  • It's what we have all been waiting for for some time now - the curtain has been pulled back to reveal some fantastic new functionality in SOLIDWORKS 2015. If you did not have the chance to take a look at the SOLIDWORKS 2015 beta releases and scour through them for the new features that would be most important to you, sit back and take the tour with the tech team here at Javelin.
First off the Mark will be the Chain Pattern Feature - which is one of the marquee assembly enhancements presented in this release.
This is one of those features that I've wanted to have available to me, way back when I was designing food safe conveyors. To be able to dynamically drag a chain based pattern around an open or closed path is an excellent way to ensure proof of concept when working with all sorts of chain-style geometry.

what kind of mates have beetwen the gears, to move it in syncronization?

I have tried this earlier for making chained wheel robots. Chain component pattern is OK. But when I provide motion to the chains, only the chain moves and not the sprocket. Please reply with proper answer for providing motions to both chain and sprocket together

How well does this work with Cable Carriers?

How did you do sprocket and chains, and all about calculating? Thank you.

    Thanks for the interesting video.
How we can make it moving in "Motion Analysis"? Can you please tell any way for that? Chain pattern is good for connecting the chain links but when we apply pathmate to one of the link, only that particular link is moving in "motion analysis".

Have you tried setting a motor to one of the cogs? And are you sure all of your chain links are connected in some way?

How to mate chain onto sprocket

Why can not I play it on "motion analysis"?

What exactly are you trying to do in motion analysis? If you set a motor to spin a cog the while thing should operate provided you set up the correct mates. You can't just click and drag the chain though

It should but unfortunately this does not happen, maybe I'm doing something wrong, it would be great if the channel did this, but in a more complex set, because in solidworks when the set is simple it works, but when it has more than 300 pieces the thing complicates.
      thanks for the answer.
