I have this unit, it worked great for several years and this season it failed with a E1 code. Now, I have to find out the problem and/or where I can get it serviced here in Lapeer, MI.
The unit's warranty is only 30 MONTHS from date of MANUFACTURE, NOT from date of sale or installation! Mine started to fail at 39 months - could not get below 70%, ran 24-7. My portable consumer unit gets it down to 49% with no trouble, and starts/stops as needed. No service available.
I have had the XP model for about 3 years, and it is now no longer able to maintain my humidity level setting of 53%, and showing 63 to 70% despite running all the time. I suspect low Freon levels, and have called local rep for service, so there may be a small leak in the connections. (filter changed regularly and/or if dirty - currently very clean).

Yes Paul calling your local dealer to have it serviced and check it out is exactly what I would have recommended.
