No need to understand the language to appreciate and immerse into its mesmerizing artistic adaptation of the original story~already one of my favorite short stories and a great master!
Have never seen a video quite like this one for its spiritual grace and deep wisdom of life. The story contains such a deep longing for what is beyond our grasp, but is really right in front of our eyes. When we seek what is outside of our true desires, we eventually become dissatisfied. We need to look within and not be afraid or shun what we see. The music of Eric Satie, has an open, airy feel that adds a poignancy to the story...not a story of and about one, but for and about all. Thank you Dear Masha for sharing this imaginative and moving video. Bravo shulamit!
I appreciate this so much, i have an essay due and watching this made the comprehensive part so much easier and time saving. I wish you did the entire book
Excellent adaptation of one of the best stories from the Cosmicomiche. Calvino really is a master of the form, a true humanist. The adaptation is also excellent, blending the childish Calvinian sensibility with a modernist fascination with novelty. Mixing in the Hebrew text is interesting also. Great score, a really great video. Cheers!
This video is really amazing!!! Thanks for creating it. And thanks for making something so beautiful about a novel already so beautiful itself!! It wasn't easy!!
Beautiful realisation! Read the story years ago. I think the the Satie piece was used in Peter Sellars' film, "Being There", as well, along with the 5th gnossiene. Highly evocative.
@maurosgatos ehehe not so bad...after a year I came book to this video and it was again a wonderful surprise! Thank you anyway for your (very useful) answer!
Calvino is one of my favourite writer, and I've been really delighted about the work that you've made. You've chosen a really wonderful way of transposing the novel on screen. Great short movie, really. What's the piano piece? Is it Satie? I've heard it but I can remember where...

Beautiful. I felt I missed the love triangle of the story a bit but the animation was, qua animation, enchanting.
