normally i don't find anything at thrift stores , guess it was my lucky day , the best part is i actually left without it the first time but decided to go back an hour later to see if it was still there , was exactly where i left it lol
@@timothylunderman when i first saw it i thought it looked cool but i figured it was probably one of those really nice looking but cheezy toys mass produced around christmas that really wouldnt do much , i went home and honestly forgot about it for several hours and being curious i looked it up expecting some underpowered glitchy junk pharmacy toy lol to my surprise it was pretty sweet so i went back
I also would like to make a suggestion. If you want to use the two-way audio features, it's a good idea to wear headphones. It won't cause any interference with the robot when you are nearby and, when you are broadcasting audio from the robot to your phone or taking a video from the app, it won't pick up any of the noises coming from the phone. Sorry if it's a little tricky to explain, but yeah. Wearing headphones is just all-around a good idea, especially when talking and hearing through the robot at the same time.
2:02 That is something you had to do with the Mebo 1.0 with Router Mode. With the Mebo 2.0, you just have to connect to its network directly and not really do anything else. You don't even have to wait until the "Connecting to Mebo" screen is finished before actually connecting to the robot. You just go to your wifi settings, connect to the robot's network, open the app, and it's done. No further steps are needed. Mebo 2.0 doesn't need to connect to your wifi router first before using it is basically all I'm saying. That's something you had to do with Mebo 1.0, and after you set it up, you don't need to start all over again once it's turned off. You just connect to your home wifi, and that's it.
A JST connector, got loads of the little buggers on 1s & 2s packs for my quads and heli's. Nice vid by the way, always love your enthusiasm for old toys / RC, really quite infectious. Not sure what kind of ham that is though if the cat rejects it...???!!!
That is an interesting way to look at it , it could be a great way to deal with a copperhead or small rattlesnake , i wouldn't bother a garden snake though, they are cool
I noticed the inert grenade on your desk. It seems to me, these 2 things belong together. Would the claw be able to carry it? Huge conversation starter at those boring PTA meetings...
Im not sure if it can carry that , i know the claw can hold it but the arm has slip drives in it and i dont believe it can actually lift it up , that would be a good way to be uninvited to any future parent teacher meetings lol
Well, there was the whole p2p thing that the Mebo 1.0 had, but I have heard that Skyrocket didn't really do anything with it. You were still able to connect the robot to a router, though. On Mebo 2.0, that feature of connecting the robot to a router is completely non-existent. You can only connect to the network the robot is broadcasting to control it and nothing more. You could control it from another room, though you have to be within the range of the robot's wifi.
You see, there was an update on IOS that caused an issue with connecting to the robot. And this doesn't just apply to Mebo 2.0. It applies to the original too, as well as the rest of Skyrocket's app-enabled products. Android doesn't suffer this fate, though I did hear that some of Skyrocket's apps were taken off of the Google Play Store, which would mean you would have to resort to downloading APKs of the app online. I don't know if those will work, but hopefully, they do.

The connector on the battery is a common RC connector. I don’t know it’s name but they should be easy to find in a hobby shop. Hope this helps.
i had a small pile of them in my spare rc wire box , im not sure what they are called either ,

What version is the app cuz when I tried the older versions it doesn’t work for some reason
Just found one of these at the thrift store today for 5 dollars. missing battery and charger. still happy though.
You can still buy the battery that goes in it , my rc truck takes the same type , its a 7.4v 2s lipo battery jst type
@@TheRandomMechanic I've been trying to find the official battery and the only one I can find is 30 us dollars. 😭.
I have a question someone is trying to tell me these won't work anymore because there not supported.
Yeah they dont seem to work on newer phones but if you have an old phone laying around the app seems to perfer those , we used the wifes old zte
Can you operate it remotely from another location as long as the mebo is connected to wifi?
I dont believe so , but since i didnt get a manual with it i really do not know

Skyrocket doesn't seem to care about their products anymore to fix it, though, so... Yeah, that sucks.
Hold up. I just checked the Play Store and it seems the Mebo 2.0 app is still there. It's just the Mebo 1.0 app that's gone.

Ive got a couple but nothing worth shipping , in fact i was probably just going to throw them out
