Hey Justin! The rehandled Bowie Knife is incredible! The finished Sheath is awesome! So... together... they are INCREDIBLY AWESOME! They're going to look mighty cool hanging from your belt! WOW!
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors I know what you mean! My air conditioning decided it would be a good time to die... so I'm not looking forward to the rest of July & August here in Indiana!
Nice job, i'm stealing that modified fork idea, always wanted some of them leather tools, but that should do what i need for my little leather jobs, thanks for sharing
Made it home from work and got a bite to eat and check in with Mr. Peden and see what he's up to today. I like the style knife and cross draw sheath ( is the name of style ) you put in the intro. 🛠️ ✝️💪
I really enjoy your videos, very entertaining and informative, no put On’s, you show what you know and present it very well. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep watching! Thanks
Man, that thing turned out sexy as boots on a rooster! That rawhide should make that scabbard as hard as Chinese arithmetic! I was right there with you when you said you wished you had cut some fringe when you were putting on the rawhide. But it probably turned out even better like this! That thing looks at least 214 years old!. Jerimiah Johnson would be proud to tote it!.. I really appreciate you just rolling the film while you were deciding how in the world you was gonna do the job. Some folks "pretend" to be spontaneous and you can smell the fake a mile away. This was perfect! What you see is what you get. You make some enjoyable content, fo' sho'... Y'all try not to burn up!!
I pride myself in being authentic and sometimes it hurts my pride to fail at things on camera but i agree that folks know when you faking things. I think some things faked to make good footage is ok as long and you not trying to pass it as real.
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors You nailed it there. Staging a setup is what makes a good looking video, and good editing like you have on this channel really kicks it up to a high level, but nobody is fooled by trying to pass something off like it's just pure luck that you caught that very moment on camera. That's what makes the REAL moments shine so bright, like when you hang a good fish and look like you are about to pass out from excitement. You and ol' Brody are the real deal!
Howdy: I'm really anxious to see that next primitive rawhide sheath build. LOVE the way this Bowie sheath turned out! I've made a few, but none as good as yours. Keep making things. That's why I sub to your channel, to watch y'all make things. God bless: Dave
I REALLY LOVED THE VIDEO AND OF COURSE THE "SOUTHERN BROTHERHODD ACCENT." I'M FROM FLORIDA AND WHEN I WAS A CHILD, I WOULD GET EMBARRESED WHEN I TALKED. ACTUALLY HAD PEOPLE WANT ME TO TALK WITH THE HARDCORE SOUTHERN ACCENT. GETTING PAST THAT, I REALLY LEARNED ABOUT THE WAY YOU USED THE CLOTH VS THE SPONGE. ALSO, YOU WERE DEAD ON WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT! THE HOMEMADE KNIFE, WELL, I'M JEALOUS, BUT WILL FESS UP, I'M GONNA COPYCAT IT. MOSTLY, WHAT IS THE MUSCIC? LOVE IT AND IF YOU TYPE IN "DONNIE LAWS," HE USES THE SAME FIDDLE MUSIC. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE TO FIND IT,... I LOVE IT! PEASE SHOW LOTS OF YOU WORK,... AS IT GETTING TO BE A LOST ART. THANKS ROG FROM THE SWAMPS OF FLORIDA
Naw i just said its a shame we cant use them. I see them on the road dead often and find feathers where they have fought something but legally you cant even pick them up. I have but cant film it
@@timcornett6085 I know what you mean though. It's so silly that you can get in trouble for pulling feathers out of a road kill hawk or owl to use for decorations. And Lord help you if (hypothetically) you find a white neck feather and a white downy feather from a chick before it molts and gets its big-boy feathers under a Bald Eagle's nest and put it on a stone tomahawk you made, along with a flying squirrel's tail and a sparrowhawk wing feather that you found squirrel hunting... Not that I'd ever do some blood-thirsty outlaw stuff like that personally...On a completely unrelated topic, did you know that there can be a LOT of small turtle shells under a Bald Eagle's nest? Apparently, tiny terrapins are a tasty treat! :) Say THAT 10 times, fast! Take care, Mr. Tim!
having trouble with that feather are you , at 1/4 in from end of quell make a cut hafe way of quell and 1 1/2 in up then fit the end up in the top cut too from a loop and tie will lock in self with loop fromed to put your tie in indian way of doing
This sheath for your bowie knife really turned out well. Thanks for sharing the process. - Tennessee Smoky
Im pleased with it. I think i can get better so there will be more to come

Looks doggone good! They won't let us use hawk feathers here either. Enjoyed watching you put that together.
I need to hunt some of these cowbird feathers up and do some dying on em

I make knives and scabbard. I think ( or my idea) was making the rawhide one peace and only sewing on one side. Good idea and job
I have used walnut hulls dye to dye my rawhide
I may try that
Looks good
Thank you

Be careful putting that feather on your sheath on video. I would really hate for you to get a visit from the feds. Love your videos buddy
It's a turkey feather.
I was worried it was a Cooper hawk’s feather . Sorry

I did . Its forged from a G wiz
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors a G whiz? You gonna have to educate me in that now hoss lol
I used to watch a UA-cam channel by jnull0. He caught a gar and had another guy make knife out of its skin.
I aint been able to catch a gar
