Time for some performance upgrades! Bilstein HD shocks and 100lb Sport springs going on the rear of my 914.
Springs from @914Rubber : 914rubber.com/...
Shocks from @pmb_performance : pmbperformance...

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Just finished upgrading my 914’s rear shocks. This was a big help!
Great!
Nice! I put the same Bilsteins on my 914 with 160# springs and it was a big improvement. The heavier springs should be just right with the incoming Subaru flat 6 swap. 😎
Sounds awesome! Are you running a rear swap bar too?
@@barefootgaragejax9252 no rear bar yet, but do have a 19mm front bar. I still need to do front shocks and bushings then I’ll see how the balance feels. But much work to do first on the engine swap.
Good luck! Front shocks aren’t bad. You need to separate the ball joint. I tried the unbolt and tip out method but failed.
just picked up a donor outback for my 914! EZ30d, what engine and management where you looking at?
Great car. Just wanted to comment about the lower spring perch. You say there is no spring capture, you installed the perch upside down. if you flip it over the spring cannot move. I have seen springs slide off the bilstein perch from guys installing them the way you did.
Good catch- I’ll certainly fix this!
@@barefootgaragejax9252 Just looking out for your safety, I want to keep watching your videos. Good stuff 👍
Good call.
Nice walk thru! What lift jack did you have under the body, and is it electric or hydrolic? Looking for a decent quality lift.
It’s called the EZ car lift. Facebook marketplace score. It’s a manual scissor style and you lift/lower with a corded drill. It’s not you can roll it around or pack it up if needed.
Question: do you not need a bump stop to the shock?
You should be able to reuse the stock ones. Mine never had front stops that I recall
How’s the ride? My FiLs 914 has 180# springs and is much lower. Too low to even look under and rides like a horse drawn wagon.
Huge improvement over the KYB stuff!
