I have been adding glycerine to my shampoos and conditioners, wow, what a huge difference this makes! My hair is fine, long, curly, my hair is so soft, frizz free, and not weighed down at all since using this. I also add it to my moisturiser. Fabulous.
Your hair looks amazing Nadine. It looks like you volumised it at the roots and the rest is just smooth and straight. I honestly don't see the hair dilemmas you described at the beginning of the video.
Hi I have curly/wavy long highlighted course textured hair so for me the addition of As I Am, Cantu, Shea Moisture etc in Boots/Superdrug is amazing. My dry/frizzy hair really responds to all the intense moisture these brands offer and they're now so mainstream even in Scotland. As Scotland becomes more ethnically diverse more silicone free/oil rich haircare is becoming easily accessible on my local high street. This is a really positive step in the last couple of years and I'm really happy to see it. Best wishes.
I appreciate your unique spin on all these products. There are so many variations and the high street is over run with crud - your laser focus considers every angle - thanks Madame x
As someone with kinky/curly hair, two inexpensive ways to reduce the frizz is to: a) wash your hair less and b) use an old Tshirt (instead of a terry cloth towel) to dry your hair. Give it a few weeks for your natural hair oils to distribute down the hair shaft, and you'll have shinier, healthier-looking hair, and much less frizz. So much easier than buying more product and you may notice your hair has more volume and it brings out the natural curl even more. For ladies with straight oily hair, of course they have to wash the scalp but there's no reason to shampoo more than two times a week.
Really appreciate your advice Elizabeth. I've been going swimming a lot more this summer as I enrolled on an intensive course. I've got curly/kinky hair like you. And although I washed my hair with a conditioner after swimming, my hair was still frizzy as ever. Now I realise it's because I over washed my hair!! I made a DIY hair treatment using egg yolk, olive oil and honey but my hair hasn't recovered as of yet. I'll try the Loreal hair mask that Nadine mentioned because my hair is parched! May I ask, what deep conditioning hair treatments you use?
@@zizia9060 I use Cantu Aragon leave-in conditioner and a home made flax gel recipe, it helps, it's natural and it's cheap as chips!!! Recipe is in the link below. www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/ingredients/the-best-diy-flax-seed-hair-gel-recipe-ever
I used John Frieda blonde. System then if he had changed the formula but my hair went like straw and apparently it had peroxide in , my hair became so damaged it was only my hairdresser salvaged my chin level hair , I was almost in tears my hair was awful , so no I will never ever use any shampoo which contains a neutralising system in it ! I was mortified ! Yes I have those collections of clear bags I swear that they are fabulous!
I’m enjoying salon treatment Kerastase fusio dose and I like my Dafni straightening brush (can’t justify buying a Dyson hairdryer)... thanks for info Nadine x
Thanks Nadine! Another great video of tips & ideas, 😊 definitely going to try the new John Freida & just joined Beauty pie so will be looking for the mask! x
"I fanny about in pools & I swim like a brick, honestly" 🤣🤣🤣🤣👏 Omg I just laughed so hard!! Oooh I've got a lot of shopping to do when I visit home for Christmas!
haven't tried any of those products but am loving Elemis Frangipani Monoi hair and scalp mask, I have thick ,course dry hair and it is working wonders, it is rinse out but I leave it in , by the way freezer zip lock bags work brilliantly for travel, from cosmetics to bikinis and shoes -:)
Hi Nadine you are fantastic I’ve been following you for a few months now and really trust your judgement everything you recommend I try and you get it right every time I have the same problem with my hair as you,I have bought everything from red ken to avedabut just bought the new John Frieda range and like you say the crime is great.Love the marks bags will get them too as I’m away to Portugal in a fortnight.Have to try the hair heat mask too and I’ve been using the colab dry shampoo too that you recommended it’s hard to get the green one it’s always sold out as it’s so popular,I love the smell of it too. Thanks for all of your advice and love watching your videos going round the makeup stores.I take photos of you with the products I want to buy then I don’t forget what you recommend.Lv jan 💐😘💄🛍
Superdrug are doing a olaplex type treatment dupe, I tried it and it works for the first time in ages my coloured hair isn't frizzy even the day after washing its still smooth I can't believe it 😍
I always enjoyed the frizz ease products but as I stopped damaging my hair so much I find it was too heavy for me. I might give this new line a go. I say grow your natural texture out and work with the waves. It might just be awesome.
I bloody love that John Frieda Creme. Got fine, wavy, frizzy and very long hair and have always struggled to balance conditioning my ends properly and get rid of frizz but most of the stuff out there would weight my hair down way too much. This creme does a great job at eliminating frizz without being too heavy. It’s an affordable winner #notsponsored lol
Swim like a brick .... I really like John F products and really like the CoLab dry shampoo’s they are so budget friendly and so many different options . I have a ton of hair but it’s very fine , if I roll up in twist for work at 6am when I take it down at 10 pm it will still be damp . I am in the process of growing it out from an inverted bob as for work ( I am in healthcare) it’s easy to pull up and get it off the back of my neck and cooler .
Thanks Nadine for your honest reviews and yes you are someone special, you have experience in the market, you know the drill, you know the players out there quite well, so to me as I can guess many others YOUR OPINION counts, I do trust your reviews and recommendations and there are not that many in this Beauty world of UA-cam/ IG that I do! So thanks for your time & dedication! You are a real PRO!
I still don’t understand why everyone is not talking about New Wash by Hair-story. It has no detergent uses natural oils to cleanse and condition all in one go. That means the price £44 is not as bad as you think. Normally you need a shampoo, a conditioner and a smoothing product and maybe a leave in. It is /faster as you only need massage into scalp then ends. Leave for 3 minutes and rinse. My hair is bl***dy gorgeous. It is like silk curtain of amazing ness. I have been using it now for 3 months and to my delight my hair no longer feels rough or coarse when it is wet. It is now in such good condition its silky even when I have wet it to apply the New Wash. I first heard about it from Sali Hughes who had not tried it but her friends are raving about it. Me too I am raving about it. You must try it. X
Frizzzy hair ...thats me ... add super long hair length n a humid weather to the mix n its a winning combo! Need to work on my hair care ...Love your enthusiasm Nadine... chuckling over the Debenhams fiasco . .lol ....not fair though 😐 hmmph....
Love colab it’s the best dry shampoo I am currently loving Kristen Ess [hope that’s spelled correctly] so I air dry in the hotter weather her air dry cream is amazing helps with the poof. Also Moroccan oil curl cream that smells sooo good. Really ambling on sorry 🖤😊
Fab video as usual Nadine. The BP hair care is on my list of must haves. I have the bags from mark's and Spencer they're great. What do you think of Olaplex products? X
What do you think of the products like Elvive low shampoo and cleansing cream? I *think* I like it for my pepper and salt very short hair as it doesn't get weighed down but copies with the bits that stick out drily when I use someone else's shampoo and conditioner. There seems to be a move for 'no poo' (meaning no shampoo everyone!) and your opinion would be very interesting.
Thanks for this Nadine. Your hair always looks fab! Side note, do you know where I can get Hado Labo super hydrator?? Just finished my last bottle but can’t find it on line anymore!😱
Any help for itchy scalp? . Don't know why stores would throw you out your helping them really. I do like leave in conditioner sprays. Hard water is terrible on my hair when I go back up north soft water I get less frizz.
You may be allergic to one of your styling products, including hairspray. Try a cider vinegar rinse--half vinegar & half water. Let sit for 3 min., then rinse. (It may sting if you have been scratching.)
One brand I love is maui moisture. Their blue conditioner is like a deep conditioner for me! And their shampoos don't try out the hair. I think it's cos they don't use sulphates
Typical, ive just re-ordered some Kerastase for my blonde fine long bleached over processed floofy ended hair...it is fab (its in the green packaging). But thinking the John Freida will be cheaper. Next time!! BUT Batiste do a gentle fragranced dry shampoo called 'Bare' its so subtle, but hard to find.
Hey Nadine! I’m not sure if they sell it in the U.K., but I love the unscented “Not Your Mother’s” brand of dry shampoo (the unscented version has a green cap). It works really well and is a drugstore price, especially if Ulta has a sale on it. Ulta also sells a travel size of it which is TSA-friendly. You totally made me scream with describing your hair as floofy. 😂 Like you, I have a cat and she has soft, fluffy hair (Siberian breed, similar to a Maine Coon) and when the inevitable hair chunk comes out due to her grooming or just zooming around the house during the Crazies, I call it her Floof. Haha! Thanks again for all of your videos! xoxo Christine in hotter than blazes Colorado, USA. 🇬🇧💜🇺🇸
TLDR: YAY JF creme. & I'd love to see you do a video about your thoughts on 'clean beauty' - focusing on sulphates, parabens, silicones - especially in haircare! Oh wow! I hope they launch the John Frieda Creme in Canada ASAP! I've been having a disastrous time with hair loss recently & for the first time in my life I couldn't brush through the ends of my hair! I'm guessing it got brittle & tangled easier? My point of commenting is this: In a last ditch attempt to stop screaming at my knots (srsly - I NEVER get knots!!) I dug out an old bottle of JF Thermal protection Frizz Ease (the heavy one) & it was miraculous! I only put it on lower mid lengths & ends but it's like my hair was crying out for silicones! Lol 😂 I've been using silicone/sulphate/paraben free products for the last 2 years or so.. Got taken in by the hype & only did a little research of my own. Now I'm deep dive researching WHY or even IF I, personally, need to avoid these ingredients.. Because boy! The ends of my hair are now like silk (because they're coated in think silicone serum lololol) - needs must! (I NEED a haircut - that's what I really need! Unfortunately I get a special kind of 'salon anxiety' that means I practically need to be dragged to a hairdresser once a year :( it sucks) I'd love to see you do a video about your thoughts on 'clean beauty' - focusing on sulphates, parabens, silicones - especially in haircare! (if you've already done this, I apologise - I must have missed it!) Thanks for another great video Nadine! P.s. Sorry for stupidly long comment! I just feel a real connection to your hair journey right now & LOVE your no BS attitude! 💕
Do you have a recommendation for hairspray that is unscented - I find that’s another product which fights with your perfume and I hate the scent of most hairsprays. Thanks. X
My favorite budget brands are Mark Hill (Boots) and Noughty. The Mark Hill products have so much fragrance, but they're so good I'm willing to ignore it.
I got thrown out of Tesco, we actually i had my phone out filming. We wanted a new TV Looking at one that was 800 quid. So i shouted i wont buy your 800 pound TV now. She did nothing silly woman. We went elsewhere. Cost us 40 pounds more. But yeah Tesco 🖕 not darkened their doors since, 6 years. I can hold a grudge. My Gorgeous Darling. I could watch all day lol. Just Beautiful. 👌Im using Wow right now, trying to get curly back. Its good. Got the straightener one. Not used. xxx💞💝❤🐯🐾🐾

Please make a blooper reel of you getting thrown out of stores!! Please! 😄 I love your reviews..so informative and honest.

Your hair looks amazing Nadine. It looks like you volumised it at the roots and the rest is just smooth and straight. I honestly don't see the hair dilemmas you described at the beginning of the video.
