- Dave loves his v4 Tuono but it isn't without it's faults. In this episode Dave upgrades the front brakes on his Aprilia

The facts-per-second rate in your videos is consistently probably the highest of any YT video out there
Congrats on the results from Snetterton.
Brilliant Dave working on your own bike!
Nice results on the weekend,. Kept it on the tarmac when many didn't. Nice to see. 👍
Once again Dave, as always a great presentation.
My tuono factory is fitted with the M50 caliper amazing stopping power but I'd love those just because they look more modern ! Loving this series ❤
Another brilliantly entertaining and informative video, really good stuff! Thankyou Dave for taking the time.
Excellent Brakehavior. 😁😁👍
Thanks for the info 👍much appreciated as is all the content
Don't worry about salt in washing up liquid it is minimal and about 2% in a bottle and when diluted virtually 0, all soaps have salt or sodium as long as its not got the chloride that's the corrosion factor it's not like road salt.
The advice is always not to use fairy liquid however its my favorite do all get it done stuff. I use a spray bottle with a couple of squirts filled with water and its brilliant for EVERYTHING. Can't say I have noticed any additional corrosion or deterioration on my old bike or car 2012. Can anybody share proven bad experiences?
Just wondering why/reasons not to use 5.1. Seeing that it doesn't attract water like a sponge, higher temps it can cope with and doesn't destroy your paintwork if spilt. 🤔
Does Franco know his spare parts bin in getting lower🤣
Thanks for the up load. Would enjoy seeing some of the spanner twiddling part too if you can get a mount for the camera sorted. Was hoping to see how you removed the master cylinder without squirting your fluid everywhere before you even start pumping. Oooo Matron! Also, would the greater distance from fulcrum on the brake lever not give more power to the pumping action? Definite Carry On feel to this comment...
would those calipers fit a gen 2 tuono?
Tell us about Snatterton old chap, FFS.
Give him a chance FFS 😊
I wish you had the time tk have just fitted the master cylinder rode it then compared it to stock then fitted the callipers and rode it again to see if both are worth the cost of upgrade or just one option , but that’s just as I’m tight and want to go cheapest route to get good result lol
If I was only doing one, it'd be the calipers!!
@@obsession_engineering missed opportunity here as a racer AND engineer I'd expected your ocd curiosity to compare WHY one is better than the other.. they're both.. just blocks of metal with pistons sliding through seals.. from the same maker!.. wouldn't it make much more sense to fit top specs piston/seal kit to the original monoblocks.. I would expect even getting OEM stainless pistons dlc coated & some low drag seals.. good stuff to know.. for your racing campaign rather than just flowing the flock bolting on all the same as your competitors that are beating you.. probably cheaper too.. but then I'm not a pom 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🤔👍nz
Great Video Dave, what is your strategy for breaking in new Pads/discs? I've read all sorts about gentle break in and aggressive break in. Your thoughts?
Stick with whatever procedure the part manufacturer or your motorcycle owners manual recommends as they are the ones who did the R&D.
There's a LOT of pseudo science and bullshit floating around the motorcycle community.
question : " after so much extreme miles (your skill's) do you "notice" fading-breaks?" of course with adrenalin / nor-adrenalin at high level
a side by side breaking test , please 🤗
How to changing ratio hel master cylinder. Do you guys have a manual for that?
Which tygon tubing do you recommend?? 2375???
Yes , would like to know also. I have some I use as fuel pipe, but am a little concerned because I feel it’s a bit too soft/flexible to maintain its shape & not kink.
How you compare these to a Brembo RCS 19 ?
Noticed you’ve got the road 5s what you make of them ? Or are they 6s ?
6's and I think they're excellent. More grip than you'll ever need on the road, good in the wet and even quite reasonable on track. And they do lots of miles!!
@@obsession_engineering awesome got some road 5s myself cheers davey
OCD triggered!
Please tell me you are going to replace the clutch lever too, and not have one silver and one black! 😱
Doesn't bother my ocd so I'm OK 😂
It's so dissapointing to see this manufacturers cheaping out on parts for this expensive supposed premium bikes...
I was watching a video by stone automotive on the R1M and it's the same situation on that bike to. I even calculated, the amount of money you save by getting the base model, is enough for you to buy a complete brake upgrade front and rear(Calipers, lines, mastercylinder), clutch perch, cartridge and shock upgrade from nitron.
The M has the bling, but isn't really the value it could be
Accossato Billet CNC master cylinder will work a treat with those calipers. Far better than a forged Brembo master cylinder for similar money. I’m not a fan of Hel master cylinders, I use their hoses though.
I haven't found Accossato's machining particularly tidy, but the feel of the billet jobby is golden.
Oh, can I ask what your issue is with the Hel M/c is?
I'm looking for something not to pricey to fit to my Africa Twin 1100, as stepping off an RC8R with the M4 brembos and a 19 ratio Accossato...
Yeah, I don't particularly like having to plan my braking as far in advance as I have to on the big Honda.
@@pauln6803 I’ve had 2 hel master cylinders that leak. No matter what we did, they still leaked.
I’ve har no problems with the Accossato Billet CNC master cylinders I’ve been using since. I run a 19x18 on one of my bikes and 19x20 on another bike. Not had a single issue from any of them.
@@pauln6803 I think you can get one for your bike for about £190.
