MSX never really go to US but it was popular in wester Europe, very popular in easter and Russi and very common in arabic countries and Asia. A 8bit generation of the Commodore 64 era. it has very good sound and cartridges, a real MS dos from Microsoft but it was still a z80 quite low power computer. The advantage is that all companies like konami made their games on it.
I have the next model from Sony, Sony F1XDj wich is MSX2+ instead of MSX2. Only changed the drive (was a belt model). But the machine inside (I´m electronic Technician) is Superb. Greatings from Mar del Plata, Argentina.
What a beauty!
Interesting looking computer! Never heard of it. Glad you got to show us! Can't wait to see it in action.
