I hope not to come off as rudely correcting or "um actually" less than 10 minutes into the video but coming on 5 years as a Transformers fan, "kibble" is one of the most frequent terms I see and I've never encountered it being used in quite the way it's been described here. Generally it's used when a part/piece intended specifically for the alt mode isn't seamlessly integrated into the bot mode, so it hangs out or protrudes excessively in that mode. It's especially utilized if the piece in question is overly bulky or cumbersome or looks like an eyesore. It serves a purpose or function in alt mode, but not bot mode. (You can also switch "alt" and "bot" around in this description but it's much less common that way.) Very common example would be a hood of a car that just hangs off the back on robot mode because the designers had nowhere better to put it. Doesn't necessarily have to be negative or an accusation of "bad design" though as car door "wings" often seen on Jazz or Bumblebee would be kibble also. TLDR it's leftover (insert vehicle/beast mode here) bits. I would personally never think of Bee's horns or a chevron and especially not a visor as kibble since they barely stick out and are intentionally designed for and exclusive to robot mode even if their only purpose is an aesthetic one. Maybe a gap in my own usage since I'm not versed in the fanfiction side of things (that's why I'm here, lol) so I am going off of how it's used to refer to the toys in particular but there's a tfwiki page dedicated to the term as well.

Opening up a fic for the first time was certainly interesting. Took me a while to pick things up, but I actually found it really fun to figure out. When writing/discussing, I use some terms but not others based on how similar I imagine they are to human structures. Like, those are hands. They're just hands, guys. But I imagine dentae as fused plates rather than actual separate teeth, so they're worth giving a different name. Considering all of the names that are just "___ strut" or "___ plate," maybe I should start throwing anatomical region terms around, haha. "Dorsal strut" seems a bit more accurate than "spinal strut." I haven't seen digitips yet, but I was wondering what other fans called fingers. Seems it's just digits!

There’s a bunch of interesting things to play around with anatomically since they’re all aliens, one of the many joys I get from making art/reading fics for this fandom! ^^
I'm certain Cybertronians have a *superb* sense of smell but they don't use noses for this purpose. Reason being, every scent molecule has a particular quantum energy value which a Cybertronian could use to identify whether fuel is contaminated before consuming it and thus avoid damaging their engine.
I love you so much for this. Been in the tf fandom since I was 10 and ho bo. It was like I was in a weird fugue state as I learned all of the tf terminology and how the different ff sites works. Literally everything felt new and confusing.
I grew up on the Aligned continuity shows (Prime, RID, Rescue Bots) and something that I always wanted to know more about was their anatomy/biology/culture. but the aligned continuity was more about Transformers adapting to earth culture. Then I read IDW More than Meets the Eye and Lost Light and all my wishes were granted! Thank you so much for this guide, I always love learning new things about my favorite space robots!😁
I was a little surprised that when talking about bio-lights, you didn’t mention the Cybertron games. I remember playing those games and literally every single character to their guns and insignias were glowing in all sorts of line and design patterns. I honestly didn’t even know that had a name til now. I was thinking about the HUD and I realized that it doesn’t show up too often in official TF media. I can only remember a HUD appearing during the Bumblebee movie, one in the first Bayformers movie when Blackout attacked the military base and another in the opening cutscene in the WFC game.
I haven’t played those games for myself or watched a play through so I’m not super familiar with them or the character designs, but that’s super cool to know! I really would like to pick that slew of games in the future if I can ever get my hands on them

Hi! I watched the first video after watching tfone and desperately wanting to understand half the words people were using in the fandom and fanfic, and it really helped! Ive come back to watch this one because although ive gotten a lot wiser and savvy with the terms, im still fairly new! Excited to watch the video, im sure ill learn something i haven't encountered!
Also Aurelion is Arcee's girlfriend in 2005 IDW but Arcee is with Greenlight in 2019 IDW and the MLP crossover comics and they have a daughter named Gauge
