Unrelated but have I know we are coming up to the tragic death of Owen hart, but have we passed or are we coming up on when D'lo accidentally paralyzed Droz?
I can’t remember last time nitro even tied lol. I think most of us switched and stopped watching WCW when they did the red and black A team and black and white B team
It's a great episode i remember watching live. The reveal of Shawn being the third guard was a huge hype moment. Thank you, Ryan, for bringing this memory back to me.
Not just one of, but it was literally THE highest rated segment in WWE history until This is Your Life a few months later; even today it's still #2. I especially love how Gas, Rodney, Brisco, & Patterson could never really explain WHY their match was the highest-rated segment, but the simple fact that it was actually helped get Gas & Rodney proper wrestling contracts. It'll be tough to not have the Posse around for a few months of RtW, but they'll be back in time for SummerSlam.
Tony Schiovani: "Tonight on the other wrestling show, Gerald Briscoe and Pat Patterson will beat the Mean Street Posse, who will be forced to leave the company. That'll put butts in seats."
Monica Seles for anyone who doesn't know. Became world the number one women's tennis player in the early 90s. Before she was stabbed by a lunatic on the tennis courts during a match. But Seles thankfully would come back from a injuries after being stabbed, to become world number one again.
One of the highest rated episodes of Raw. Shame how WWE has yet to reach the same height of success as the Attitude Era. This is why this past stuff is more entertaining than today's wrestling.
@@stevenmacaulay8807 His right star power was bigger and the ratings was bigger it was the best time for wrestling, the current product can’t hold a candle to the attitude era.
Val Venis sells the DDT better than any other wrestler I've ever seen on my life. No joke. I love the way he always flips over like he got spiked right on the top of his head. Great work.
Bro I love your intro song for this it is so badass and fitting. Glad I subscribed to this channel and I appreciate all your hardwork love and dedication to it.
I could be wrong, but I think the result of the evening gown match might've been the first and only reverse Dusty Finish in the history of pro wrestling.
Man, Sable was very popular yet it really didn't last very long. You'd have thought she had a years long push at the top the way some people try and frame her legacy. She was popular more for a lack of competition then being good for wrestling.
Pretty much everything Sable was involved in was complete trash. She couldn't talk, she couldn't wrestle, and she looked like a stripper/porn star on her second comeback after failed attempts at starting a real estate business and a pet grooming salon. She was only there as wank fodder for 14-year-old boys and people who were too repressed to rent porn. _"White cotton panties, pal"._
Indeed. And honestly, I can't even blame that HBK reversed the decision of the Evening Gown match and awarded the Women's Championship to Debra, considering that the RTW videos show that Debra was being much more relevant to the RAW episodes than Sable for the past months (not as much as Chyna, but if I remember correctly, Chyna herself didn't want to get involved with the women's division at that time) - and unlike Sable, Debra did drop the belt to a proper wrestler on the first opportunity.
Usually a Wrestling character is that wrestlers real life personality turned up to 11 with Vince the evil perverted power mad thinks he can do whatever he wants Mr Mcmahon character was Vince toned down
He allegedly sexually assaulted the woman with dildos that he had named after The Big Show and Omos, causing her bruising and bleeding. Absolutely mental.
I saw that thumbnail, and instantly remembered how cool Kane was when he still had the mask. When they took his mask away, they also took his cool factor away.
I really hope that by the time we get to "It was Me Austin. It was Me all along." that there's like a list of things that seem counter productive for Vince if it were actually him the whole time. 😄👍
What's the music at 21:36 ? Sounds like something from a video game and I'm sure I recognise it from somewhere else. Love the channel by the way - you deserve 1 million+ subs easily.
1st Raw with Triple H in trunks replacing the long tights. That HBK segment was probably best bit of the show. Most of the show weirdly had no contests despite the cards stacked in the babyfaces' favour for a change.
To address the, ahem, 2:33 situation: Kane didn't miss with that kick; he was using his foot to channel the unholy powers of the Netherworld to propel Billy backwards.
These NBA playoffs did far more damage to WCW than most realize, worst possible timing. And a Reliving the War episode is just not a Reliving the War episode without Nitro!
The lonely island theme for the Mean street posse is hilarious
I was (and still am) a Mean Street Posse fan, and I TOTALLY approve of the theme. I am still laughing at it.
everytime.
The mean street posse theme is goated
I like that it's a mix of both the Lonely Island song and the original Mean Street Posse song. Really well mixed together.
Unrelated but have I know we are coming up to the tragic death of Owen hart, but have we passed or are we coming up on when D'lo accidentally paralyzed Droz?
The way that HBK reveal segment was done was so good lol
"He's single, fellas." Best line ever.
Probably one of my favorite JR calls.
"That's the largest man that has ever been on top of Pat Patterson!"
"To be honest, I'm cheering for Paul". I see what you did there lol
It took a moment to get that one.
Seeing Bruce Pritchard shuffle out to grab those basketballs is a moment from the Attitude Era that always indured with me for some reason.
Raw gets the point this week 😂😂
I can’t remember last time nitro even tied lol. I think most of us switched and stopped watching WCW when they did the red and black A team and black and white B team
@@WesleyWilkins-qf2kyI thought NWO was stale by the end of 96.
Imagine that!😉
I see what you did there, and I like it. 😂
And if Raw were pre emptied - the NBA would have won the point over Nitro

Reliving The War is a highlight of the week.
Has been mine for years now
One of my favorite parts of the week is watching this on the train OMW from work every Thursday.
The episode with one of the highest rated segments in WWE history, which one was that?
The Stooges vs The Mean Street Posse...amazing.
Not just one of, but it was literally THE highest rated segment in WWE history until This is Your Life a few months later; even today it's still #2. The highest rated segment of Raw ever was Undertaker vs. Stone Cold the night after King of the Ring 1999.

Going to the Rumble on Saturday. What a great video to look back on while we get excited :)
I had never heard of Monica Seles before, so thanks for pointing out her story. She’s a tough one.
that Debra screen shot was haunting.
I thought it was The Nun
She's pretty, but the way her features are set up made her look both 36 and 60.
Biggest five-head in the history of history
Man....shamrock getting away with 2 f-bombs in a single promo
Attitude Area. You can your 2 F-Bombs and have a satanic wedding too
Literally 3:16 pm. est when this showed up for me. It was written in the Heavens.
Anyone else bummed about these being the final episodes with Owen Hart?
Yeah...
Yep I am...25 years later still hurts like hell
Man I've been keeping up with Reliving the War on the Network and I had to skip the Owen memorial, just couldn't do it

Yeah, It was the same with Pillman.

iconic episode of raw tbh.

Ehhh that's silly, I mean star power wise? Sure but otherwise they are doing way better across the board. I get nostalgia but come on now bud.

Looking forward to the reliving the tennis wars series
goofy Roadie trying to dance while Billy Gunn ascapes. Nice to have HBK running the show and not letting Sable talk

HBK cruising on Lake Havasoma

"Union go to work" LOL. Great as always.

I started watching this awsome show since may of 2020

It's Thursday night and you know what that means! Reliving The War is here and Raw is not opposed this week. Meaning it'll win for sure.

Shawn Michaels would have made a better “higher power” than Vince FR. Even had a reason. Getting revenge for wm14 and such.
I recorded this episode, remember it so clear. I loved the union, wished they stayed together longer
10:55 pretty much how I interpreted that stipulation 😂
For Owen 🙏 🙌
20:17 Come on, Beaver Cleavage is still undefeated almost 25 years later, he should be the one to have a WrestleMania Streak
I have seen this episode of Raw numerous times and I have never noticed that Road Dogg wasn’t wearing shoes in the opening match. 😂
