Arnel Pineda is no Steve Perry, BUT DAMN! He is the closest thing to Steve as Journey is gonna get. I'm a huge Journey fan with their complete DvD and CD collection, and no singe ever to replace Steve sounded NEARLY as good as this guy. Damn ARNEL you got some TALENT! Major props to this guy. If Steve never comes back (Which hes stated numerous times will never happen) I'll be more then happy to continue listening to them with Arnel. Thanks for the Vid, this guy ROCKS!

Arnel is so adorable
It really helps he sounds Perry esque. It will help with their transition in the future where Journey wants to move with in any direction with new material. But yeah, gotta hand it to Arnel who is living the dream. Huge fan of the band, sings covers and eventually becomes the lead singer of the group he idolized. Fun stuff.

Love this guy.. I liked journey before but now I really like 'em! Steve is good and was the journey signature sound but arnel got that raw rock&roll power voice. You can hear the soul, struggle, and pain in his voice.. it's just feels alive! Love it and it's refreshing! His voice actually plays in my head now.. Steve's was was smooth and nice.. Arnels is raw, rough and refreshing!
mounted my old but trusty radio/cassette with a cd playr jackd in its aux on my yamaha bike for a spin listning to arnel belting out those journey classics and l can hear the lyrics so clearly even with the wind going vs my ears...man,try that with steve on and you'll lose him..arnel's got the voice to sail it through...nope,no headphones,sir.just the sheer volume coming fr that battery-powered player behind me was enough to tell the difference amid the roars and honks on the road. yessirreee..

I agree. I love his smile, his personable(getting up close and, shaking hands with the fans during a performance) nature.
Even though it doesn't mean anything to how good he is, I also like the fact, he is four months(Sept.'67) younger than me. Lastly, I like the fact he doesn't have a foul mouth. Steve Perry showed that when someone threw a bottle, hitting Neal in head.

steve perry is definitely the original voice of journey. but he don't perform anymore. let's just face it that the rest of the journey still wants their music to be heard again with their new vocalist in arnel. he does give justice to what steve has performed in his prime.

They needed a humble, special and gifted person like Arniel who will be with them throughout their journey. Watch what Neil does at69 seconds, he is gesturing about Arneils beautiful heart to the crowd. After All guys, its not about how good a singer is or how many records they sold, all the difference in the world is when the heart is good and how the lovely heart of a person changes people for the good hence our actions our words all have a meaning to the other person.
Saw 'em in Vegas, last month. They rocked!! gave it their all & played like they meant it. I miss Steve in the band..That's the real -=JOURNEY=- you know? But Arnel does an amazing job on vocals.

eh i prefer Steve Perry, but Arnel is pretty good. On all these youtube videos you can't hear his voice being mixed correctly so i cant really judge him yet. im hoping to go to one of his concerts soon.

That is almost as particular as Peter Criss telling Beth that he can't go home because is finding the sound with his music peers (C'mon Catman, the girl's probably wanting some and you're telling her that you'd rather be with Gene Simmons)

He screwed up the first verse, but sounds pretty good. Journey has been pretty lucky with their lead singers. They all have similar voices and a lot of energy.
Dude, as much as I watch this video, I simply cannot say from the bottom of my heart that this Journey with Arnel is better than the Journey with Steve.
id rather see journey with arnel, he still has the voice that Steve had wen he was younger, steves voice isnt the same as it used to be many many years ago

Arnel is a great singer but Steve Perry brought Journey into the limelight. In my heart there is no replacement.

Agree. It is totally NOT cool to disrespect Steve Perry. It is as totally NOT cool as being a racist toward Arnel. Give them both their due. As missymitz said, they are both great singers. But Steve was the original. Without Steve, there would be no Arnel.
