I’m a woman and have higher pain tolerance, I didn’t really find the whole process extremely painful. I’ve had cramps worse than getting a tattoo. I had it made by a really good and known artist in our circle so I would be sure it would look as good as I wanted it to. The after care is a bit uncomfortable bc it’s itchy. Tattoo is basically a wound and picture it healing. The artist recommended a cream to put on it that helped. I forgot the name of the cream, it’s been over a decade and I still love my tattoo.
Got my first tat in Siargao in the spur of a moment after having coffee 😂 It’s a small wave design just above my forearm and it actually looks cool! 😅 best souvenir I could keep from the trip!

A tattoo looks great if it's a good tattoo but I have seen some awful ones over the years, especially portraits. and the bad taste holiday tattoos.
