Hi friends! You asked for it, so here it is! Join me for a soft-spoken unboxing of the beautiful board game adaptation of Stardew Valley. This game's charming exterior belies its complexity; there are a LOT of pieces inside! It looks like it aims to faithfully adapt nearly all the mechanics of the video game, which is no small task. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but let me know if you'd like a follow-up video where I play a solo game!
ASMR trigger sounds include ear-to-ear soft speaking, incidental mouth sounds, and plenty of tapping, page turning, and shuffling. I recommend listening with headphones for the best experience!

I would enjoy seeing a video of play. As someone who also owns the game (both board game and video game), I will say that it's considerably less complex overall than the video game, but because it's a board game, you don't get it introduced to you slowly. Most elements from the virtual game are represented, but in a limited capacity. The most significant departure however is that luck and mitigating dice randomness are pretty central elements of the board game, particularly with mining and fishing, which means upgrading your starter tools.
I find it helps a lot when learning the game to break down the basics of a turn: you (1) follow the season card first (like an upkeep phase in other games), then (2) plan actions together, then place your figures and either (3) do two actions at the same space or do an action, move, then do another action one space away. If you move, you can grab a forageable tile that you pass.
You repeat that process until the game ends when the season deck runs out, and along the way you need to complete all four of Grandpa's goals, plus complete six community center bundles.
There's options to make the game easier, and it's not a bad idea for beginners.
As one of the volunteer playtesters for this game while it was in development, you have no idea how delighted I am to see one of my very favorite ASMRtists taking a look at it.

Hey Nick! lemme tell you how much of a blessing this post was. I’m currently enduring my first (and hopefully last) covid week. Tested positive yesterday with high fevers of 103°. I'm sooo tempted to buy the board game bcs I love playing SDV, but it gets a lot of mixed reviews from board gamers saying it relies way more on luck than on skill. But also, I don't have anyone to play it with anyway, so...
