Speaking of sweet potatoes, they must be the warmest desserts among the snacks we’d have in our childhood. When I barely woke up, my mom would take some baked sweet potatoes from the stove and wake me up. As long as we started a fire and cooked at home, there would always be baked sweet potatoes for breakfast in the morning. Such sweet potatoes growing in the plateau’s red soil taste soft, sticky, and sweet; they’re glutinous, tender, and easy to swallow. We’ve dried some sweet potatoes in the sun, cooked steamed pork ribs and sweet potatoes with rice flour, and made sweet potato starch vermicelli and sweet potato vermicelli I like eating when I’m in Sichuan. I’m really a big fan of vermicelli, just like my grandma. She says this bowl of vermicelli is the best food I’ve ever made for the past few years!

Every time I see Penjie's gramma eating and enjoying her food, I feel so happy and it warms my heart. I lost my gramma, and she was like a mother to me and my sister... I miss her.

Her Grandma looks like a friend of mine who passed away some time ago. A big smile and always appreciating life. The same dynamic with the husband, too, gentle teasing. I love that way Grandma teases Grandpa at the dinner table! A long marriage, content marriage has that.

Does she actually live there though - I saw a vid of her real life, Bugatti on the drive and a commentary on how she once lived there, went to the city, became a policewoman, returned to look after her dad who was I’ll, clubbed money together with her mum and purchased all these recipes, started doing vids…..but her real life maybe now is far removed from what we see in these vids. I’m not knocking her - I love the content!

I watch a lot of foodie videos on here but these really make me want to get cooking. No kitchen aid mixers, no expensive kit just honest food made for her family! A joy to watch, always!

And seeing the elders make me smile because I remember how much I loved and honored my great grandparents (my Tupeyes) and felt the same feelings from them! 😂 I wish we still lived like that.

Amazing how Apenjie can take the simplest of ingredients and turn it into so many forms and varieties. It's a lot of hard work but the end result is always a delicious meal.

I only seen red yam before never orange yam but i did have purple yam as bubble tea last year. This is different than the street version in the city 🙂 I had vermicelli cup noodles twice it they soak up a lot of flavor from the soup broth the wrap of it is new to me I had the 🦐 an 🍄 dumpling of it from a take-out place once it been a long while since I had one last every thing came out great 😃✌️❤️

Очень много перца и все очень остро.Если перец убрать вполне съедобно,а так смотреть завораживающе.Очень интнресны картофельные макароны,хотелось бы научиться их готовить.У китайцев очень много крахмальных блюд,интересно это вредно?А так здорово смотрится,и девочка несомненно талант и любит то,что делает.Молодчина!

WOW, I am amazed immediately at the beginning of the video how beautiful these potatoes are. They're huge. I would desperately love to live this type of lifestyle. The Yunnan Region is so very beautiful and peaceful looking. The videos always show such peace, unity, and harmony. If everywhere in the world existed in this way we would all have much better lives.
