Wily actually influences the events in the next games quite a lot as well. After all, Zero was the one who had the original Maverick Virus that infected Sigma, which in turn caused pretty much every other Maverick, and then that caused the Mother Elf to be made, which stopped the Maverick Wars... and then you had the Elf Wars, and Weil stealing Zero's original body, which went on to influence the events in Mega Man Zero, and that's not even including what Zero does as well. And then Zero defeats Weil but this ends up creating the Biometal W... Wily created a lot of trouble for the world, even past his death, causing trouble all the way up to Mega Man ZX. I can't remember if anything he did affected ZX Advent though, it's been a while since I played through that, and I only played it through once anyway.

This music, this boss, the "W' in the background in Sigmas 2nd form and the fact he said to Zero "I met an interesting person", all of them show that Zero and the Virus are Dr. Wilys creation.
Did I say : _"the "W' in the background in Sigmas 2nd form"_ ? Correction: the "W" is in the bacground on the stage in which X and Zero fight each other.
Interesting fact, in Mega Man 2: The Power Battle, beating the game with bass shows that Dr. Wily has plans for a new robot and shows it's silhouette. What was that Silhouette? Zero, marking his first appearance ever and a teaser to the Megaman X franchise.

I showed this track to my friend once who hadn't played x5 yet or the classic mega man games he said this track is good, now he recently beat x5 and this track gives him PTSD.
For me not really. X5 by far has the most epic plot (in relation to other Megaman X games) and most serene/mysterious final stages BGM ever. Heck the Zero Stage BGM is so serene and mysterious it's like I'm reaching the final answer of the universe and all things... And the background art matches the feeling of the song. X5 is very inspirational, epic and sophisticated as far as art is concerned. But gameplay-wise the bosses have weak AI, that's for sure...
Even after all these years, this is still the most terrifying devil. The Devil in 11 was more gimmicky than terrifying and his weakness made him fairly easy.
One of the first megaman I played, after knowing the story from the beginning, knowing zero origin, the virus and wily then and just then you get every reference from this fight, from the background, the second form, the music and the boss itself 😮
Just think....that this Devil is the product of the Zero Virus recreating one of Wily's original combat robots and using virus's power to literally overclock it to the point where it becomes a serious threat to Reploids (Given from what Wily said that Megaman would never be a match for Zero in the past). Essentially what X is fighting is technically a nightmare given form.
My description of this boss to my coworker; "He can occupy 80% of the screen and is only vunerable in his eye. He teleports around and does ass tons of damage. You can duck and jump him, or take to the walls, press jump button at the speed of light, and jump over him when he reforms. He's super weak to one of the hardest weapons to hit him with. Then he transforms into the last bosses of some of the previous Megaman games. That's when shit gets real."
After Bass was created, in Megaman Power Fighters (bass ending) it did state that Wily was building a new robot (Zero). Bass was introduced in Megaman 7 so it had to be somewhere after that time. Megaman X is a new type of robot based off of the original megaman, but with human emotions. I get my knowledge from the games I play.
This fight was one of the highlights in X5. X5 was a great game and it surprised me actually since some of the previous games weren`t that great. Still waiting for X9 and MM 11.
I lost it when I recognize this song when I played this game: The Wily Bosses from Original Mega Man game. Thank you Capcom for bringing back my memories. :D
Seeing this Devil show up in the final stages made me wonder how it was possible even though there was that obvious W in the background. Almost as if Wily or Sigma got a hold of whatever data there was of the Devil and corrupted it with the virus. Of course I don't know if there was an explanation as to how this monster even came back.
Its still odd how the cyberspace works in that game. The fact sigma hinted to working with "someone" in there made me think a Wily AI simply used the data of a Devil but the virus in the cyberspace corrupted it. Also I doubt sigma would have gotten a hold of something that ancient since its as if everything during OG megaman's time is long gone except some stuff.
Shiki Nanaya and its really the Revenge of the FUCKING Yellow Devil, unlike the original it has some quirks, first off, it can spawn the eye in various places(Still weak to Thunder Beam though),the Swapping is much more chaotic and with no cycle it takes, it can stop mid shift and start swapping from both sides, and then it can turn into a freaking Wily Machine, add on the Remix of the Theme as well as the Wily Insignia flickering on the background sometimes, and you see his revenge at hand
+Shiki Nanaya actually with zero it was easier because when he started to throw its blocks from both sides i just spammed zero's giga attack to grant it temporal invincibility and with that i evaded a lot of damage.
I still laugh whenever people say this is harder than the original Yellow Devil... NO. EFFING. WAY! Against Shadow Devil, you can duck, you have Sub-Tanks, the weapon that's its weakness gets a full recharge every time, and most importantly, you respawn at the boss's door even after a Game Over, making it way easier to practice against.
"Alright, what's the boss? ...I recognize that music. Is that a distorted W in the background? Wait, these blobs- Oh. No! We can't escape from him even in the future..."
this is the credits theme in the recently discovered x5 prototype, which due to the credits not being in place yet, uses x4's credits screen, so you just get to see the final weapon exploding with this music playing
The first time I arrived with him after passing the Quick Man Stage (yes, Quick Man's, if someone didn't realize it's the same Stage, only adapted to the X series) I didn't recognize him from the music at first Until I saw a black ball approaching from behind followed by others in different positions, that was when I said "don't screw me." It goes without saying that the first attempts tore me apart, after 45 minutes I was doing the trick in its first phase (he kept massacring me but I already knew more or less how to hit him in addition to already knowing his weakness), then In almost an hour and a half I managed to drop 3/4 of a bar and that was when I switched to the Willy Machine from Mega Man 6 and with one stomp I took off almost half a bar of life making me an insta kill. I almost crashed the control on my television XD, luckily I found the trick of staying up in a corner by pressing the jump button like crazy to avoid his body when it was divided and it became much easier, it cost me almost 2 in total hours to beat him, but it was a great satisfaction to see him explode and finally pass that level.
IMO, if a short movie like about 6 mins or so was done with good animation and this music was playing in the BG. It would be pretty good, although the song will have to be remixed or something to give it a variety of ways to make it awesome! This get's a 4 star. * * * *
I played MMX5 blind on an emulator last year, and I got SO MUCH PTSD after hearing MM1 boss theme start to play. I spent more time trying to beat the Shadow Devil than the FINAL BOSS.
joão carlos I'd compare it more to Mud, sentient mud, but since we have no Mud type except Water/Ground maybe, and Shadow Devil deserves Dark type, Dark/Water
Oh man the Shadow Devil. This music and picture make so many bad memories of fighting this damn thing over and over just to get killed when you nearly got him...frustrating.
The Original Super Saiyan In MM1, Thunder Beam the devil, pause the screen (Select or Start), unpause, pause-unpause until devil is dead. Works on ice man too.
Koopinator As Nigel said, the key is in the early MM games Pausing and unpausing would reset the status of sprites in some manner, MM1 had a Full Mercy Invincibility Reset, which put Thunder Beam into God Grade with its large size, essentially you fire the Thunder Beam and then spam pause and whatever you be facing will die fast
Oh boy... I still remember how I struggled to defeat the original Devil... And when I played this game and saw this dude, I just went like this: ".... Really!? A rematch against the Shadow Devil!?" I soon lost my last live (Lost the others with the Force Beams* And I didnt play the game for long.
This one and mega man 1 version make you go... REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Talk about a plot twist that went nowhere. Ever since X2, Zero's been hinted as Wily's creation. By X4, it was pretty much a given, but that he also created the original Maverick Virus. X5, however, suggests that Wily may still be alive. X6 has that one reploid that looks suspiciously Wily-esque...and triggers a memory in Zero's mind as he looks upon the fallen shell. And then the plotline is dropped completely. I would LOVE to know where Sigma learned about Zero's past...who built his giant body in X5...the whole thing. The X series should have stopped with 5 or 6. I'd prefer X6 to be the last one if for no other reason than I love the Sigma battle. That and how would Sigma come back from that state? Sigma was barely functional, fueled almost entirely by his hatred for X and Zero. ...oh well...
Bluesit32 From the looks of things it seem crapcom was planning to retcon the whole X series (especially if you look into that MMX game on PSP) but then somewhere along the line they got a change of heart (probably not enough profit for them to milk) and just completely drop the whole thing down into infinite hiatus bin.
Bluesit32 Well, X5 was supposed to be the last Mega Man X game, then the series would have moved on to the Zero series which would have been much different than what we actually got. Capcom however made X6 behind Inafune's back and well fucked up the continuity.
TheBlues32 FUCKING Shadow Devil here really pushes it as well, a Remix of MM1's Yellow Devil Theme, the background will flicker with the Wily Insignia at times, Shadow Devil is weak to the Thunder Beam remake, and it TURNS INTO A FREAKING WILY MACHINE as a desperation move
Yellow Devil isn't even hard. He just has a set pattern that can be memorized. This guy is an entirely different story as he is completely random and is definitely one of the hardest bosses in all of Megaman.
Though even Shadow Devil looks harder than he actually is. While he does have access to different movement patterns, he only has three normal ones (the ones where he moves his entire body across the stage) and two where he keeps you pinned in the middle. These individual patterns never change, so when you learn how to dodge them, he falls pretty easily. Yes memorizing the patterns initially can be difficult, but once you get it down, it becomes the same drawn out fight that all Devil bosses boil down to. He becomes even easier if he decides to mold into his other form where he tries to stomp you as it becomes easy to lead him and deal a ton of damage to him.
can you quote inafume with sources? did you play the english translated games? they did omit alot of stuff from them, mostly in the process of westernization. its way different in the japanese versions.
Probably since they never finished the series. Story wise, the Zero Wily built is the same as in Megaman X physically. Maverick hunter Sigma fought the crazed Zero and won. The result was total memory loss for Zero, and a malicious data transfer to Sigma. There is no confirmed information because it was always designed as a overarching mystery with breadcrumbs left in each game. At one point in X5 Sigma flips out because Zero refuses to act as the "Old Man" programmed him to.

Then he transforms into the last bosses of some of the previous Megaman games. That's when shit gets real."
blocks, blocks everywhere
yoshi coins
This theme is sooo dark & ominous, I love it :D
the musics way cooler than the actual boss
If someone edited this to use the other megaman x instruments (like the ones in storm eagle) this would be even more amazing
Sir I think I found what you’re looking for: ua-cam.com/video/x2g6V-0EkIQ/v-deo.html
@@Mr_bukowski4435 Finally one of these comments that actually did find what I was looking for insted of being a bot
They should have used this song for the Wily Bosses in Rockman 1 Complete works...
Too bad X5 came after them :/
After Bass was created, in Megaman Power Fighters (bass ending) it did state that Wily was building a new robot (Zero).
I still remember when I 1st heard this song. It bought back painful memories of MM1 and the 2nd thing was Not you again.
It's data this exist in cyberspace find by sigma
Its still odd how the cyberspace works in that game. The fact sigma hinted to working with "someone" in there made me think a Wily AI simply used the data of a Devil but the virus in the cyberspace corrupted it. Also I doubt sigma would have gotten a hold of something that ancient since its as if everything during OG megaman's time is long gone except some stuff.
@@Animeman1993 data was just already corrupted
Sigma just find here
I suppose. Kinda wished they added more to the lore of it at least.
@@Animeman1993 yeah it's simple lore ..
I like how the theme sounds like the boss theme from the original Megaman 1
FUCKING YELLOW DE....
Oh wait,wrong timeline!
No, just missed in a 100 years :)
Poor johnny
FUCKING RAINBOW D-
Again wrong Timeline,
Gemini Man [And every Robot Master] There's a rainbow devil? If there is, what game? What stage?
Mega Man Zero 1, 2, and maybe 3
damn you shadow devil why u so BADASS
hard*
yellow devil pls
That picture...
Is genuinely terrifying.
first megaman series, now he comes for a revenge on megaman x series, its weird why he comes back but still....
Cloudmonkey its suicide to fight it as Zero
***** i know xD i beat him sometimes but its a hell to beat him
***** he just came to take revenge for beating him on the original Megaman games xD
+Shiki Nanaya actually with zero it was easier because when he started to throw its blocks from both sides i just spammed zero's giga attack to grant it temporal invincibility and with that i evaded a lot of damage.
I still laugh whenever people say this is harder than the original Yellow Devil... NO. EFFING. WAY!
Against Shadow Devil, you can duck, you have Sub-Tanks, the weapon that's its weakness gets a full recharge every time, and most importantly, you respawn at the boss's door even after a Game Over, making it way easier to practice against.
i am the only one who likes this song?
i like the music also
No i like it too i mean it LITARALLY tells you you are fucked.
Yes, it is a theme that is cool but means you can be either fucked up or fucked up
I love this track
Things that make my soul enter in deep agony: Shadow Devil theme and Lavender Town theme.
I could never beat him as a kid... but the good thing is that I can listen to his (one time only in the game) theme
"Alright, what's the boss? ...I recognize that music. Is that a distorted W in the background? Wait, these blobs- Oh. No! We can't escape from him even in the future..."
I like how they brought shadow devil back in Devil May Cry 5.
Where?
El diablo de los videojuegos encarnado en una forma física. O_o
Probably the coolest looking Devil in the Megaman series
I had bad flahsbacks with my first gameplays hearing this now
Played this outside of my house on Halloween night, scared a shit ton of kids lol.
Awesome.
Damn. Lol
this is the credits theme in the recently discovered x5 prototype, which due to the credits not being in place yet, uses x4's credits screen, so you just get to see the final weapon exploding with this music playing
Proof?
@@Daidek you may wanna check TCRF for the july 28 2000 build of x5
Sin duda el tema más épico
The first time I arrived with him after passing the Quick Man Stage (yes, Quick Man's, if someone didn't realize it's the same Stage, only adapted to the X series) I didn't recognize him from the music at first Until I saw a black ball approaching from behind followed by others in different positions, that was when I said "don't screw me."
It goes without saying that the first attempts tore me apart, after 45 minutes I was doing the trick in its first phase (he kept massacring me but I already knew more or less how to hit him in addition to already knowing his weakness), then In almost an hour and a half I managed to drop 3/4 of a bar and that was when I switched to the Willy Machine from Mega Man 6 and with one stomp I took off almost half a bar of life making me an insta kill.
I almost crashed the control on my television XD, luckily I found the trick of staying up in a corner by pressing the jump button like crazy to avoid his body when it was divided and it became much easier, it cost me almost 2 in total hours to beat him, but it was a great satisfaction to see him explode and finally pass that level.
wow, esta cancion la he estado buscando x años
IMO, if a short movie like about 6 mins or so was done with good animation and this music was playing in the BG. It would be pretty good, although the song will have to be remixed or something to give it a variety of ways to make it awesome!
This get's a 4 star. * * * *
EVIL CHURCH THEME!!
VenomLeon LoL i just realized that
I LOVE THIS MUSIC THEME 😅😅😊😅😄😈🤘🤘🔔🔔🎵🎶🎵🎶🎼🎼🎹🎹😈🤘👻👻👻👽👾👽👹👹👿😈
You cant smell evil without a Organ
I played MMX5 blind on an emulator last year, and I got SO MUCH PTSD after hearing MM1 boss theme start to play. I spent more time trying to beat the Shadow Devil than the FINAL BOSS.
This sounds awesome when dubbed with the NES Yellow Devil song.
Unfortunate, this one's a bit faster so it desyncs after a few loops.
Why am I discovering this today ? September 23rd 2022...this is awesome
Can Shadow Devil be in Pokemon as a Ghost/Poison or Ghost/Water type? That would be great.
Ghost/Water type? WHAT?!
joão carlos I'd say Dark/Water, or Dark/Ghost
Cloudmonkey What is so water about him?
joão carlos I'd compare it more to Mud, sentient mud, but since we have no Mud type except Water/Ground maybe, and Shadow Devil deserves Dark type, Dark/Water
Cloudmonkey Well, now that makes more sense.
Oh man the Shadow Devil. This music and picture make so many bad memories of fighting this damn thing over and over just to get killed when you nearly got him...frustrating.
***** That wasn't reall my problem - I can do the Yellow Devil just fine without the Pause Trick.
He mostly killed me in his "Wily Ship" Form.
how well the devil plays the piano
whats this pausing glitch and how can i use it?
[lol i know not in this game but whatever]
The Original Super Saiyan In MM1, Thunder Beam the devil, pause the screen (Select or Start), unpause, pause-unpause until devil is dead. Works on ice man too.
Koopinator As Nigel said, the key is in the early MM games Pausing and unpausing would reset the status of sprites in some manner, MM1 had a Full Mercy Invincibility Reset, which put Thunder Beam into God Grade with its large size, essentially you fire the Thunder Beam and then spam pause and whatever you be facing will die fast
Teacher: He's your final
*Music plays*
Oh boy...
I still remember how I struggled to defeat the original Devil...
And when I played this game and saw this dude, I just went like this:
".... Really!? A rematch against the Shadow Devil!?"
I soon lost my last live (Lost the others with the Force Beams*
And I didnt play the game for long.
This one and mega man 1 version make you go...
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
this brings me bad memories of playing this game and being stuck here
even up till now i still cant beat this thing even with all 3 armors
CuriousPersianCat So instead they created...Axl. Well...didn't we luck out?
CuriousPersianCat At least we'll have Mighty no. 9 to revive the legacy that Capcom screwed up
Bluesit32 Well, X5 was supposed to be the last Mega Man X game, then the series would have moved on to the Zero series which would have been much different than what we actually got.
I have been wanting this for a LONG time myself.
Music could easily be used in a castlevania game.
*Vietnam flashbacks from the 1st game returns in my mind*
Yellow Devil isn't even hard. He just has a set pattern that can be memorized. This guy is an entirely different story as he is completely random and is definitely one of the hardest bosses in all of Megaman.
+Symes With Da Rhymes Dang, at last someone that _can play Mega Man_. I thought I was the only one left.
SpiralPegasus A lot of people can play it, you’re not special.
I Play Megaman X after the Megaman Classic Series , Yellow Devil always scare me , I Play MegamanX5 , i see this :
HOLY SHIT !!! HE BACK !!
Listing to this and doing homework.....most intense math ever
This boss is hard as fuck with Zero.
As soon as I recognized this theme I knew I was in for some real shot
A freaking hour, playing non stop to beat this boss as a child
After that battle... this song haunts me in my sleep, it plays during my nightmares... * fetal position*
can you quote inafume with sources?
did you play the english translated games?
they did omit alot of stuff from them, mostly in the process of westernization.
its way different in the japanese versions.

Everybody's hearts skipped a beat once they knew that the shadow devil was behind the boss door
Dr Willy's theme
Probably since they never finished the series.
Story wise, the Zero Wily built is the same as in Megaman X physically. Maverick hunter Sigma fought the crazed Zero and won. The result was total memory loss for Zero, and a malicious data transfer to Sigma.
There is no confirmed information because it was always designed as a overarching mystery with breadcrumbs left in each game.
At one point in X5 Sigma flips out because Zero refuses to act as the "Old Man" programmed him to.
shadow devil is strong as fuck
classic music from my favorite mega man boss
