- Chikka Devaraya Sagara Dam near KRS Dam Brindavan Garden Mandya tourism Dams of Karnataka tourism. The lesser know Chikka devarayasagara Dam was built in 1706 and has been functional since. This ancient dam has been serving its purpose well. The Chikka Devaraya sagara Dam is also a famous movie shooting location where many Hindi, Bollywood, Kannada sandalwood and other language films have been shot. The famous yester year movie pakeezah was also shot here. The 300 hundred year old Check dam is long and the water flows with great seep during monsoon and also during KRS Dam water release time. Do not enter into the water here, as the currents are high along with the force and the river bed is slippery due to rock. It is very dangerous, so do not attempt to swim or play in the water here.
