How much did it fully cost to build it? I’ve been debating rather getting this kit though I’ve heard it’s about 20k total to 40k.. not sure what to believe!
Christian Guerrero depends on the donor car and all the other upgrades like bigger brakes or better suspension. What id do is just get a donor car and fully build the car and upgrade as you go
Get an 06-07 STi from a rust belt area. 2 grand because the parts you don't need are rusted out. Used sandblasting cabinet. I'd recommend rebuilding the motor. You can get a bulletproof rotating assembly for 2k. Use factory brakes, car is on a 1300 pound diet. Just blast calipers and paint them. Rebuild trans, buy all new wheel bearings. Call it good.
I believe the 40k is if you have someone else build it. Or if you buy a mint low miles donor. Better brand new rebuilt from a rust bucket than stock low miles for a lot more money. Seals and gaskets are 12 years old minimum, so rebuilt is better no matter how low the miles are.
Cheapest way to get started is buy a wrx from somewhere like copart or some other salvage auction place to get your donor car. Then you can get wild with it
This thing looks insane! How did you get 400+ HP out of that Subaru boxer motor? Also, fantastic paintjob. The green and black go well together. Hoping to build my own kitcar soon, would you recommend picking one of these up?
It’s obviously turbo and you can use the sti motor and tune it over 19psi stock. If you went bigger injectors , fuel pump , exhaust , down pipes , up pipes etc etc etc then e85 jesus your talking 700plus daily driver
They should have been smart about it, and used the k20 platform. So many more available, and far more reliable of a motor, and far greater parts available.
There was method to Factory Five's madness in using Subaru components. Foremost was that a single donor car would provide all the necessary parts. That's a big cost savings, and might lead to more of these kits being completed. Any other front wheel drive car I can think of, would require an additional source of some vital drive train or suspension components, which introduces extra cost and possibly some amount of scarcity.
Most sites online say under 4 seconds 0/60 most cars in that bracket achieve around 12seconds or less qtr mile depending power to weight ratio. Which these have power and NO WEIGHT so the ability to accelerate is quicker than most lol 😂

Too many screws on dash. Lean to hide them. Green paint is nice.

yeah there are a few front LSDs available. I know Cusco makes one.
