Thanks for mentioning about this Sean, I didn't find your vid boring at all! I thought it was really interesting esp when you were comparing TV editing to YT. Years ago, I used the free version of Lightworks for a project for my partner but I couldn't really get on with it - it took so long and was very frustrating! I do remember you have to have bags of patience, which you certainly have!👍
Your job is quite complicated in my eyes Sean, but I left school when computers were just in their infancy (1985) I am in awe of them but also not very technically minded. I assume with TV and videos etc it seems like re- writing the script a little by cutting out words and sentences so it fits in to the allocated time slot that the programme/video gets shown. No wonder you are up until silly o ' clock in the morning 😂 Thanks for letting us see the "behind the curtain" Take care Sean 💜
Very very interesting, I have been wondering how the editing process is done, I can see the artistic process now. That software program is very slick, looks like it could take about a year of regular usage to become somewhat proficient but the results are amazing. That lady is very photogenic and well spoken, but you made her look very professional in her delivery, she must have been very impressed with the way you captured the interview. I understand more about the value of what you bring to an employer, that would pay you for this skill. Obviously takes many years to fine tune to a professional career level. Thanks for sharing that. Cheers from San Diego.
nice insight into FCP Sean. I mainly edit my videos at the moment with iMovie (the free alternative to FCP) but have bought FCP for my iPad (it's £5 per month) and hope to learn it soon and hook my iPad up to my parger monitor. My videos are very simple with just some A and B roll, the odd still and title and a max of 2 audio tracks!
Making you tube videos is a skill that clearly takes lots of time and effort. Seeing this has really helped me to appreciate even more all the hard work you put into your channel ❤

Fascinating! What's the result if you cut with someone's eyes shut?
You try not too.

My goodness how clever are you Sean, I've always fancied doing my own Channel in a brave moment but blimey I don't think I could do all that 😬
