I had always assumed that crazy slots the clown chose the weapon. Kite's "hack" was to neg the clown by saying bad roll every time so that the clown would get frustrated and always try to impress him by giving the exact thing he needs

Maybe Pitou learned post-mortem nen from Kite. If one of the restrictions for Kite’s post-mortem nen was to declare it perhaps Pitou took inspiration from that for her ability when adult Gon executed her.
I think you're onto something. The guards were indeed very loyal, but Pitou would have had an idea of how to use post mortem nen if she had seen it performed before.

Parts of Kite were definitely fed to the Queen. Kite was the strongest human Pitou had encountered at that point and she would've committed the ultimate betrayal not only against Queen, but also the future King, for not giving him the most nutritious of superfoods.

Right, this was my thought too. I've been led to believe the Royal Guard was going to do what was most beneficial for the King. So, feeding the organs of Kite (a very strong rare!) to the Queen to make sure the King is nutritiously fed, but keeping the shell of Kite to feed Pitou's selfish desire, makes sense to me.
That goes precisely against Pitou trying to put Kite back together and revive him so she could experience their fight again.
We really have NO indication or implication that any part of Kite was fed to the Queen.

That’s something I’ve always wondered about actually. What exactly is the clown? Is it a nen beast? Is it a result of a nen restriction he has? We see lots of things made with nen, but we’ve never seen something that communicates and talks back as if it has a mind of its own. I could be looking too much into it, but I always found it odd that the clown had a personality if it’s supposed to be Kite’s own power.

It is 100% random, the theory in the video doesn't work because it's based off of anime scenes, as in the manga we only see each weapon exactly once. There's nothing to indicate that the weapon isn't random, as being random is what makes it useful, it boosts the weapons because they're rarely what Kite wants to use
Maybe the reincarnation is kind of like devil fruits, how they respawn on the most convenient nearby fruit. So Kite is reborn from the most convenient nearby mother, like you said. Kite's soul just took over the ant that would have been born anyway

I personally think Pitou fed Kite's brain to the queen and then tried to resurrect him, at that point in time Pitou didn't know anything about humans and only later tried to find out more about them to restore Kite- only to find out she couldn't do it because she had already given the brain to the queen.

Something interesting that I noticed in Kite's Fight vs Pitou. When Gon powered up it surprised and worried Kite. Kite wasnt aware of Gon's emotional power boost. He seemed worried because he didn't want Gon to trigger Pitou's curiosity about his power level and Chase the boys. That's why he says good decision to Killua when he KO's Gon. He also kept Pitou occupied long enough for the boys to escape.
Well, he used that same gun on the ants when Gon and Killua first showed up, kicking this arc off. He shot a few times and killed a few ants, so idk about the 1 v 1 and 1 v many bit. But him hating taking life, that's solid

To this day people still underestimate how insanely strong Kite was even pre-reincarnation.
Kite's ability is so excellent; crazy, fitting, creative, and powerful.
It really makes so many other abilities seem underdeveloped, or half-baked; Ging is really great for helping Kite realize his full potential like this.
Assuming crazy slots is not random at all, and provides the right tool for the situation, then I would guess the following is going on: Rather than using luck as a trade-off, Kite offers up control over the outcome. By adding slots to the machine with solutions that do not fit Kite, yet these solutions must be used as per the ability, he's essentially creating a condition which is essentially the same as a sacrifice. However there are 2 important differences. First of all the act of losing control could itself boost output, depending on your interpretation. And also, you don't need the sacrificial condition when you're up against something too strong. Consider the alternative ability of sacrificing one life, in order to gain some sort of weapon. If you're up 1v1 against something strong, you're basically powerless. Yet crazy slots guarantees that when you're up against something strong, you just need the ability itself. Thereby significantly increasing its utility and reducing potential failure conditions.
It sort of make sense since it felt like Kite didn't know majority of the abilities of the weapons (or probably he did knew but had no control to use that certain ability)that is within his slots except for those that he had already used in certain situations,plus Ging was the one who crafted all the abilities that Kite already had, so it can be also be a condition for added power

Yes, it is. They literally tell us that Crazy Slots is random. We know with nen conditions that something like randomness will increase the effectiveness of the ability. Why would Togashi explicitly tell us the ability is random, and by the person who uses the ability, that it's actually not random? This is something HxH fans never cease to amaze me with. We explicitly are told how an ability works, and people want to say "no, Togashi is actually wrong, the ability actually isn't random" (which would make the ability weaker than if it were random).
Crazy Slots is random. There's absolutely no evidence that it's not random, yet there's plenty of evidence that it is random, so much so that one of the pieces of evidence is the ability user outright saying it's random.

That fact being that Ging explicitly mentions that there is a number Kite only rolls when he desperately doesn't want to die. That fact alone contradicts your response.
You should really reference which chapter you are talking about. I'm assuming here you didn't just say that from memory without verifying you didn't misremember. I did look up episode 194, which explains the ability. I can't find any other reference to any other explanation, and I don't remember one. It's been a while since reading the manga from start to finish, so I wouldn't remember such a detail probably. However, let's consider 194. Kite confirms that he can't choose the number (still aligns with my theory), and the absurdity of creating such an ability this is pointed out. Randomness is never directly mentioned, just implied by the ability being a slot machine. Kite also mentions he finds it annoying, which actually fits with my theory as I speculate his dislike of the outcome is what is used as a sacrifice. Focusing on the absurdity like that while never confirming the exact mechanism behind could very well be a set up that suggest you're not understanding the ability.
Also, even if it is "random", that doesn't mean it cannot be changed. In Japanese culture, luck plays an important role and is considered an attribute you can possess. My theory still works if you instead say that the ability provides a sort of ironic luck, in which Kite gets an ability which he doesn't like but does do the job he needs it to do. Like he's always succeeding just not in a way that is preferable to him.
Also I didn't every say Togashi is wrong, do not put that in quotes and apply it to me. Clearly that is just a strawman you've created, and that kind of response is uncalled for. If you just referenced the chapter where you believe I am proven wrong, then I would either admit I was wrong or provide my reason why I still think I'm right. At that point we may disagree, but never did I say I think Togashi was wrong. I believe that he implied it was random from context, when in reality there is a different explanation that explains the seemingly weird choice for an ability. Especially since it contrasts so strongly to Kite's personality. And I will keep believing this until I'm proven wrong properly.

Do I need to provide an reference if I say Pitou's En is oddly shaped and is in the form of tendrils? If you want chapters and pages, I can provide that, but you can just ask for it instead of diminishing something that was explicitly stated in the text.
There's honestly no point in even responding to you if you seriously think there's no support that Crazy Slots is random when the author literally makes it as plain as day that it's random. You can't find any panel of Ging saying Kite will roll the number when he doesn't want to die when the situation comes up, he just says there's a number that's available. That means if his normal rolls can be 1-9, then when he doesn't want to die, his rolls can now be 1-10. I take it you either haven't read the manga, seen the anime, or are everything you think about the series is from someone else telling you what the series is about, or maybe I can give you the benefit of the doubt and if you read it, you read an unofficial translation. Cause actually saying there's no reference to support that Crazy Slots is random is probably the most illogical thing in this comment thread, or at least showing signs of not paying attention to what the text literally says. The Japanese text explicitly says it's random.

Just when I think a character’s ability is cut and dry Liam then Injects a new theory that gets me thinking that things aren’t always what they seem.
So my guesses are like this:
1. Kite whichever weapon was last has an ability to transfer him to any corpse and posses it.
2. After Kite took over that girl corpse it was fed to ant queen
3. Meruem absorbed all animalistic and monstrous parts during his birth making Kite normal like human.

So to put it simply, Kite ability would allow him to live but only by taking over the corpse and we already seen similar abilities.
Kite was unlucky/lucky to be immediately fed to the queen, which normally would combine him with some animal and make him an ant thing.
However Kite was again lucky that Meruem was so op that he absorbed the strongest parts that ant queen was feeding them at that time, taking over all monstrous parts and leaving kite with only his pure taken over body parts being reincarnated though ant queen.

So normally Kite would be stuck in the corpse, but he was lucky to have ant queen reincarnate him into living being and lucky that Meruem took monstrous parts during his birth.
The reason for my theory is that:
1: Kite would not use ability that would steal some ones living body.
2: Kite body for sure was not fed to ant queen.
3: Kite would not kill new born baby soul.
4: Kite has no way to manipulate how ant queen reincarnation process works, so Meruem must have been the one that allowed him to keep his humanity as he was specially created ant.
5: Kite would expect to have some corpses around if he were to die and they should be compatible with post death nen as they should generate some as well.
So kite should be using both his post death nen as well as body post death nen to obtain heighten ability to posses it.
The theory that Crazy Slots reincarnated Kite takes such a huge assumption. Ging says there's a number Kite has when he really doesn't want to die, but that's very different from a number that reincarnates him. We only see Kite use Crazy Slots three times, and each of those three times was a different roll. We saw that it doesn't require the Queen to eat someone to make a chimera ant. Pouf is able to make a chimera ant hybrid with the body.
Koala talks about how souls work in the HxH world, which I'm glad you mentioned because people tend to conveniently ignore that conversation. If Kite is reincarnated into the nearest birthed creature, that creature would've already had a soul, unless he kicked out that soul, or there are two in the body, ala Alluka and Nanika. If you're right about the soul of the previous girl having actually left and the Queen ate an "empty" body, thus accepting Kite's soul, that could make some sense.
Also the idea that Crazy Slots actually gives good rolls is contrary to all the evidence we get, that those are actually bad rolls. Kite was just a very proficient fighter, so it makes sense that he can use "bad" rolls and still come out ahead.
kite's ability in the face of death being the shonen jump equivalent of wander's hat in wander over yonder(giving you something even if you don't think you need it with how kite presented himself.)/his reincarnation being a dark if bit sweet version of polneraff soul getting stuck in the turtle sounds interesting in the possibility of kite going through all his crazy slots during the fight.

People think the other rolls would include other weapons such as a sword, but I think the reason he calls some rolls bad is because he doesn't like killing so he probably also has some non-lethal weapons, maybe he has a way to paralize one objective and multiple objectives at the same time by using a net or a blowgun or even something crazier, like a hot air balloon to get out of a situation.
Or maybe something not combat-oriented, but more useful

It turned him into the spirit that exists inside devil fruits. When he died his soul simply transferred into the closest living body still waiting to wake up.
My headcanon is that kite couldn't bother choosing what his nen ability would be and went "i don't know, give me something random", but i also believe that him getting a powerful weapon results in bad luck later on, while a weak weapon gives him good luck, which is why he would consider 2 and 4 to be "bad rolls" even though they come with really powerful weapons, what he considers good might be something that guarantees his safety, which in this case, might've caused just the right series of events that lead to his revival.
Maybe it's designed to randomly pick a body to possess, and just like crazy slots itself, it's completely random
The dialogue between the slots and Kite create confusion as illustrated by Gon when he was like, “you made it this way”. The opponent would never know that weapon is their maker.
I believe the Slot number 3 he got increases the probability of Kite's survival given the circumstances. His reincarnation as a chimera ant was simply an unlikely yet existing possibility at the time that got more likely via his ability. Risky Dice basically.
Have you ever tried to tackle the size of the planet featured in HxH? The initial maps from the early arcs make it look like Earth, just upside-down and rearranged but as we zoom out, even "Lake" Mobius is twice that size.
For real, The planet must be similar in size , to like Neptune or something. Assuming each continent of the human world is roughly the same size as our continents.
The contrast of many things being overexplained, while other things being underexplained, such as kites fight and abillity, Ging, some agency of the zoldyks, make the mystery behind the characters and their agenda much more mysterious and interesting.
Kite always being dissapointed in his rolls could also be explained by the saying “That which we need the most will be found where we least want to look.” ~ Carl Jung ; Which would be on par with the restriction system of nen making the ability stronger. As he might get the best outcome for the situation, but in a form that he disapproves the most.
I hope one day we'll see kite again in the manga. Hopefully she describes her battle with pitou, and maybe we'll get a flashback of the fight.

the randomness of the slots , seems to be the similar with Omnitrix in Ben 10, which was a long standing questions, where Ben always doesn't get the alien he wants. Which creates an interesting fight scene, where he had to adapt to the fight with that wrong alien choice

I have a theory that Kite actually has a nen beast which is the clown. No where else in hunter hunter do we see a supposedly nen ability with a seeming consciencess. The clown talks back to kite, and seemingly knows what number it’ll land on in my opinion. And if we go with the theory the rolls arnt actually random. Then they are picked either by Kite’s sub-conscience or picked by something else. No other nen ability has something that creates a being with a conscience that talk back against their owner so my theory is what the clown actually is, is a form of nen beast that resides in the staff, that would explain the “randomness” how the nen could be used even after death, and why the clown is the way it is

This is completely false. Togashi literally puts in the text that it's random. What more could people want than the author explicitly telling you something. I can't comprehend how people are told with no ambiguity, that Crazy Slots is random, yet people are saying "no, Togashi is actually wrong, it's not random." If you can't take the word of _the author_ then you can just make up whatever in your headcanon. Anyone saying Crazy Slots isn't random either isn't paying attention to the series or are refusing to accept details that the author explicitly tells us in clear language.
That "theory" is one of the most illogical theories because we're literally told by the author through the ability user that the ability is random. There's no evidence of this "not random" theory, yet there's clear evidence that it might as well be proof, that it's random.

Thirdly, kite himself could not be aware of this fact. The whole point is that the source is what Kite said and what’s been revealed so far. Togashi also recharged how the power system works, where people can now be in between types. Lastly, theories are always for fun, don’t hate on ppl just bc they like making them. I don't see what other authors have anything to do with this author. Secondly, Ging only said there's a number where Kite really doesn't want to die, that doesn't mean he'll roll that number. Where in the manga does it say he'll roll that number if he really doesn't want to die? For all we know, the number just becomes available along with the other numbers to be selected. If he not ally can only roll 1-9 and number 10 is only for when he's doesn't want to die, his rolls now could be 1-10 instead of 1-9, meaning the spins are completely random. You are assuming things and saying how an ability works that wasn't explained in the manga. But I guess it doesn't matter how anything was explained because anything could be a lie, so why even determine what's canon? Thirdly, Kite would be aware of this fact because it's his ability and he's further developed it along with Ging teaching it to him. Togashi didn't change the power system, people have always been able to be between two types, even since the nen system was introduced. You must be confusing people learning and training in categories with their being innately efficient in a category. For example, Kurapika is considered between Conjuration and Specialist, but he's innately Conjurer, but Specialist when using scarlet eyes. He's not innately between Specialist and Conjuration. Leorio is between Emission and Enhancement but he's innately an Emitter and Emitters have a much easier time to learn and gain proficiency in adjacent categories: Enhancement and Manipulation. Notice how there isn't a single person who happens to be between two categories that aren't adjacent from their innate. It's almost as if that's how it's intended. Lastly, it's crazy how sensitive you are that anyone who says something contrary to your opinion is seen as being heated. Good to know instead of dialogue, you just go straight to ad-hominem. Theories are good to think about, but when the source text literally tells you something that makes the theory illogical, the theory becomes moot, and trying to cling to it just shows you either refuse to accept what's canon, or you think the author is incapable of saying how the world they created works, which would mean nothing in the series is worth accepting because you can just change whatever you want on the basis of "the author could be wrong." Using that logic, we can say the illustration showing the placement of people with respect to their nen category is wrong because Togashi could be wrong. See how that makes no sense? You're getting heated because someone pointed out the illogical idea of your theory that doesn't make sense considering it's established that Crazy Slots is random, period.

I don't think Crazy Slot #3 was even meant to be a mace. As we've seen before, the clown head isn't usually the weapon itself but is typically on the bottom or handle of the conjured weapon. It's more than likely a staff or something capable of healing injuries- such as the arm that he had just lost moments before. He was able to hide the pain quite well, but if he truly had a desire to survive, I'm sure he would have wanted to heal his arm first to have a fighting chance. If he gave Pitou so much of a challenge that it impressed him to the point of developing an entire Nen ability for the sake of preserving him (Doctor Blythe), its very impressive he did so with just one arm.
My thought is that he had a slot number that was used to record his nen and memories- similar to Pakunoda's Memory Bomb; which was somehow transferred to another individual who was then consumed by the Queen. That, or the fact that Kite's Crazy Slots has a degree of sentience has something to do with it. Perhaps it was able to travel on its own via post mortem nen and transferred the "Memory Bomb" into the infant Chimera Ant.
As an Alternative Theory to that, the fact that Chimera Ants usually retain physical attributes of their composing parts leads me to think that none of Kite's DNA was consumed by the Queen aside from his brain- which is ironically the only characteristic that that Chimera Ant Kite inherited.
Kites soul could have stolen the next available body born into existence, that was nearby.
Kite has that slot 3 option, which gives him a nen reset 🤔 and like you said, only if he dies or something, but man, Kite was so damn cool with one of my favourite abilities

The thing about slot 3 is that it doesn't even _look_ like a weapon. Its intended use isn't immediately apparent just looking at it. It's just a short stick with a clown head on it. It looks almost like a key.

The ability has to be used before it disappears. Killing was never explicitly stated as a requirement.
Maybe the slot got 10 numbers, 0 being the hidden number only accessible through death or activation of all the other numbers. Additionally, a nen vow to make him forget about it.

I think Crazy Slots definitely isn’t random but Kite still can’t choose the weapon. It’s probably why the clown is sentient, it’s up to the clown and what it thinks is best based on what Kite feels.
I also think there is a good chance that 3 isn’t the special weapon and it was a different special number (maybe 0) because at least in the anime, Pitou does show some damage from the fight, and it doesn’t make sense they would want to fight Kite again if he just stood there with number 3. Also it being randomly number 3 that reincarnates him is just weird.

No, Crazy Slots gives a random roll each time. It doesn't give the most suitable weapon. That would go against the condition set for the ability and also goes against the explicit text of the manga where Togashi literally tells us it's random. There's no ambiguity with this - it's random.

Why is it that all other chimera ants that remember their past selves acceptable through in verse explanation but not kites??? 🤔🤔 I don't think it's because of his nen abilities. As you mentioned earlier, togashi is typically always explaining if not over explaining situations. I assume he didn't explain this because it was already explained
