I LOVE THE IDEA TO GO IN AND BASE COAT!! It Really helps to BREAK THE ICE of Intimidating busy page! You Really have some Great Starts Planning and Ideas which is Half the battle! I know I'm guilty... of thinking I have to get this Done this week this month etc. But.. that sometimes Takes the fun out of it... It REALLY IS OK to put it away and come back when we have a Fresher out look and have Fun completing it.. rather than a Chore of getting it Done!🤩💖😁
Exactly because in my world quite few years ago when I had to write papers as a student at Indiana Wesleyan- I had instructors that would tell us to take a step back for a few hours or days and then proofread or whatever....like writer's block I get coloring block which gets overwhelming and that's not what coloring is about. Hopefully this encourages anyone who needs or reads my words. 🦋💜🦋
Thanks for sharing! Starts and WIPs count. No shame! I remember watching you do that Egyptian page, fabulous work! You will do more in these books when you are in the mood, you definitely have the skills for them. 🤗💜
@Deb yes she does! She is one of the ones that got me more serious about my coloring along with Kori.....thanks to Ryan because I think that's where I found their channels. Emily Illustrator is one too! When I grow up I want to color just like them.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love the idea of going in and doing backgrounds or whatever you can. I have trouble starting more than one at a time but I would definitely like to try this approach. I love your finished pages. TFS!
I have been inspired with kerby books too recently! I almost bought kaleidomorphia at target the other day... now I think I might go get it and try kerby again! I only have fragile world and world within worlds. I have just 1 completed in each book... I love all of your completes pages!
I’ve one Kerby book and all I’ve done is colour a tiny little test penguin. Every time I open it, I admire the artwork and then put it back on the shelf. So I totally get what you mean. That said, you’ve done quite a few and they look fab. Love the pharaoh mask 💙
I was inspired by you to start buying my first Kerby books. I wanted to try your pharaoh and your otter is one of my favs I’ve seen (still too afraid to mess that up). Now I’m a Kerby addict. If you ever want to buddy color one of your WIP’s I’d be honored to play along.
I love the Egyptian page but I think that Zebra page was my fave because of the colors. And I think the wrong channel was linked for My Country Life... it goes to Debbie's page. TFS and have a wonderful day my dear!
Ooo I can give some tips for this one! Water based markers are more than likely going to leave streaks. It just is what it is. And trying to correct it with more marker is going to make it worse and often rip the paper. Couple things you can do to minimize it: work in small circular strokes and avoid going back over the same area, especially when the marker is still wet. If I’m using waterbased markers, it’s with the intent to go over the top and use pencils for detail work. I do my best to make sure that when I’m choosing colors, I match my marker to a pencil color. If you can get close, at least in the same color family, you can use the pencil to kind of correct some of the streaks.
I find I have the most success with my Tombow markers. And you just kind of have to accept the streaks. For example, on the cheetah page, there are streaks, but there are so many layers of different colors that it just all blends together! Check out Laura colors too UA-cam channel. I’ll add the link here for you ☺️ She does awesome things with markers!!
That would be a good goal to have. However, I so need to be in a “Kerby mood” to enjoy working in his books, so not sure that would be doable for me. I could definitely see myself working on one of the WIPs or even starting new ones lol.
You do beautiful coloring. Would love to see you finish a few of them.
It is obvious what u like and don't like to color. Interesting!
You are a master. Thanks for these posts.
Woow, wonderful pages. I love the octopus double page, especially the green one, the color is so bright.

So my best papers and now coloring is when I put it down for awhile. I totally overthink everything....maybe even this thought.😉

Hi Erica!🦋💜🦋
Oh the sword fish page....!!!!
Thank you for sharing this! Do you prefer the square format or a rectangular format?
💜💜💜🇬🇧
what do you do to not leave brush marks when you use marker? Tyvm for sharing this video!

I gave my Imagineginmorphoa away and was only my Kerby book....maybe one day.....
I think it would be cool if you did one Kerby WIP per month.
That would be a good goal to have. However, I so need to be in a “Kerby mood” to enjoy working in his books, so not sure that would be doable for me. I could definitely see myself working on one of the WIPs or even starting new ones lol.
Lovely pages, Erica. Thank you for sharing ❤️
What markers do u use in these? They look great with no shading!
I use alcohol markers. Mostly Ohuhu ☺️
I love the pictures from Kerby books, but they are soooo complex to paint 🥴😂
