The fact that she actually thinks that it is some kind of rule is laughable! It's just a tool used to make the customers think/feel that they matter to the staff. In reality it's all about getting the most out of their pockets and out of the store so that the next person can get the same treatment.

I've spent $800 for a phone before, but I have not stood in line to do it. What I like to do when I see a phone that I like is wait until the next model comes out, then buy the model that I like. Usually drops $100-$200 or more in price, the tech is still very new, and it has years of support left.

And I love how people never try to apply this to any other job. You don't work there, so you don't know how the job is done or how long things take.
people use that phrase wrong i think. it's specifically meant only for supply and demand. the customer makes the market and the market is always right and it's up to stores to make the supply for whatever market they choose. if someone wants a haircut that the barber thinks will make them look stupid then the customer is always right in picking what they want.
conversely sellers have no obligation to meet those supply demands and can (and should) refuse service to rude and disruptive customers. the customer is always right does not apply to the idiot phoning dominos for a curry.
