Cardinal Hayes High School 1997

This video was produced by the Cardinal Hayes Alumni Association in 1997. The Principal of the school at that time was Monsignor John Graham. The current Principal, William Lessa is on the tape in his earlier position of Chief Guidance Counselor. Also on the tape is Tom Murray, long time Director of Athletics and Artie Guy from the class of 1944. Artie was one of Hayes' most active and popular alumni.
I graduated from Hayes in 1971. The school was very large in those days with a student body of about 3,000. Student's attended from all over the Bronx and Manhattan as well as Yonkers and other areas in lower Westchester.

I am watching this video 25 years later and while some things change some stay the same! Cardinal Hayes is still working to educate young boys to become young productive men in society despite of all the challenges and economic hardships. Up Hayes and all it's Loyal Men! For God and Country!

That's actually class of '99 (the seniors) at the Football rally in the gym. I graduated the year before and went to elementary school with a bunch of the guys pictured. Up Hayes!
