrise. 🌞
I am an athletic trainer and I used to have a 90 minute commute so I’ve definitely had 2-3am wake-ups for those early morning 2-a-day starts!
I love Luna, she always makes me smile! Her tired squinty face cracked me up!
I used to work at a London airport as a team leader and my start time was 4am. When you do it on a regularly your body gets used to it 💕
I work at a restaurant and back in August 2019 to up until early 2022 (this was only on weekends, btw) I had to be up by 4:15 am to be at work around 5:30am. I was the guy making pizza dough. Thank goodness I don’t make dough anymore! I’m part of the management team now. I primarily work nights these days. I’m more of a night owl 😂
Hi Julia,
When i use to work for the postal service one tour i had was from 2am to 10:30am which i worked for 5 years before I could bid on something better.
It was rough and very hard on my social life, but things got much better after that!!!😊
Security shift worker in Australia here. The joys of 24/7 shift work during upcoming summer time, the heat and summer sun we dread
As a former Ballerina and now doctor that has to wake up on call sometimes in the middle of the night, I was empathizing so much with you 😂. Love your videos as I love learning about different professions !
I woke up at 4 am every Monday while I worked at a gym as a lifeguard. I hated the early wake up since I’m not a morning person. But I loved the people I worked with and the awesome guests.
I feel your pain regarding your odd work schedule. I was a radio DJ for many years and over my career I worked many different shifts. I never had a problem working an overnight shift, but working 6 AM to 9 or 10 AM was always a struggle for me. My disdain of mornings has gotten worse over the years. Thanks for always being a bright spot an any day you drop a new video.
My husband worked for a tire company in the engineering department. He went to work at 2:30 am for over 30 years! I had to train myself to sleep through his alarm (and I’m a light sleeper)!! Thanks for all the fun trips you share with us!!
I am currently recovering from a minor surgery I had earlier this morning. Today’s video was the perfect pick-me-up, especially seeing your positivity in the midst of an early sign-in! Thank you so much for taking us along with you to Disney Springs, and we are looking forward to future long layovers!
Your makeup at 3:30 am seriously looks amazing!
It wasn't a regular thing but I was a flooring contractor and we would get night jobs like working in one of the Casinos (Reno), or JC Penney' s and at the airport. Jobs like that had to be done at night. It was HORRIBLE. I was used to getting up early in the morning but doing the night work was awful.
As a teenager, delivered the newspaper; up at 4am every morning.
Naval aviator; plenty of 4:15am flight briefs for a 6am "dawn launch," shore-based and at sea on the carrier. Alert 15 and Alert 5 duty at sea in the middle of the night; in flight gear in the ready room for 2 hrs, then strapped in the aircraft for 2 hrs.
Normal routine was to fly 1 or 2 flights per day, be the backup spare for a third flight, then stand the night alert. Sixteen hour days common for everyone.
I grew up on the north west coast of England, my family are all still there. I live 30 mins from London. To say life has thrown me a massive curve ball in the last six months is an an understatement BUT without the support of family and friends whether it’s from friends & family in my home town or here I wouldn’t have got through it and I’m still going through it but positivity, a lot of laughs and humour is the key xx
I totally agree with aches and pains Julia. I have to sometimes take two Motrin to relax and sleep because my back hurts
Oooof it’s rough!!
I worked with Europeans on a regular basis, and sometimes with people in India. While it wasn't every day, a 5AM wakeup for a 6 AM meeting was not unlikely. On a few occasions, I joined European meetings from Central Time with a start time of 1AM. The good thing about those meetings is that I was done by about 10 AM.
I was a machinist assistant i woke up at 2:00 am and at work by 4:00 am that job was largely keeping the shop clean and stripping paint off an old machine we had lunch at noon, no A/C so by 3:00pm we were spent and went back to the house by 6:00pm back to sleep and do it over again the next day. I sympathize with early to work.😒 Thankfully that job didn’t work out.
Oh yes, my first truck driving job - they call you at any hour for fill - ins - the 3am starts were the worst. But, with seniority, those days are long past. I feel yes with the 1am wake up. Be safe, fly safe my friend!
2:49 I used to work graves in a big hospital. I worked in Labor & Delivery as a CNA and Unit Coordinator. We were required to be on-call 4 times a month. So sometimes I would be called in the middle of the night to go to work. It was rough.
I got up at !:00 am 7 nites a week for 22 years. Had a large adult newspaper route in the Raleigh NC , Was rough but it allowed me to retire early and totally debt free.
Hi Julia! I work as a baker on for a college university and my first nine years my shift started at 3 or 4 am so I’d be waking up around 2:20-3:20 am. It was ROUGH. I still work there but I start anywhere between 5-6 am now so that is much better 😂
Oh wow much better but still very early! A few people have commented that they are bakers and I never realized how early you guys have to wake up!!
So glad you and your bestie got time together!
Awwww so cool you got to meet up with Tiffany!! You two are adorable together. Love that shirt! Well way back when...we're talking Fall of 1994 lol...I had an early morning, seasonal gig at a Bradlees department store. (a company which has long been RIP). The shift was mostly 4-10 a.m. I slept for a couple hours, grudgingly got my rear up, went to work (generally stocking shelves, sorting, price tagging etc) then came home and crashed for a few hours. Didn't mind the job besides the time of day!
I was a firefighter for 16 years. Call outs in the early hours of the morning were never fun to start with, but sometimes oh so satisfying once the adrenalin starts to flow.
Hi Julia! I will be starting a job soon (in training at the moment) as an Aviation Security Officer and my earliest shifts will start at 3am, which will mean about a 1am start for me since it takes at least half an hour to get to the airport from my home (and half an hour for me to get out of bed, lol!). I would love it if you did a video on how you manage shift work and staying fit and healthy (and sane lol) when your eating and sleeping schedules are out of whack! Thank you ^_^
Thanks for supporting the October breast cancer awareness by wearing your special scarf. As a survivor, I appreciate it. And thanks for taking us along on your journeys.....
Thankful you are a survivor and here with us!! I can only imagine how tough breast cancer was 🎀💗
So glad that you got to see your friend!
Glad that you and your friend are still so close despite moving 👍
Hey Julia, awesome vlog, love you and Tiff with the matching shirts, I once was an extra on a X-Man movie and needed to be up at 3am while also working a overnight shift at a bank
Great vlog as always, Julia. When you said Orlando, i thought you might see Ale, but it was great that you got to see Tiffany. It's great that you two are going to try to see each other when possible. I know what it is like having to get up early because i have to get up at 4 a.m. every morning.
I worked as a temp for Mobil Oil Headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia in my early 20s. I worked from 1am to 9pm to receive and organize communications via facsimile from Abu Dhabi as they were/are 7 hours ahead of us. Thankfully it was only temporary (a few months) because it was an every night thing.
Kid’s burger or not, it looked yummy!! 🙂 Always enjoy meeting your coworkers and besties!! Great video as always! Have a blessed week!! ❤️✈️
I work at the Publix deli! I have to be at work pretty much every morning at 5 a.m. so I wake up at 3:20 a.m. to wake up and get ready for work
That’s soooo early! Power to you girl!
I'm an AA ramp agent at DFW, and my wake-up time is 3a for my current bid. The earliest wake-up was when I was in my probation period at AUS and had a variable bid that included two 3a starts, so my wake-up was the evil 1a. Btw, I use ice to wake-up my face, too! On another note, I just want to say that I love your vlogs and appreciate everything you and all of our FAs do. You are a great ambassador for your profession. I hope PHL is treating you well.
So glad you got to see your friend😊
1 am is rough. As a zookeeper, Ive had to pull all nighters, or wake up at 2, 3, 4am etc.. .due to animal watches, birth watches or leaving early for transports.
I work all various shifts. Recently I set my alarm for 00:01 to make sure I was up in time to pick up my load and have enough travel time to make my delivery on time. It doesn’t help that I chronically don’t sleep well. If you haven’t guessed, I am a truck driver, I haul fresh meat and other ag related/food related products. BTW, your friend needs a UA-cam channel!
So much respect for you and all the amazing flight crews who get us travelers to our destinations safely. Love seeing Miss Luna. Travel safe Julie❤️
I use to be a weather forecaster with the National Weather Service. Rotating shiftwork weekly. Dayshift one week, evening shift the next week, then midnight shift the following week. My days off might be Monday and Tuesday one week, Wednesday and Thursday another week, etc. When I was 20 something I could handle it but I saw the older people and they were miserable. You could never get your sleep into a nice rhythm.
Thats earlier than early..SAFE travels my dear❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Becareful in that airport!!! I know I don't have to tell you that!
Another great vid! I got up at 3:30 every morning to milk our cows! I did get used to it,Another day in farming! Stay safe!
Was in the Navy for 12 yrs. We had to stand an 8 hr watch every four days in addition to our regular work schedule. The watch was either 4pm-midnite or midnite-8am.
Cute video! That’s great you can work that out to see your friend.
Thought it was so cute that Luna brought you Eric's shoe. That sure is a early time to get up. I woke up once at a friend's house at 3am to drive home, and can feel your pain.
Thanks for this vlog. OMG. Take it easy. Fly safe. I’ve had experienced waking up at 4 AM when I had worked at Disneyland many years ago. Have an amazing day. Cheers.
Hi Julia. I'm on call every night in my job and I have had my phone ring many times at 1 or 2am and had to goto the office. When I have the problem solved, I crawl under the conference room table and go back to sleep for a few hours. It's brutal, but I'm paid really well. I was on a flight about a year ago out of DFW and you worked the flight. I wanted to say hi so badly, but I was afraid to do so. I told my wife and she laughed and said you should have done it. Your positive attitude and friendly approach is an inspiration to me. Thanks.
Glad you were able to see your friend.
You are such a beautiful person with a great outlook on life - love traveling with you !
I love your Fourth Wing shirt your wearing at the beginning of the video! Also I feel you with the gymnastics aches & pains 😮💨 Loved the vlog, so great that you got to see your bestie! Adult friendships are hard, but worth it!
Your scarf looks so pretty!
Thankfully I have NEVER had that type of Job where I get up early.
Grateful that you are in therapy what a wonderful sponsor to have.
Blessing to you!
Hey Julia! Hope you're doing good! I actually like getting up early in the morning, best thing is that there's no traffic!
This was pleasant to watch! I'm thinking about becoming a flight attendant and this gets me more excited, would you have any videos for newcomers that are considering being a flight attendant?
I hope you had a great trip and enjoy your week
Dietary manager job way way back had to be at work by 5 am so yeah felt like gettingup in middle of night. Also LOVE BASIN!! have so many themed soaps (for every season lol) around house. have had a kid constantly in Florida for several years now (sometimes a Disney CM) so regular visitor to Basin!
I used to work strange hours as a nurse. I got really good at keeping myself awake at all hours which ruined my sleep. Thankfully I have moved into a role working regular hours. It took me YEARS to restore a decent sleep pattern and if I get overtired I’m still awake all night. I still hate mornings.
Yes! My job is working as a ground steward. So often my alarm goes off around 2 or 3AM.
welll im glad you had great flights and got to see your besty tiffany. glad you had a good girls day out . thats a thing with your girls isnt it. great vodeo. thanks for sharing Larry
Ciao Giulia...Grazie per il video...Orlando is a very nice place...seeing your video... i liked a lot ... Thank you so much... see you next time Bye !!!
Oh my goodness... what an early wake-up call!! The earliest I've had to wake up for a job is 5:30, I am not sure I could do 1:00a.m.!! Even Miss Luna realized she was up too early😄It was nice that you had time with your 'bestie'❤Have a wonderful week Julia!!
Hahaha normally Luna always hangs out with me in the morning but she said see ya later this time 😂
You and your bestie are so beautiful! Your day looked like a lot of fun. Your awareness bow 🎀 was perfectly tied. I have only woken up that early to catch a flight 😅
Yes indeed Julia! I understand very much and you're not alone. Because I have been a caretaker for 10 years now and I've had cases with senior citizens with dementia that have disturbed me quite frequently in the middle of the night.
I know about the aches waking you up in the middle of the night. That’s interesting how your flight from DFW to MCO was two hours and eight minutes. So was mine. I also love Disney Springs.
That was a very Early start lovely to see Tiffany again, what a lovely day together those Cookies looked so delicious 😜 have a Good day 🥰
I used to work a 'true' swing shift: 1 week of day shift, two days off; 1 week of night shift, two days off; 1 week of graveyard, 5 days off. By the end of the 'shift', your whole sleep cycle was totally screwed up! Top that!!!
It was good. to see you and your sweet fur baby Before trips
Oh what fun Disney is....and how great it was to see you and Tiffani (spelling) enjoying time together....I loved that past video of the two of you in Wine Country of California.
The worst hours i keep being a truck driver.Running under 1000 from base. 24 7 and deaing with stupid dispatcher. Most hours ever worked in 1 week. 82.6 hours
I work as a pharmacist in a hospital and we all take turns rotating thru 3rd shift. Our hours were 11pm to 7am. I do not enjoy those hours. I'd much rather be in my cozy bed.
I’d much rather be warm and cozy in bed too, that’s tough!!
Awesome clog! I love Orlando! I was hoping you would team up with Wonderfully Ale! Somehow I thought yall knew each other
Good Day !
I worked early morning 6am 🕕 and had to wake up at 5, get ready and drive to work. I was 18 and young but as I got older I can’t imagine doing that again. Only good thing with your situation is you get to go home and it’s not a typical 8 long hour laborious shift in the same room for consecutive days.
Where I worked, as a Veterinary Technician, we each took turns being "on call" or "stand by" shift at night. We would work a 10 hr day, then immediately start another shift 6:30 pm - 8:30 am shift where we could be paged to pick up an injured or sick wildlife that required emergency care. We could sleep in between calls, but if you had a lot of calls, sometimes you got very little sleep. Then the next day, your stand by shift stopped at 8:30 am, and then you would do your regular job, for another 10 hrs. Once I worked from 8:30 am Saturday morning, right through till 6:30 pm Sunday night.
This was for a major City in Canada.
It could be exhausting.
Kudos to you Julia for getting up so early!🥰🤗🌷💗✈️
I get up at 3:30 every weekday to manage a store, so I feel your pain. But curiously, I love my job!
I love this blog. Disney 😍 thank god I never had to get up that early for any job. I don’t know how you do it. Kudos to you
