I have not seen this movie yet but I will definitely watch it now. Chadwick Boseman was such a unique, wonderful talent. He draws you in with his charisma & genuineness. He will be truly missed 💔🖤💔RIP
Love this behind the scenes and this film was brilliant, truly epic, and captivating. One of the best films of recent history. The landmine scene with Jonathan Majors was one of the most tense scense I've ever witnessed. I truly let out a tears of joy and great sorrow all from this story and character. Chadwick Boseman blessed the screen and Delroy was phenomenal
Great job Mr Lee. So many memories for me and so many unknown facts were revealed that have given me much new knowledge. And Marvin Gaye in there really brought it home for me. Thank you for this film and the tears I needed .
Why didn't this movie get a Oscar for best movie,Oscar for Spike Lee,A Oscar for delroy Lindo amezing acting work. Its been a long time ago that i Saw a movie this good,i was blown away by how good It was.
The My Son temple were built by the Cham, the original inhabitants of Central Vietnam who had been genocided by the so -called "Vietnamese people" or ethnic Kinh. When a Cham girl went to secondary school in Arkansas, she was harassed by fellow students. She told that the Cham are the Native Americans of Vietnam. This movie is a double standard they would never confront the main problem of Kinh supremacism and racism. The Kinh also are so obsessed with whiteness they love white men and hate dark-skinned people in general.
There are a couple of things that are inaccurate in the film. They are as follows: Paul says he did 3 tours, 67 through 71. The problem with that is the 1st Infantry Division left Vietnam on April 7, 1970 and returned to Ft Riley, Kansas. As the 1st Infantry Division returned to Kansas in April of 1970 and Marvin Gaye didn't start recording the album "What's Going On" until September of 1970 and it wasn't released until May 21, 1971. While Gaye's album was popular, it wouldn't have had significance for the 5 veterans given to it in the film. Those songs didn't exist during the time they were in-country.
