I've got a little while before I get to the corrals. Waiting out the cycle process on a freshly started dry rock reef tank. I'm still sitting at about 1ppm of ammonia and nitrites are starting to register, so I'm not too far off. Love the LED lighting for its low heat and low amperage draw. It's a win win, the controllability of it is a massive bonus.

Im a kessil fan all the way, i got 4 on my 4ft tank and the sps couldnt be happier. I will say though that for the a360x you NEED to have the light at 6.5 inches above the water due to its wide spread.

I'm a little surprised they went with Kessil. I thought they were going to use the Orphek Atlantik V4 according to episode 2. I really do like the form factor and styling of the Kessil though.

Being as literally every online seller is showing off the new Kessil fixture, you can probably consider this a "sponsored" moment, or at the very least an ad for SaltwaterAquarium so that they can sell more of these lights.

Would a condensation tray and then led be better as to stop contamination of the water and protect the led

When mounting, including type of mount also bear in mind access to the tank itself. It's annoying to have light fittings in the way without being able to "move" them. If it's annoying you are less likely to do something, well at least for me, I tend to be lazy.

Beginner question. About kelvin, is that mostly for our viewing pleasure or does Kelvin affect coralgrowth too? I got a kessil A160WE Tuna Sun - The one for freshwater which gives 6-9000K, would that be fine in a smaller tank for softcorals. or would it only be good for the algeas. I do not need the corals to grow fast, I am old enough to have become patient :) but i do have a limited budget.

What what you recomend on a nuvo 20 with only 4 1/2 inches of clearance. i have been leaning towards two strip light but previously used a current orbit and dont recall much growth or color pop and the nano meters start at 445 so no uv or purple for color pop of chlloropyll A. Fuval marine has a violet and is a srip light so thinking that may do better. i really want an ai prime but saw the youtube of it mounted 6 inches and crazy hot spot then really drops of to levels o low that I am not sure if I can grow lps even. I wouldnt mind a hot spot for sps if it didn't drop off so much! Also considering bigger more powerful strips like reef breeders photon or zetlight q maven because I think I can saw the legs down. Do you think the the proton or qmaven has lower wattage and would be ok at 4 1/2 inches? What would you recommend in this situation? I am going nuts!

Hello and great video, I'm covering my 125gal freshwater tank to a soft coral saltwater aquarium, and I'm on a tight budget. Thanks for your led videos and is there a specific par level recommend for soft corals?

I just purchased a 7 foot long 265 gallon with a canopy. Im debating between kessil and radion, what do you suggest. I'm doing coral and fish.

LFS going back to T8s I can't hardly find any T5s

T5 looks so gross. I started with them and hated them for years. Metal halide still looks the best by far. LED is next best, but I would rather not even be in the hobby than have t5. Even as a supplementation.
