I just got back from PVR and did the Yelapa Tour. Just want to clarify that it’s more than just seeing the waterfall. The waterfall was actually optional. Tour included free bar on boat transportation, snorkeling with gear, banana boat, other water activities, umbrellas by the beach & funny show on the way back 👍
Oh and we stopped at another location first for the water activities, then went over to Yelapa for waterfall OR simply enjoy the beach. Oh and the boat also took us by the edge so we could see the beautiful towns passing through 👍👍
From where the bus dropped you off, you could hike the coastline too, then take a boat all the way back. We took a tour with a guide (David), and it was a lot of fun!
Great video. My wife and I and two youngest kids just got back from a few weeks in Vilcabamba. Thanks for all your recommendations through the years. :-)😊
Smart move taking the bus to Boca de Tomatlan and going by boat from there.. However it always better to buy round trip on the ferry for several reasons but the mostly so you have a spot saved on the ferry o the way back in case they sel out of space..
My friend and I just went there last month, and had the same experience as you guys, I even had the shrimp burrito for lunch too. The next time I go, will try to get the water taxi from Boca de Tomatlán looks like a better option
Brings back memories of Yelapa in Dec 2018. Def. lush and green then. Def. El Tuito bus from PV to Boca & boat along the coast line (we even saw whales) the way to go. We walked to the little waterfall, with plenty of water rushing down and pooling. Hanging out at that beach by the pier was very relaxing after all the walking (and way less busy than in your vid - seems like Yelapa is getting quite busy). Also loved the car free alleys to wander & meander. Didn't know it was strictly locally owned and protected from greedy development - niiice. And could have also stayed another day or two. Thx Eric & Sarah, for your enthusiasic and informative clips, and great drone footage - will check out more!
The rainy season is so late in Mexico this year! Last year at this time, everything in Jalisco was so green. This year the mountain outside my window in Ajijic is still winter brown.
Umm there were a lot of kids swimming but didn't see any snorkeling. I think the waves make it a bit too murky for that (although could depend on the time of year too). We paid everything in pesos!
Saddly you were there in dry season! The rainy season starts on June-July and ends at October-November! That waterfall is beautiful when its rain season oreven late rain season :(
just so you know, you walked to the Bottom of the waterfall , if walked up the hill you would have come to an amazing pool of water that cascades down to the pool you were talking about, when in doubt ask the Locals
I just got back from a trip to Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. Went Monday July 24 to Yelapa. Uber from PVR to Boca then water taxi to Yelapa. MISERABLE experience. Gross water, mosquitos and hardly any waterfall even though this is the rainy season. And I have been traveling to Mexico for over 15 years and speak fluent Spanish. Maybe it's better in "dry" season but my experience was not a good one.

We always take the bus whe we travel, it's cheap, always available, and the people are so nice. We're going soon, so thanks for the tips.
I spent a week in Yalapa about 35 years ago. Very sleepy, chill village. The water was a beautiful blue. A nice restful week.
Yes very sleepy and chill! Love that about it though :)
Heading to Puerto Vallarta in October. We are taking the Yacht tour out to Yelapa, appreciate your video and looking forward to it! Thanks!

Amazing!! We still think about Vilcabamba frequently. Glad you enjoyed it there :)

It's crazy how dry this spring was in Mexico! Many locals were saying it was unusual!
Hows the tempreture at AM in in Mexico please?
That was a long line of tourists
I'm so glad I visit Veracruz and Orizaba 😅
This makes me want to go just for the beach margarita’s haha great video!
Nothing hits quite like a beach margarita 🌴🍹☀️
I'm currently traveling in MX. I'm in the mountains and wanting to go to the beach soon.
What time of year were you here.
This was filmed in April!
There is a trail from Boca de Tomatlan that gets you to Yelapa
Oh cool! Sounds like an adventurous way to get there :)
Do you know how long is the trail to Yelapa??
Good people you made it thete So BLESSED to go there. Have you been to Australia/ new zealand?
We haven’t but would love to one day!!
Thanks for the video. Is this beach good for snorkeling for kids? (If has fishes) and did you pay in peso or usd?

Yeah, it is dry becouse of the weather. It is much more better when it is green.
We'll have to return in the rainy season next!

Don't mosquitos hate peppermint? Avoid deodorants.
Water taxi? Sounds fun.
Looks like you haven't traveled much!
Tourism is a killer of authenticity and ecology.
