    Hey ! I went on the day of the reopening (last Sunday) and there was thunder but I felt it was worth visiting. I spent a lot of time out there ! I did it on my almost last day in SG and loved it.
    Can you also show Bedok Reservoir Park ? I was surprised on how empty the park was when I went there last Saturday.

      @yp8839 2 місяці тому

      Bedok Reservoir is more crowded in the early mornings and evenings when people go there for jogs and exercises.

    Great feature. I think you missed two more water feature in Chinese Garden - the Cascading Creek and Water Wall Court. It also has a cafe near the Cloud Pagoda called Eden. There's also Harvest Moon Terrace on both sides of the gardens.

      Thanks! I left purposely the cascading creek and water wall because I did not really enjoy them. There were so many people flouting the rules in the water area, it was full of footprints everywhere :<
      I think i really missed out the Eden though! Time to go back

    Where can I get your background music?

      @dashingheights  Місяць тому +1

      I get all my background music from Soundstripe. However it's not free music, it's a subscription royalty model.

    How do you never look sweaty if it’s so hot and humid there? What’s the secret?! 😅 Thanks for the great videos!

      Hahahahahah before each take i’ll wipe my face :’)
      Getting a nice hat helps alot. I like wearing sunglasses too, just that i dont usually wear them while on camera
      Definitely keep within shade where available
      AND KEEP HYDRAted!!

    Sadly, the “reno/rejuvenation” spoiled the original Chinese & Japanese Gardens. The reno removed so much of the Chinese & Japanese characteristics/elements of the original gardens. My heart sank to see how the gardens are “destroyed” this way. Just ask anyone who frequented the gardens BEFORE this reno.

      aw... thanks for the info. I did not know about that. Personally I thought the current garden is quite nice.

      I have to agree. As a Malay Singaporean who frequented the old Chinese and Japanese Gardens on a weekly basis, to exercise and relax, i knew both Gardens like the back of my hand. Now, I feel a sense of lost. Yes, the reno and upgrades made both garden beautiful, but the rustic charm is gone. Luckily I took many photos to remind me of how they used to look like.

      Yes, I too treasure my old photos of the gardens. Just see the old photos of both gardens, and you’ll know what @eszeezee6967 and I meant.

    Chinese garden, they managed to retain some old chinese buildings, if not it will be like Japanese Garden, "finish", there is no japanese feel like before. Out of 4 typical red bridges, only one left and place over not water, but pebbles. The buildings were modernised like hotel. Typical rock and rock lantern were put all over the place. The sunken garden is nice but not japanese, more like Jurong lake garden extension of tropical plants. Wonder who is the architect?

    • @dashingheights
      @dashingheights  Місяць тому

      Yea I agree the Japanese Garden felt too modern. I didnt know the history of the red bridge over pebble, but indeed that's one of the weirder sight hahah

      actually if i understand correctly the distinction is that the jap gardens is not as "loud" with tall features, very subtle peaceful design :)

    If you want to show gardens then show gardens, not dogs and girlfriend. Gave you a thumbs down for misleading title.👎
