I wear Old Spice and im in my early 20s for the exact reason you said, it reminds me of my grandfather who I used to buy it for. The P&G to my nose is slightly less spicy than the Shulton one I used to buy for my grandfather.

January 2022. I've only been able to find Old Spice Classic here in America for the past several years. Not the Original. Old Spice has never lost its popularity... often sold out at Walmart and corner drug stores. So when I find it, I often buy two bottles. The aftershave appears to be more popular than the cologne. Probably because the aftershave isn't as heavy as the cologne, and it's always appropriate... at the office, running errands on the weekend, dinner at someone's house. Whenever. Wherever. A nice light scent to wear anywhere. I personally don't find Old Spice aftershave a seasonal fragrance here in the US. My friends where it all year. And judging on availability at stores, It's sometimes hard to find any month of the year. Old Spice is certainly a nostalgic fragrance. Everyone's father, uncle, and grandfather wore it. So the legacy continues. It's a no-brainer, go-to fragrance when you're on the go and don't have time to decide what to wear. I certainly have more expensive fragrances that I wear often. But like my grandmother used to say, "Money doesn't buy good taste." So price has nothing to do with it... at least for me. And judging from the popularity of Old Spice here in America, I don't think the affordable price has anything to do with the decision to buy the aftershave. It just smells great, evokes nostalgia, and makes you feel good wearing it. Thank you for your video presentation. I enjoyed your review and look forward to watching more and following you on social media. Sending you all the best from the US.
I’m in my 40s and remember my father and grandfather wearing Old Spice. My brother and I would give bottles to them as well as uncles, older cousins, etc. as Christmas presents. I’d like to pick up a bottle just to smell and remember, but not to wear!
Hi J. B, That's fantastic. You know, it's actually still very wearable today! I'm a big fan in splashing some on after a shave. However, make sure that you buy the "Original" and not the "Classic Cologne". The Classic Cologne is a reformulation in a plastic bottle and doesn't smell anything like the one we remember. Meanwhile, the Original smells just about right. Best, CP
I have 4 bottles of Old Spice , each are somewhere between half and 2/3s full, all with the gray cap, but 2 of the OS Original AS and the Cologne are P & G, the one Shulton AS is the Old Spice Lime.
I enjoy your videos, they are informative and well-spoken. I'd be interested in a video of your top 5 or 10 choices for best aftershaves and/or colognes, with reviews.
Thank you for this video. I live in New Orleans, and I've worn Old Spice After Shave for about 20 years. I work at a high-end department store and get compliments all the time on how I smell. Men and women love it. In Louisiana, you can wear Old Spice After Shave year 'round... it must be a Southern thing. The heat and humidity during the summer actually work well (along with your own body's reaction) to bring out the true scent of Old Spice. It's definitely not too heavy here. Old Spice is a classic. I wear it daily. My second choice is Chanel Bleu... for special occasions. Funny, in the US Old Spice costs $7 and Chanel Bleu is $130. I love both. But Old Spice is #1. My grandmother always said, "Money doesn't buy good taste!" She's right considering how many compliments I get when I wear Old Spice. Thank you again for your video.
I too work at a high end department store and am planning on using Old Spice among the best of the Chanel and Mont Blanc colognes. Would this store be Dillard's Department Store?
Since you have such a good nose for sents, a real professional, I wish you would get a vintage bottle of o.s. people who wore it when it was Shulton said it smelled better than the p.g. version? More complex and less synthetic.
My favorite. But hard to find. I think i am looking for; after shave? cologne? perfume? original or classic in white bottle. definitely, not the deodorants which are much available in stores.
Good video, but many people, including myself, simply cannot stand the new version of Old Spice. You pointed out that many people like it because it reminds them of their dad or granddad and therefore has much meaning for them. This new Old Spice just is not acceptable for those of us who used the real thing by Shulton. I bought a bottle at a local shop and was immediately disappointed by the cheap, ugly packaging. But, once I opened the bottle, I recognized immediately that this was merely a weak copy of real Old Spice. I tried to use it anyway, but just couldn't get past the difference which is very pronounced to my nose. This is like "New Coke" to me. I love original Old Spice, but simply cannot stand this. Young people who have never used the original my be able to use this, but I feel like it is mislabeled. Thanks for your video.
Watch out! The "original" Old Spice is very close and almost identical to the one we knew from our parents and grandparents. What you're describing is the "Classic Cologne", which is absolutely hideous and bears no resemblance to the real Old Spice. Sadly, the Classic Cologne is what predominantly sits on shelves in the USA and the Original has become very hard to find.
I'm 20 and I own both modern, and original. Original is definitely better. No comparison. I plan on getting more, and stocking up on a supply, before all of the vintage stuff is gone forever.
My grandfather wore this, however I never once smelled it on him. I dont know how or why. I just saw the bottle in the bathroom. I just remember him smelling like an old man but no aftershave lol..
Hello! In the written review, we list a couple online retailers where you can find it today: bespokeunit.com/articles/fragrance/old-spice-aftershave-review/ Rafael
If you want the "original" you need to look on eBay. The one with the grey top is the vintage one, and is considered to be better. I own the vintage and the modern "classic" (red top) and I can say that the vintage is definitely better.
I bought a two for one EDT and aftershave deal to test both side by side, and there is absolutely no difference whatsoever in fragrance; longevity, or sillage between the two, it's bizarre - it appears that they've just put the aftershave splash into a spray bottle. I prefer the old formulation by far, the new one is no longer particularly strong smelling at all, or, unfortunately, particularly masculine.
From what I gather, the new versions of Old Spice are completely different from the original one. Having sampled it, I'm very sad to say that it's lost most of its original charm.
Hi Chip, Unfortunately, this could probably be said about many fragrances if not all of them. It's actually a subject that I do indeed to further explore in the future but I'd rather not be vocal about it until I've informed myself. Best, CP
My Grandfather wore Old Spice... My Father wore Old Spice... and I wear Old Spice.. ALSO, I have my fathers original 1970s Old Spice, still half full, and it is much stronger than the modern "classic" Old Spice.
This isn't hard to believe at all, we've found with many fragrances that they've been toned down by the manufacturers with the passing of time. Nevertheless, still great to hear that you're keeping the Old Spice family tradition alive! Rafael
In my opinion, they have ruined the bottle. I used Old Spice back in the Seventies, and I can tell you that the fragrance has weakened since those days, and the current bottle design is insipid and not very effective. I bought a bottle about two weeks ago for the first time in about thirty years, and am very disappointed that a real classic has been tampered with, in much the same way as Coca Cola tampered with its original recipe. I won't be buying it again.
Hi Rob, Unfortunately, the "original" Old Spice that I covered in this review has been replaced by what the brand calls "classic cologne". It's a far cry from the real thing and really sad that the fragrance we knew and loved has essentially disappeared. All the best, CP

@@danielroy8041 You're welcome to start your own channel or media platform if you're an authority on the subject. I wholeheartedly disagree about applying fragrance to textiles. It damages the fibres and creates unnecessary wear. If it's a t-shirt, who cares? But one of our primary topics is fine tailoring, suits, and shirts. Similarly, a fragrance doesn't cycle properly when applied to textiles as it doesn't produce heat or the oils that help the evaporation process, which creates a sillage ans projections.
I have tried many fragrances over the years, but the one that I will never forget is Old Spice. I don't know, it touches something deep inside.
It's a classic frag! And one which many of us associate with loved ones who wore it when we were younger.
It doesn't smell the same as it did in 1950s and 1960s.

As a young boy I always wanted to use Old Spice. And now when I am older enough to use it. It is great.
Glad it's still around! Many times these classics fall out of favor and stop being produced.

Somewhere years ago someone on a forum mentioned they would put a new bottle of Old Spice in their attic over the summer to age it.
That's an interesting idea! I wonder if it makes any difference.

Pretty sure that if Steve Rogers (Captain America) wears Cologne, This is The One.
Why not Savingcream in Europa?
It's popularity in India is very high
No surprise here - it's a classic.

Old Spice and Hai Karate take you back if you get a whiff. 80’s kid.
Can this after shave be used a cologne ? Logitivity ??
