  • Welcome to this PMDG 777-200LR video.
    I will fly the VOR Z runway 10 into St Maarten (TNCM) and, at the same time, offer you a PMDG 777 VOR Approach tutorial.
    At the end, we will have a bit of fun on the beach and in the control tower. Enjoy!

    Thanks Captain Nav for doing the video as promised. Next one I'm waiting for is the carnarsie approach. I really enjoy the videos, it's helped me a lot on flight simulator.

    Hello, been watching your videos. Amazing!!! I'm looking for a few videos on pmdg 777. I am new with the 777PMDG and not able to operate it properly. Could you please make a video that demonstrates the step from LONG start up to landing? I did watch your programing the FMC and other videos but a complete tutorial is not available anywhere.

      +Siva rama krishnan Thank you, I am glad you find the videos useful. For the moment, please have a look at the playlist here with all the 777 tutorials PMDG 777 Tutorial: ua-cam.com/play/PLjZcDi4c8nLTtrDnNWm2OOoaxYJFztOIH.html

      Hey thanks. I appreciate the acknowledgemennt. Will go through them again. However I would love to see a flight from you with a tutorial.

      +Siva rama krishnan Although not proper tutorials, I invite you (and everybody) to watch the flights videos ("live stream" flights) in which I often explain things at different stages of a flight. Although not specific, I think these videos are of great value too.😉

    Hi! Captain Nav. May I know is it essential to set the speed at SEL SPD whenever you reduce the speed at MCP? One more question could you explain what is RNP and ANP in the ND ?

    • @CaptainNav
      @CaptainNav  4 роки тому +2

      No it is not essential to set the speed in the FMC. However it achieves two things: it recalculates the VNAV path with the new speed (it makes it a bit more accurate) and it also allows you to prevent the automation from reverting to the default descent speed (usually 240 kts) when you go from another mode (LVL CHG or VS) to VNAV on approach. I hope this makes sense.
      As for the RNP and ANP, to simplify it, RNP is the level of navigation accuracy required by the procedure and ANP the navigation accuracy achieved by the aircraft. In an ideal world, ANP is a smaller number than RNP. If not then the aircraft warns the pilots the level of navigation accuracy is compromised.

      @@CaptainNav Thanks for the explanation! So what I noticed during cruising is the differences between RNP and ANP is large, so does it mean ANP able to deviate the assigned path a little bit more? But during approach the differences become much smaller, so ANP no longer deviate and must be on the right path. Is it correct what I understood?

    • @CaptainNav
      @CaptainNav  4 роки тому

      Yes that's correct. In the real aircraft (not so sure about the sim here) the RNP is sometimes 4, sometimes 2 enroute and then becomes 1 (or even less) for the arrival/approach. The ANP would not be greater than 0.1 99.9% of the time, regardless of the phase of flight. If the ANP increases, it means the aircraft navigation accuracy is degraded, for example because the GPS is not working properly.
      In the sim, I don't recall seeing the ANP fluctuate much...

    Captain, I'm new in pmdg flights. How can I add more planes? I mean other planes's colour. Appreciate! Salud.

      +Carlos Micano You need to use the livery download manager in the PMDG OPS Centre or whatever it is called.

    Why you did not use ILS on this runway?

    • @CaptainNav
      @CaptainNav  3 роки тому

      As far as I know there is no ILS in St Marteen.😉
