I know this 'UA-camr approved' length video is essentially just another speedpaint but I kinda got carried away woops~
Was feeling like I was neglecting my characters a bit so decided to draw out a scene in my story/world again, this time focusing on the Holo Sea. Fun fact, this area is merely a little 'pit stop' for my Mercenary team as they travel to their next destination.
I think part of the reason I drew several scenes instead of just one is firstly, I was having a lot of fun learning how to add effects to the final drawings and secondly, you guys gave me a lot of motivation to keep sharing my world after such a positive reaction to my last piece 'Can I have an autograph?'.
Below is the lore again written out since it was flashed by way too quickly on screen~ Gotta thank my bro for helping me edit this wall of text haha~
    ________________________________
At the epicentre was the ruins of an early Arcule research facility, originally located upon the sea floor within a rich tropical reef, now turned forest. Here, experiments were undertaken in the field of holographic projection, their research inexplicably requiring immense amounts of electrical power and the construction of a powerful nuclear fission reactor.
Hundreds of years ago, this reactor suffered a catastrophic accident, annihilating the reef and all sea-life within, however, what occurred next defied comprehension.
All life caught within the blast radius was at that moment scanned and encoded by Arcule's technology, their forms remaining as holographic apparitions.
But it was what the spectral marine inhabitants did that caused interplanetary attention, for they had then been observed interacting with their environment; avoiding solid obstacles, being startled by sudden movements, and even chasing the odd bird through the canopy.
This phenomenon, despite much effort, has yet to be replicated. How could light hold consciousness? With the facility in ruins, where are these projections coming from? How can they remain for so long and travel so far?
Most importantly, what were Arcule's true intentions all those years ago and did they succeed?
    __________________________________
Really hope you enjoyed this one enough to wanna see even more!
Cause oh boy theres a lot haha~
But for now its time to start my next 'If ??? wasn't for kids' piece!

Usually backgrounds are blocked out/blurred like that because backgrounds that pop out a lot take the focus away from the main subject of the picture and makes it looked crowded if that makes sense

I think they put a lot of contrast in the colors and dulled down the background, which means your eyes would still be drawn to the bright colors you put down as focus even if the background has many details.

She does the background and Gaussian blur it so that there’s still a bit of contrast and that there’s also attention on the main thing.

*le gasp* can this be made into a song?!?!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?! That would be amazing! It goes along with the story line and the elegance and gracefulness of the art, especially at the end where the creature(I don’t know the species or name, sorry) smiles! Where it ends off at a happy note and tune, but still instrumental, it would be instrumental with slight words sung by someone so smooth and elegant, maybe a lullaby! It would make a PERFECT lullaby! Sorry, I’m getting too into this, but such a good idea!

I gave up on art a long time ago, for years I was told it wasn't worth the effort, that I'd never be as good as the best, that my art would never amount to anything - so why bother?
I guess over time it wore me down, I started to believe it, if only a bit. I still have half finished drawings that I don't show anyone, scared and ashamed to admit how much they once meant to me, still mean to me.
Sometimes I still wish I could create a little world of my own, something more than the sum of its parts, something that carries that spark of creativity and love, something to inspire others in turn.
So to see even a glimpse into your world - it pains me, and inspires me, and I hope you keep doing it.
A part of me hopes this message doesn't get found, a divulgence, catharsis for a secret long overdue.
    Great work.

    In English:
    The holo sea
Even after hundreds of years, the truth of how the holo sea came to be remains a mystery.
Their home had been destroyed, how could they remain?
Only visible in darkness, what was keeping them here?
At the epicentre was the ruins of an early arcule research facility, originally located upon the sea floor within a rich tropical reef, now turned forest.
Here, experiments were undertaken in the field of holographic projection, their research inexplicably requiring immense amounts of electrical power and the contruction of a powerful nuclear fission reactor.
This reactor suffered a catastrophic accident, annihilating the reef and all sea~ life within, however, what occurred next defied comprehension.
All life caught within the blast radius was at that moment scanned and encoded by arcule's technology, their forms remaining as holographic apparitions.
But it was that the spectral marine inhabitants did that caused interplanetary attention, for they had then been observed interacting with their environment, avoiding solid obstacles, being starled by by sudden movements, and even chasing the odd bird throught the canopy.
This phenomenon, despite much effort, has yet to be replicated. How could light hold consciousness? With the facility in ruins, where are these projections coming from? How can they remain for so long and travel so far?
Most important, what were arcule's true intentions all those years ago and did they succeed?
    Em português:
    O mar holo

I don’t know why but this had me strangely emotional. Maybe because I’m a sucker for sea life and especially glowy sea life. Maybe because it kinda reminds me of Qinni art. It’s probably a combination of these things but these are all beautiful and almost had me in tears, especially the last one.

I swear, I wish I had your art skills! I love art, and especially watching it being made. Unfortunately I can’t actually make anything that good, and it takes me one hour to draw one feature. God bless you and your family, and keep up the good work!
I also love the way you do your animations! I like how you change a cute subject into a disturbing gore video! Love your videos! *:)*

This was SO COOL! I love it. Love the story, love the art, that last piece really blew me away! I really liked the one where she has her wings out with the sharks tho too. The lighting in that one is just . . . MMM, YAS. And the music was perfect.
