@@kory.j6561Miguel broke a Canon Event because he tried to live the life of another him and be the father of that Miguel's daughter after he was killed. its incredible that both this game and the spiderverse movies can be experienced without any knowledge as the other and they work perfectly as standalone pieces of media, yet they have absolutely no issue meshing togeher
Who else is here from Across the Spiderverse movie? Because that 2099 Spider-Man needs to hear this as well. *EVERY* life is valuable, and not expendable. Someone isn’t a hero *just* because of what or who they lost, they’re a hero because of how much they care and what they’re willing to do *despite* what they may lose or have lost. Not as a pre requisite, but a possible factor. It’s called not being a hypocrite and extending that care to everyone and those around us. *THAT* is what makes heroes, Spider-Man or otherwise, and *that’s* why we follow, aspire to, and eventually be them: So that we can save each other one try, one hand, and one care at a time.
Well Miguel tried that and saved his daughter, but his entire world eventually destroyed itself. So he’s technically trying to help the other spider-men the best way he knows how
Did you people even pay attention to the movie? The spider-men saw entire universes collapse for trying to save "everyone", this is why most spiders don't switch sides and stay with Miguel
@@Blue-kd3sqthing is the universe Miguel was in wasn't his own, he went there to take that universes Miguel O'Hara who died. But him keeping Miles from saving his father atleast try to save him and everyone in his universe from spot would just contradict what Miguel wanted. I really wish Peter B. In ATSV had more moments, especially ones like this. Like he almost had one with miles and showing them his kid, but it felt like he got a slight bit of the “Red Guardian” treatment in this film. Almost like nothing he said mattered to those around him. Even when Gwen asked him to back him up, he kinda acted… well I don’t know how to put it, but just not right. If that was 616 Spider-Man (it isn’t, but I guess it was this movie’s version), he would have been a bit more stand-offish to 2099.
This what spectacular Spiderman should've said to Miguel and helped start a rebellion within the elite sider army and help Miles. After all Peter Parker looked the other way one time and it cost him uncle Ben. That's why he wears the mask, because with great power there must also come a great responsibility. All those Peter's should know better than to turn the other way when they know someone is in danger. Also i just really wanted more spectacular spider-man 🕸️
If it makes you feel any better, I think Josh Keaton on a Twitch stream said that Spectacular may have been freshly recruited after he had experience the Death of George Stacy. This may imply that he was a more vulnerable into believing the whole canon event explaination as a means to ease his own pain of losing such a trusted ally. Since this is a voice actor saying it, this more of a head canon so to speak. I wouldn't be opposed though if in the next movie, Spectacular begins having doubts about trying to stop Miles group from preventing Officer Davis demise and the over means of the Spider-Society ensuring canon-events do happen. 2099 then says something along the lines of "looking the other way", which then Triggers Spectacular and causes him to defect to Miles group, or have an immediate conflict with Miguel, before defecting.
I find it interesting the two voice actors they got were at the time considered the top Spiderman voices. It shows they didn’t just throw a dart at a wheel.
This version of Peter Parker would have sided with Miles if he is in Across the Spiderverse, and give the entire Spider Society the same lecture as he did with Miguel.

Kinda understand where he’s coming from tho. Peter and miles overall just wanna save everyone but Miguel would make the hard choice to sacrifice 1 to save many
@@andrewleyton6689to be fair in across the spider-verse he saw 1st hand that changing canon would destroy a universe. Miguel doesn’t want to risk the lives of millions for 1
@ascendedsavage7040 I don't get it, tho. If it didn't happen yet, then how is stopping it, breaking canon? Canon is part of a story, and before it happened, it wasn't canon. An example is in dragon ball z beerus, and the other gods of destruction weren't canon because they're not occurring in the story atm. If it doesn't happen in the story, it's not canon till it is. So miles saving his dad isn't breaking canon as his dad didn't die, and him not dying would be then considered to be canon.
@@undertalefire22 the movie kinda explains that they use a algorithm to analyze multiple universes to make predictions on future events using information attained from those universes. It’s not actual canon like in stories that’s just the name they gave it to describe the events

Something to understand is that you can’t save everyone. It’s true and hard to deal with. But that doesn’t mean you can’t try to save everyone. That’s what it means to be Spider-Man, to try to save everyone even if you can’t. There’s the whole debate about spiderverse and I get there’s really points to both but I feel Miguel is blinded by his grief.

Ngl probably my favorite set of voices for Spider-Man. Spider-Man 1994 as Spider-Man 2099 and The Spectacular Spider-Man as the present day Spider-Man. Both shows were cancelled too soon although ‘94 had 5 seasons.
I guarantee Miguel purposely didn’t include Pete or his variant from Earth TRN-199 because guess what: they’re the Edge of Time Spider-Men. Which is when Peter tells Miguel that and I quote: “what’s important is not standing by and allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don’t know that, then you don’t know the first thing about being Spider-Man” because he knows that those two, maybe not that Miguel but definitely that Peter, would cause every other Peter and probably every other Spider-Person to turn around and realize what they were doing.
This Spider-Man and Earth-616 Spider-Man would be disappointed in the whole Spider Society. I mean not being able to save everyone is one thing they can understand, but keeping someone from saving a life, I’m sure these two would point out that if Miles fails to save his dad, then the Canon event is gonna break and everyone in Miles’ dimension will perish, because Miguel is doing the same thing he did the first time he broke the canon, he was messing up someone else’s story.
I'll give you the reason why but you're not going to like it because in your eyes you want the character to grow up to be with you but the character is written to be the average person and that's only thing going forward you can't have the character grow up to be having a marriage having a family and going forward because you ruined the character you would have to change the entire business model that this book has been done for almost 70 years going forward Business model keep him single and that represents the average person reading the book and that's what represents them the most when you have Ultimate Spider-Man you have a character that's already married having kids and being represented it's a big difference and big difference on business model on how you do those characters you got to think about creative and interesting storytelling if you have a writer that does interesting storytelling going forward I don't think We dont need to have Peter get married have kids in the main core books
@@theelitebattleangel I get that, I just think that canon events become disrupted when someone from a different universe does something to interfere. So if Miles does save his dad, because it’s his universe, nothing will happen. Think about it. Miguel said that he broke the canon in a universe with a different version of himself and that caused the whole universe to erase. Miles unknowingly did the same thing in Spider-Man (Indian)’s universe when he saved the Captain and that caused the canon to disrupt. But when Gwen revealed her secret identity to her father, who was going to be captain, he didn’t become captain, and Gwen realized that because it’s her story, she can change what happens in her own universe without any anomalies, nobody else can, just like only Miles can change what happens in his universe. So canon events might not be disrupted as long as nothing from another universe interferes.

u didn’t pay attention to the movie, Miguel is guilty of exactly what Miles is trying to do. When he tried to save “everyone” his universe collided with the other and collapsed
@@kory.j6561 Miguel’s full of it, besides even if that were true or not it’s still no excuse for him to be such a demented brute.
@@kory.j6561Miguel broke a Canon Event because he tried to live the life of another him and be the father of that Miguel's daughter after he was killed. He did what Kingpin tried to do in that last movie. That girl wasn't HIS daughter. Miles isn't trying to do that. He wants to rescue HIS dad because that's what heroes do. Heroes don't choose who lives and who dies. They're not gods. The Peter Parker from Miles' Earth was going to die either way. He was never going to be able to stop Kingpin. It was a miracle that Kingpin's brought that radioactive spider to Miles' Earth. Even if it was an accident, sometimes accidents like these are just the way the universe expresses itself. And that's just how Spider-Men are made; through accidents.
@@kidprime6863 In fact Miguel didn’t become Spider-Man by accident, but instead he became Spider-Man on purpose.
I would love to see this animated in the style of the spiderverse film in the room that shows the different realities.
I came back to this for a reason cause I know certain Spider-Man wouldn’t let anything happen like this in the movie
Considering Unlimited Spider-Man shows up a lot (background character models), it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for there to exist multiple versions of Miles, Spider-Gwen and Miguel. (Plus it's just really funny to picture Edge-Of-Time Miguel interacting with Shattered Dimensions Miguel because of how different they are)
Planty Films here on UA-cam just uploaded a video today showing this
“Lyla, do the thing.”
“What thing?”
“‘What thing?’ The information explainy thing!”
Imagine they introduce Edge of Time Miguel into BTSV and have him recite Peter's monologue word-for-word to Spiderverse Miguel.
If Spider-Man from Edge of Time would have a word with Miguel O'hara from Beyond the Spiderverse, I get the feeling that Miguel would say "Where did you get that? A fortune cookie?"
It's so wild to hear 90s spiderman and spectactular in the same game, but so cool
I like this version of Miguel way better than in ATSV. Even though he knows he needs to protect rhe future, he agrees with Peter knowing he can't leave MJ to die. He seems more human here.
I think the reason why Miguel is like this IN ATSV is how much hurt he became after wiping the whole multiverse, that guilt would fuck any man up you know?
"If you don't get that, then you don't get the first thing about being Spider-Man." Well well well
And what's important escapes you.
*Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099):* It's a Canon Event.
*Peter Parker:* What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being Spider-Man.
Josh Keaton will always be the voice I hear when I read a comic book with Spider-Man. To me, he perfectly encapsulates what Peter Parker needs to be
its incredible that both this game and the spiderverse movies can be experienced without any knowledge as the other and they work perfectly as standalone pieces of media, yet they have absolutely no issue meshing togeher
*THAT* is what makes heroes, Spider-Man or otherwise, and *that’s* why we follow, aspire to, and eventually be them:
So that we can save each other one try, one hand, and one care at a time.
@@superheriber27 No, just the spiders *he* found and sought after. Selected likeminded individuals, not spidermen/women as a whole (on the good side).
@@Blue-kd3sqthing is the universe Miguel was in wasn't his own, he went there to take that universes Miguel O'Hara who died. That's when the universe collapsed and he lost "his daughter" the second time.
He went on about how each spider-man goes through their own canon event otherwise the spider-verse would collapse in on itself. But him keeping Miles from saving his father atleast try to save him and everyone in his universe from spot would just contradict what Miguel wanted.
So really lot of people look back at this scene and said this spider-man would've back miles up atleast point out trying is better than sitting around and do nothing.
Me this reference makes so much sense after the movie

@@IAMSONICTH3H3DG3H0Gwhat’s that supposed to mean.
I wish this version of Peter was in across the spiderverse, just to see the banter with this Peter and across the spiderverse Miguel.
Me agreeing with Peter after watching across the spider verse
I love that ATSV drew some kind of parallel plot with Edge of Time.
Came here from Across the Spider verse. Yeah...someone really should've said that line
1:11 MY FUTURE IS MEANINGLESS WITHOUT HER!

Also i just really wanted more spectacular spider-man 🕸️
well 616B peter is the one miguel most respects so hopefully pete will teach miguel about that lesson
2099 isn't "looking at the other side"
He experienced first hand how intervening can lead to greater disaster

If I were in the same room with Miguel in ATSV I would say this to him 1:00
Peter is The one who doesnt get it.
There’s no way spectacular Spider-Man was going for the cannon sh.t

Everyone's talking about how Miguel needs to be told this, meanwhile everyone else in the Spider Society was acting the same way
I will use the "If you don't get that, then you don't get the first thing about being Spider-Man" when watching across the spider-verse and see why Miguel is a huge A-hole
Edit: I saw it….I STILL STAND ON THIS LINE!!! So much that….
EDGE OF TIME MIGUEL = CHAD
ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE = VIRGIN

@@ascendedsavage7040but that one should be themselves maybe Spider-man can't save everyone but that doesn't mean he has to stop trying
@@andrewleyton6689to be fair in across the spider-verse he saw 1st hand that changing canon would destroy a universe. Miguel doesn’t want to risk the lives of millions for 1
@ascendedsavage7040 I don't get it, tho.
Miguel telling the OG Spidey "you’re the one who doesn’t get it"
The nerve….If Peter wasn’t Spidey you wouldn’t even be Spider-Man Miguel!!!!
I kinda wished they mentioned this game in across the spider verse, considering a version of spider man 2099 was in it. Would've been so cool.
They probably couldn't because it would've been contradictory to Miguel lol
@RealRoboKnight You mean THAT Miguel. This was co-written by the OG creator instead of some imitation.
Maybe in beyond the spider verse we’ll get a cameo of Edge of Time Peter and all the other Spider-People not included in Spider Society
When you don’t care about canon events lol, this Peter would have helped Miles
This scene shows the big difference between Peter Parker and Miguel O'Hara's mindsets.
They phrase how they're saving worlds.
Miguel goes by "the world" but Peter goes by "my world."
The latter might look selfish on the surface, but deep down, it means Peter cares more of the world than just being the place he and many live in.

1:11 ONE MORE DAY COMIC STORY: IS THAT SO PETE????
Something to understand is that you can’t save everyone. It’s true and hard to deal with. But that doesn’t mean you can’t try to save everyone. That’s what it means to be Spider-Man, to try to save everyone even if you can’t. There’s the whole debate about spiderverse and I get there’s really points to both but I feel Miguel is blinded by his grief.

This is the reference from Spider-Man across the spider verse part 1

Ngl probably my favorite set of voices for Spider-Man. Spider-Man 1994 as Spider-Man 2099 and The Spectacular Spider-Man as the present day Spider-Man. Both shows were cancelled too soon although ‘94 had 5 seasons.
Miles think just like he’s teacher
the voice acting was peak here
0:46-1:08 Basically across the spider verse in a nutshell
I guarantee Miguel purposely didn’t include Pete or his variant from Earth TRN-199 because guess what: they’re the Edge of Time Spider-Men. Which is when Peter tells Miguel that and I quote: “what’s important is not standing by and allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don’t know that, then you don’t know the first thing about being Spider-Man” because he knows that those two, maybe not that Miguel but definitely that Peter, would cause every other Peter and probably every other Spider-Person to turn around and realize what they were doing.
This Miguel >>>>>> Miguel from Across the Spider-Verse
they gotta remake this and make it "full"
Ironic since Peter Keaton is on Miguel's side in Across the Spider-Verse.
I'll give you the reason why but you're not going to like it because in your eyes you want the character to grow up to be with you but the character is written to be the average person and that's only thing going forward you can't have the character grow up to be having a marriage having a family and going forward because you ruined the character you would have to change the entire business model that this book has been done for almost 70 years going forward
Business model keep him single and that represents the average person reading the book and that's what represents them the most when you have Ultimate Spider-Man you have a character that's already married having kids and being represented it's a big difference and big difference on business model on how you do those characters you got to think about creative and interesting storytelling if you have a writer that does interesting storytelling going forward I don't think We dont need to have Peter get married have kids in the main core books
I kid you not this quote came to my head during ATSV and as a long time spider-man fan it made the experience of watching it in theaters much more epic
The respectable Miguel o' hara
Everyone always brings up the line about what it means to be Spider-Man
But they always leave out my favorite line from Miguel.
