Lauryn Hill is one of the most legendary hip hop musicians ever. In my eyes she's the greatest female MC of all time, I'd put her up against any single other female MC and she'd win without question.
@@RellyR510 I think Missy's more of catchy beat maker.Lyrically, Lauryn's on a completely different level.Missy's definitely in the conversation when it comes to innovation, tho. She's probably the most creative.
Definitely check out IF I RULED THE WORLD by Nas featuring Lauryn Hill. It’s a🔥 song! And keep going down the rabbit hole of 90’s hip-hop. It was truly a golden era. Merry Christmas!
She said it. Music back then was "so much better". I was 11 years old when this song was released and even though we were only kids, we followed Hip Hop music and culture like it was the gospel. Hip Hop took over the music charts because it was just so damn good. So grateful I got to grow up in the 90's.
I saw your Killing Me Softly reaction and I automatically thought this is another great song from them to do. So glad you guys are doing it. This whole album is fire!!!
Ahhhh the Fugees. I love it when young kids get into music I used to love. Back when I was snowboarding competitivly, I was mostly a punk rock kind of guy, but bands like Diggable Planets, Leaders of the New School, and especially the Fugees. Also, I had a massive crush on Lauryn Hill like most guys my age.
This song is so 🔥! As a matter of FACT, the whole album is.. nostalgic af! Damn! Y'all need to hop on the "if I ruled the world " Lauryn Hill ft. Nas next! 💙
This album (The Score) has a bunch of other good songs worth checking out like Zealots, Cowboys (album version) to name a few. Also Fu-Gee-La (Refugee Camp Remix) is more chill/melodic than the others. All are great though. I haven't listened to this album in years so its a nice reminder of how good it is.
They sampled from Enya - "Boadicea" (1987). It's pretty old. Lauryn starred in "sister act 2". She played alongside Whoopi Goldberg. If you haven't watch it please do.
The Fugees,The Score greatest Hip-Hop of all time.L Boogie (Lauryn Hill). The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Incredible album.Great song choice 👍🏼🎼🎸🎧🎄......
I see you checkin yo self in the camera 😂 you good my dude. Shot you got her. Thanks for this song though. Lost my virginity with my babysitter to this album
Back in the day MTV used to play music videos most of the day so artists went all out on their videos. Now most videos are not seen unless you go searching for them so they don't spend the time or budget since it really isn't worth it.
I was 15 and F'ed around with a certain board with the alphabet on it, head this song from a radio that wasn't on, then randomly in the distance from time to time and still find it randomly on the radio.
Lauren might be the best Female Rapper ever, and she sings as good as she raps. Too bad she stopped making tunes. Also this album is called The Score, you gotta hear the full thing
I respect her decision to take a step back from the hype of fame, and the industry tryna drain her for what ever they can profit from... of course me too would have LOVED to get more content from her. I remember being in complete awe of her from the very first time hearing her.... but she did actually make a brief appearance laying a verse on Nas latest project now in 2021 ❤
@@rebeccalebeck9180 It's actually Nas' second latest project because he just dropped one last night. But I agree. Showbiz can be stressful. Especially as a successful, outspoken black woman. Yeah, glad she got to enjoy life away from the BS that comes with the industry
Back then music had thought and effort and intellectual equity compounded to create music. now, i cant even tell if there was even time spent to make it.
😊 we know how to get down You better ask somebody respect You guys are the s*** You are one of us and you have been with us to be doing You just may or may not remember I can tell you you are co-creators of the universe I love you Lauren❤
These kids dont know what good rap music is. Fugees still blows any new stuff away in 2024. Luryn Hill is amazing but Wyclef is the genius and brilliance behind this group. He even taught Lauryn how to rap😎
I make tracks like I'm homeless dance around the border like Cassius Clay I love you guys ready or not❤❤❤ let's go let's get it That's what's up Yes yes respect
Not necessarily for a reaction tho u should check out sister act 2. to first time to see Lauren Hill, when she first started from at least that's where I first saw her from before she started her music career..
Lauryn Hill is one of the most legendary hip hop musicians ever. In my eyes she's the greatest female MC of all time, I'd put her up against any single other female MC and she'd win without question.
The only female MC that comes close is MC Lyte.Lyte has some bangers.I agree that L Boogie is the GOAT female MC, tho.
Missy gotta be in that convo
@@RellyR510 I think Missy's more of catchy beat maker.Lyrically, Lauryn's on a completely different level.Missy's definitely in the conversation when it comes to innovation, tho. She's probably the most creative.
MC Lyte ###111
Lauryn is def the goat female rapper. There are a few who I think are close, & could surpass her, specifically Rapsody & Little Simz.

Lauryn raps better than most of the men that have existed in hip hop. She's too damn good, Lauryn in her prime was the best rapper alive fr fr
I personally think she’s a much better role model for young girls than the artists of today
