505 S CRTOM means 505 with a line. (In Croatian 's' means with, and 'crta" is a line). If you take a look at the candies, you will see that each one has a line. Candies that exist more then 50 years and all generations like it here.
and you're eating them the wrong way 😂😂😂 don't bite, leave it on your tongue to dissolve on its own that's how you have an interest in your mouth for about 10 minutes
Nik & Allie Hvala vam! Great video. I am going to Zagreb & Rijeka the end of July to see my family. I have not seen them since 2011. I will be going alone but I am going to try all of your recomenned restaurants.
Ha,ha,ha...guys, you are so cool! You made me laugh when you were eating Croatian candy 505 s crtom. S crtom means with a line. S = with, crtom = line. Great video guys! I'm so glad you liked the food from my country! ❤
Thank you guys for promoting our beautiful city of Zagreb ❤️ the food looked super yum my, and I hope you guys had a great time here in Zagreb and hope to welcome you guys back in Zagreb one day... Much love and greetings
Nice videos. 505 is best to keep it in you mouth until it dissolves, don't crush it with your teeth. One delicious desert in Autumn/Winter time I always get in Zagreb is Kesten pire sa šlagom (Chestnut Puree with Whipped Cream).
I so hope you made more food tours because they are so fun. Food is essentual to a country's culture. A travel channel without it is a no go so. Yay! Loved it. Mor plz! :D Hope you fixed the audio. Music is way to high. :)
I feel like Croatia is surprisingly cheap? At least from what you guys have shared. I’m sure you can go overboard, but you can also still enjoy it cost effectively.
Croatia was actually surprisingly expensive to us. Zagreb was a breath of fresh air - the further away we got from the tourist zones on the coast, the better things got. Allie did an amazing job finding affordable stops on this tour!
Not at all! Many people in Zagreb and throughout Croatia spoke enough English that we didn't have trouble. Of course, we always try to learn enough of the language to survive, but that's a few key phrases. We spent almost a full month in Croatia and loved it. We will definitely go back and I wouldn't hesitate to be there long term.
Do you guys use any translation app such as Google translate? I mean, at least you would know what certain words mean. The app also lets you hear the word. Could be helpful with avoiding some of the great blunders with pronunciation. 😄😄😄
s'crtom: First of all. Our R is not the same as yours. the c is prounced like a ts sound as in bits. If the the c has a tilted line on top or an upside down roof it's a ch as in cheese for the line and Chuck for the roof. So first one softly and second one hard spoken. If you see an S like this Š it's simply Sh. Slavic doesn't have a W. So everywhere you use a V replace with a W in your mind and pronounce it the same way. Đđ = DG/dg as in German the G and say a d sound befor the g sound and you got it...somehow.
That is so helpful, thank you!!! I got more comfortable with all the nuances of s and c the more time we spent in Croatia, but “s crtom” threw me for a loop!
@@awaytogether I can imagine that. There are no pronounciation obstacles in English like this. ;-) It is the same pronounciation as in the island of Krk. ...and no, it's not like Kirk. ;-)

Love how you struggled with the pronunciations, so funny! Lovely video, love seeing people enjoy my city.
That tunel is famous because first large rave party in Croatia was made there in 1993. Name of that party was UNDER CITY RAVE.
So interesting!! Thanks for watching!

Good to know! We filmed this over a month ago but still have some 505 left. That Chestnut purée sounds incredible!!!!
505 -with line! :) (crta-line) that candy is ANCIENT!
A tip for future videos. Please don't make the music so loud. It just blasts out of nowhere. Otherwise, awesome video. Keep going.
Noted! Thanks for the tip!

You guys are hilarious! Just came across your channel. Thinking of places to go this year. Croatia may be it. Subbed.
Great episode! That prosciutto sandwich looked great!

There is a barbershop run by an american in Kaciceva street called Barbershop Zagreb. He could give you some tips on what to see in Zagreb.
Wish we had talked to him!!
10:54 We have those too in Croatia!

Hahaha 505 candy. Haven't had these in like 15 years.
Lol glad we could take you for a walk down memory lane!!!
Is it ward to get by just knowing English? What would you think of spending a few months there?
