How to do delivery missions in Elite Dangerous

- This is a beginner level tutorial on how to complete data delivery and commodity delivery missions in Elite Dangerous. This video was recorded in Elite Dangerous version 2.3.11.
Please note that I had mentioned early on that this video covers smuggling missions too. The one thing I failed to mention is that in order to successfully smuggle, you need to avoid being scanned by the authorities at the destination port. Being scanned will usually result in your demise, as most stations will turn off your shields almost immediately upon discovering your contraband.

For those who are having trouble, the game isn’t bugged. I thought so too but I was just missing a step. When accepting the mission click on the mission tab (depot) then collect all the items. I made the mistake of buying the items from the commodities tab and trying to deliver those. They don’t count and won’t be accepted for mission completion
This was changed after I made this video.

Thanks for the explanation. That's exactly what I was having trouble with. Pisses me off sometimes how this game functions. The damn cargo should've been put on the ship the moment you accept the mission but nooooooo! That's too obvious. I swear this game is actually a troll.
And now I don't remember where I accepted the mission at. Lovely.

Boom delivery missions seem to be broken. I've had the game for over a year but have never been able to finish one. Even doing everything this video told me to i still can't complete it. When i get to the station i just can't complete the mission the game just wont let me. I even went back to the station i got the mission and payed to get the commodities then went to the other station and still i can't complete it. I'm i doing something wrong or is it broken?
Ghost Of Zyklon same thing happens to me. I’ve watched this video and tried exactly the same sequence. When I leave the station after acccepting the mission, there isn’t any cargo and when I get to the destination, it shows zero cargo and can’t complete that mission. Seems that something is missing
Same here. Cant complete any delivery missions.
I think it's because you either have no room in cargo or are lacking a cargo module? It's not working for me either but my cargo is full when I tried. I jumped to the location only to realize I forgot to pick up the 2921 units of weapons before I left the start station.
I just recently started playing elite and I had the same issue. I realized I was missing a step. When you accept the mission you have to click on the depot box and collect the items there and then conduct the transport. I’m almost positive you all probably did the same thing I did which was purchase the items from the commodities tab which don’t count towards the delivery status.
Have boom delivery missions been nerfed or reduced? I was making several million an hour running those (once rep had been raised), but after logging in yesterday after about a year they're hard to find. Well, not as if there aren't any, there are just much fewer available and the pay out is less.
I'm sorry I have no idea. I haven't played ED in years now.

I can't do missions because they always glitch so I got scammed because missions don't work for me
Whats the best ship for this the imperial eagle? Since its very fast and manoeuvrable
I haven't played in years, but the asp explorer had a huge cargo capacity capability and maneuverability back then. If you're just stating out and don't have the credits, then absolutely yes the eagle should be able to carry a modest amount of cargo and however many data missions you can find.

I’m not sure I see a lot of actual detailed info in this video. Just loud. Ackground music and fast fwd. thru game menus. Cool, we watched Skilled station parking and high speed travel. Yay.
i have the items but cant deliver.....game broken?
So I haven't played since 2017 but according to a forum post I just read you can now accept delivery missions when you don't have the cargo space available and then load the cargo later. You may still have cargo at the starting point of your mission.
I go to the planet but nothing happen this game is so hard
Alexandre Veilleux I haven't played for over a year now but the principals should be the same. You pick up the mission (and any cargo) and then go to the destination. You should be able to set a path to the destination through the map screen (like i show in the video).

Alexandre Veilleux cobra mk3, then asp explorer once you can afford it
Alexandre Veilleux i would skip the hauler line - they can't be fitted for combat effectively, and they are slow so you are probably dead if you get caught by anything but npcs. Asp explorer is probably my favorite all around ship, though like most things you won't need it once you get to anaconda or bigger.
