Interesting that you went with a direct drive DC motor on this tumbler. Highland Park Lapidary has recently released what I believe to be the first commercially available direct drive, variable speed, DC motor driven tumblers. Getting rid of the AC motor and belts seems like a great idea. By the way, the 65 RPM seems a bit fast. You may want to tune that thing to 35 to 40 RPM or maybe compare to the Thumbler you have.
@@michaelc6817 i am actually going to rebuild this tumbler. The motor is a bit on the noisy side. It has been running almost 3 months 24x7. The next one won’t be direct drive but will be a dc motor with an adjustable speed.
