After watching this video and looking to see if we have rear windows in K200's in Australia. I never noticed til your comment that they don't. You can order what you like from factory , so I guess someone would have a rear window. Was always good to rip the rear blind down and back into a yard or space on your blind side. Made you look good if someone was watching 😂😂. There is a 13 month wait on the KW's here too. Enjoy your videos. Dave
Good morning, Mike. White Freightliner first truck I ever drove.......long time ago.... It really is going to come down to cost Mike, a triaxle on a cabover is just something you don't see hardly ever, but the cost? Air bag suspension upgrade would look and be great and should be a lot easier to install.
just watching some of the older vids that I haven't seen.....In answer to your K200 question...never seen one with a rear window, normally there is an A/C unit and behind that would be the pipes for twin air cleaners and twin stacks. although some run single stack one side and air cleaner pipe otherside
All ways think it's sad walking around any wrecking yard all that great equipment that once ruled the roads or the skies ,guess it proves nothing is forever ,unless MIKE gets his hands on it then it is reborn ,keep it up MIKE love watching your video,s over breakfast here in Adelaide Cheers Kym Adelaide
Porter greetings! ❄️ Truck junkyards are so cool! Why would you go with NO tools?! Oh boy! You’ve learned your lesson! 🧐 Get whatever clip you can, as long as it’s not a spring suspension. If it will do what you want and still make it ride nice, then go for it! 🤩 love the old cabover Freightliners! I’ve seen a few that had windows in the back, but not many. Hey, you can buy the cabover cab and give your kids a place to play in the wintertime. 🤩 Hey, that’s how I did it when I was a kid. 😎🥰✌️
Im thru amd thru a pete and kw fan but my favorite of all cabover's is the old style white freightliner cabover's. I dont know Why i like em so much but they have always been my facorite
you should just buy the hole cab take it home get all the parts off of it you want /need and then haul it off or cut it up for a wall hanger!! that way you dont have to go back and forth looking for stuff!!! keep up the good work thanks for the videos
Was watching another show an they had new rails folded to the original size an made them as long as they wanted an fitted late airbag suspenison to a old 70s truck so you can do that also
I always think of the what if instead of just what I am looking for. I always find something unrelated to what I am even working on. My front pockets were always carrying more tools than could walk with comfortably.
Follow your dream and extend Kenny, make him a tri axle and if that means possibly using Freightliner chassis parts which give a possibly better drive then go for it.
Mike, on that 362, did you check to see if its steering column has the turn signal switch assembly? It`s missing on Stubby(Mr. Stubs). Also are all dashs on K100s black? How about checking the door frames on that K100 cab for Kenny. Or would that be difficult to remove? Again "harvest" as much as you can afford from those two cabs. Fan for L&S?
Always great wrecking yard video's Mike! Stick the windscreen back in low and slow and go and get that whole kenworth cab for a nice price! Best of luck with all the trucks! P.S. next time, tools and boots when going to the wreckers😅
Went to a boneyard in February, in Canada with no hat, boots, gloves and most importantly, no screwdriver... sorry, you don't need another Mom or wife, but thanks for bringing us along into the boneyard, I love seeing all the old trucks, sad though, these former road kings rusting slowly away, while vultures pick at their parts. Thanks Mike. Tim L. MN
Mike, do you need the center dash for Kenny or K2, both are bad. How about taking both gauge panels, just for spares. And does that K100 cab have that rear bunk control panel that's missing on K2? I would strip out that cab. Take what you can. Same is true for that 362 cab. Can always use spares, especially the gauges. Is that the only truck yard in your area? Keep up the good work.
Mike. May be the Peter built tri drive chassis is a good idea.its new and straight. Drop the front axle off and you are made. I no its about money but you have it all there right under your nos????
I think get the suspension for Kenny along with the dashboard, the dome light for Low n Slow and see about a sleeper vent for K2. Is there anything you can get there for Mr Stubs? Wiper parts? That's an interesting scrap yard. It's surprising they won't sell you the whole rear clip as you would like. Do they have a section/shed/warehouse for parts they have already removed? (Engines/transmission for K2?) Next time you visit to get the parts you want, please show us around more. Sorry for all the questions. I like a good scrapyard.
Mike, Mike, Mike, Don't ever go to a yard unprepared ! Boots for anytime of year, junkyard complete cheap carry tool set from the Harbor and most importantly, baggy clothes and pants with real deep pockets.
Hi from uk 👍👍 Seems a shame not to be able to purchase axle nd frame of tri drive (""breakers yard that wont break a 🤔"") probs want sell hole unit? At wat cost tho ? Would not give deal buy hole thing then buy what you dont use back (make sense ) but up to you just dont bust the budget 👍🤑 #keepontrucking #staysafe
You should cut the window frame out of the peterbuilt at junk yard so you have piece to graft back to low and slow and don’t have to 100% fabricate it from scratch
Need to get lownslow back together so you can do your large parts run. The tridrive frame would be awsome for Kenny even if it is a freightliner frame and suspension.
Kidney Buster is what the old timers used to say about the cabovers UNTIL they started putting bags up front as well as the back [originally there was no bags end to end and they destroyed the lower Back]. White Freightliner
Have you ever seen the K100 Aerodyne that featured the full size sleeper door on one side? My understanding it was only offered once as a VIT package or something. I dont know the year, but it still had round headlights.
@@mikethetrucknut I'm thinking you're right.. I've searched high and low today for it, and come up empty. Oh well it was cool just the same! On a similar note there IS a cool tri-drive with Canadian flag theme!
If you change the frame what does that do for registration? In Ireland the registration lives with the chassis, so if you use the 2019 Peterbilt chassis with the 1980's Kenworth cab it would in essence be a 2019 Peterbilt over here.
my thoughts: i think a freightliner rear clip makes sense, just so many out there, should be cheaper? I would love to see a tri-drive cabover. I bet for the right money they would let that 2019 go. may just be more than you want to spend. no work for them and a quick flip, you are the salesman, shmooze them :) maybe talk you r dad into driving it, make some money with it, while also looking cool, provided he can still climb up there :)
Thoughts - Stretching Kenny is not that cool, really ... You have a long chassis Pete. Do you like driving it? How's it around town? Kenny is cool as it is. Unless you are going to put a Drom deck on it (?), what's the point ... IF you are putting a Drom deck on and getting a step deck to go with it - sure. Of course you have Stubby, but that's a long ways off. IF Stubby will stay short (?), OK maybe Kenny stretched makes some sense ... But if you actually have to maneuver these trucks in urban settings, shorter is better. And you definitely do not want to be sitting on a 20K front end on a long chassis. It'll beat you to death. Much better putting Mack cab-over taper leaves under it and riding smooth. What's your plan for your mini-fleet? What are they going to do? If you are going to build a drag truck, go Freightliner with 16V92 (lighter) and a manual shift Allison with TQ converter ... Aluminum front axle, aluminum diffs, etc.
Check out the Rush Green Motors videos. Lots of old trucks dating back to the 1960's. Some for sale as projects, Foden, ERF, Albion, Seddon, Scammell, Bedford, Leyland and many others.
If anyone is interested in C/O parts, there is several of them in NW PA, a little town called Youngsville, near Warren. I know there are Pete, Freightliner, IH, KW, and what looks to be a Diamond Reo. They also have a pair of decent looking Diamond Reo conventional tractors for sale. They were a Diamond Reo dealer, so it's possible they have other Reo items. Also a KW W900A short hood that looks pretty rough. I believe the name is W.W.Williams. If interested I can try to get a phone# for you.
Could you leave Kenny alone and use that short 5th wheel as a dolly for a low loader trailer perhaps. I am not a trucker and don't know what can be done
The Western Star bin truck I drive has air liner I'd take spring suspension over it any day, its the only air ride truck I've had experience with thou, doesn't ride that smooth, rolls like the love boat, terrible traction off road.
Always bring tools with you Mike when you on the hunt because you never know what your going to find.
I would use whatever parts that's affordable to complete your project. A running truck beats a lot of great ideas
Yes Andrea agrees she hates having trucks in the yard that don't run.
I like this type of videos where somebody goes for a hunt and search for things in scrapyards.

1979 freightliner cab over my dream truck oh yeah definitely.
Andrea said no more cabovers Mike, remember!!!! Ahh, what does she know, lol.
I always think of the what if instead of just what I am looking for. I always find something unrelated to what I am even working on. My front pockets were always carrying more tools than could walk with comfortably.
Air ride clip is awesome
Twinsticks might want that upper grabrail and the locker door off the K100.
That white freightliner emblem on front would be cool shop ornament

Please do a hunt around the yard for parts. Love these old trucks
USA you always can look at United States yards to see if you get a right clip for that Kenny

Good luck with the parts buddy keep warm an safe out there
Can you pull some parts on that 362 Pete and ship to south tx have an 81 big bunk going to work on

Mike you should take a trip to Utah they have lot of clips that your looking for where heavy D is just a thought.
Hello hear in Australia Most Kay bober trucks have Windows in the back for Slight for backing on to their trials .
Please live Keney ALL Kenworth
Crocs in the snow. Impressive
Think I'll keep my crocs for summer 😁
Try to leave without a complete truck...🤣🤣
You should cut the window frame out of the peterbuilt at junk yard so you have piece to graft back to low and slow and don’t have to 100% fabricate it from scratch
You should bring low and slow and take the entire cab!
Need to get lownslow back together so you can do your large parts run. The tridrive frame would be awsome for Kenny even if it is a freightliner frame and suspension.
Grab the thing you need "Cabovers are getting real popular" when you find them, replacing the rear clip with air ride I would deem a up grade.

Freightliner clip is cool enough, loads of stretch is naff. Been done way too often.
A tri drive cab over now that's a idea maybe hub reduction axles think you should do it mike

Yeah a cabover Tridrive would be super cool.
@@mikethetrucknut a cabover Tri drive would be awesome Mike .
get your screwdriver for the light you need then get the suspentio for your kenworth
Do what you want
noticed that Pete cabover at the wreckers has a chrome viser. if its not bent on drivers side
Those old cabs sure can tell a storey where they have been
Chris from England
nothing wrong with airliner and yes we have options to have rear windows in our cab overs
Can you remember the Volvo white gmc trucks?
You need a ignition barrel for K2 grad it that one with the dash and the wiring harness,
Yeah and the heater controles
The windshield might be worth saving in reserve.

Yes as long as they fit you have to measure the width to see if the will slide inside or outside on Kenny.
You never know someone may need these cans someday....
I see alot of people using the freight liner cut off
I sure wish we had bone yards like that here in the UK Mike! Would certainly help when you are restoring one.
Check out the Rush Green Motors videos. Lots of old trucks dating back to the 1960's. Some for sale as projects, Foden, ERF, Albion, Seddon, Scammell, Bedford, Leyland and many others.
Classic Motors Great Britain posted a couple of video's and 4 photo albums a year ago. Very interesting.
@@michaelcooper6800 yes I have heard of Rush. I was kind of referring to the fact I don't have any Kenworth's to cruel around!

Hey thats my line 🤣
They'll still look the same in a junkyard or in your yard
Hey from Canada ont
Buy the hole cab and break at your leisure
Its your truck so build it however it makes tou happy
😎👍
Buy the whole tri-drive, use what you need and then scrap the rest.
If it fits it ships....a tri drive cabover would be mint dont see those to often
Especially a K100E
If those old cabs could talk u wouldn't know to run or listen to the story's they could tell you lol
with you being a salesman get in touch with insurance people and they would know when a tri-axle wrecks and buy it off them if its cost worthy
Could you leave Kenny alone and use that short 5th wheel as a dolly for a low loader trailer perhaps. I am not a trucker and don't know what can be done
Most frame's are going to be the same just measure the width if going Strech the truck but a dump bed on it a four bag air ride is the Way to go
Hey what’s up Mike? Get me something good from there. ;)
You should have spite shoes on for traction and a hats and gloves and a face mask on 12 - 12 you can get frostbite and buy 6 minutes
Should try buy whole cab never know what you may need.
Yes, for sure
i need the windshield and weather strip
To answer your question, Mike: no, Aussie K200s don't have windows in the back of the sleeper.
Make Kenny a tri drive
Sale the truck or cutting it up in to scap. Me I like the the way it is..
Play in snow ❄️
Got 10$ says you can’t get that dash out in under 3 hours ;)
keep Kenny Kenny. there enough confusion in this world without that too.
You must be in CANADA Eh? Doesnt look like the minus 12 I know of
Its in one until Mike gets his hands on it
If you build a tri-drive you will be expanding your shop... lol
I have a 06 pete in the field with a C-13 ( bad #1 hole) ex frac tractor. In. GP if interested Cheap
Can you send me some pics and info Glen. mchamberlain@peterbilt.bc.ca
Will do
Easier to take the lot Mike...
Were is this place

Tri drive k100 keep em to the conventional rrucks
Id have grabbed it there and then to be honest. (The dash parts )
