People don’t understand the character this builds. If you can take yourself seriously enough to show a pig, you have the humility and self awareness to achieve any goals no matter how lofty.

Showmanship is better to show you can retain control over the animal's movements without a halter. Same for most animals, though the local stage is usually rigged for "who you know" vs what you know. Market and breeding class doesn't matter if you use a halter, but you still have to get the animal to stand/move correctly to show it's best physical characteristics like muscle tone and bone structure.
