I also have to agree.
I am just surprise because many of the Hmong from China speaks with a heavy Chinese accent. Mee Yang, on the other hand, speaks Hmong clearly with a similar tone like us Hmong American. You can never expect the unexpected.
she could be the white hmong from malipu. May be the white hmong dialect in laos was from southeast Yunnan. Our dialect is her dialect.
X Lee, u are right. hmong in laos speak the same dialect to white Hmong in china..i 'm a Easten Hmong in china..so i can't understand them. when we hmong china can't understand each other, we speack chinese.
For those of you who are not "understanding" what she is saying, you all have a lot to learn. The Hmong people have spread throughout the world and we all have our own ways of speaking, our own accents and everything. Her accent may be different, strong and maybe even "wrong" to us, but back at her homeland, that is probably how all of them speak, and if we went to her homeland, they would probably say the same thing about our accent, that it's wrong and that we are not true Hmong. As a matter of fact, our culture has spread so much, none of the many accents being heard today could even be the true way the Hmong people spoke thousands of years ago. Also just a note that our ancestors are originally from China so if anything, her accent is probably way more efficient than any other Hmong accent that is being heard throughout the entire world. Please do not hate on our Hmong peers and just enjoy the beauty in our culture.

most hmong chinese are learning to speak hmong meska's language that is why they speak very clear and as good as us. if you listen to her, she speaks far better than those hmong who born in the US.
I disagree because there is no hmong meska language. the language-LUS HMOOB DAWB- we speak everyday belongs to the Hmong of Southeastern Yunnan. Go there find out some day.

She sounds like a really sweet person. Nice voice and good Hmong dialect although sometimes she does slip a little and have a chinese accent but I was surprised how clear she speak most of the time. She kind of look like Hnub lis.

I'm Hmoob myself and I can understand her every word....it's too bad the Hmoob people have yet to expand to the entire world or even have a Hmoob government and laws, just like how Koreans and Japanese.

Y'all could've asked better questions. These people get asked the same questions all the time and the answers are all the same. Kind of tired of that. Yes, we know they like America. And yes, we already know that most Hmong ppl in China and obviously other countries farm as a living..blah blah..reporting is hard, yes, but really a bit more work in asking relevant questions wouldn't hurt, ya know...and is she lipsynching? Wow what bad lip synching
I feel bad for her, for the two reasons below:
1. She go shafted of the crown at the 2013-14 Fresno pageant. (She was clearly the winner by far. Especially in the beauty department among others.)
2. She came to the this year's J4 event when there is turmoil within the community. (Maybe she may not be aware of this, but if she is then it is an embarrassment on our part, with her presence.)

If you cannot (or barely) can understand her then perhaps you only speak fluent Ha'Mung, and not fluent Hmong. But that is the norm nowadays among you Ha'Mung US-borned kids/folks.

Therefore, her spoken language can not be evidence against me a native to this country. Hmong does have standard spoken language. Don't compare to hmong language around the world that there is standard spoken language.
God Lee Arguably, you are not native to English either. Your writing/grammar is deplorable, barely ESL grade. I am "non-native" to Hmong and English also, but comprehend both quite well. Some would say I am fluent (speaking, reading, writing) in both.
