It is rare that a foreigner knows so much about our history, in particular the details of the German provocation in Gliwice in 1939. I am impressed. Thanks for this.
Everything Chris just said... the current Sabaton line up is the best it's ever been, so much talent! To add to his list, En Livstid I Krig, live in Sweden, with the entire crowd singing along is pretty powerful!
Definitely agree. It’s listed on UA-cam as SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg). It’s in Swedish, so be sure subtitles are on.
I notice Sabaton never make a song about Sweden's 'neutrality' during WW2. As a big WW2 nerd myself, I've been waiting for a song about how Sweden provided the vast majority of Germany's iron ore during the whole of the war, enabling their war machine to roll onwards across Europe* (*does not include UK). Without it, they could never have done what they did. The income they received from Sweden for all the coal Sweden bought for the whole of the war helped their finances and their occupation of so many countries. As did Sweden's allowing them to move troops and munitions through 'neutral' Sweden on the way to occupying Norway. On another historical note, my grandfather was responsible for bringing down quite a few German planes in WW2. The Luftwaffe called him "The worst mechanic we ever had". 😂
Yea... I mean tbh it was either that or get occupied and with Russia also being kind of a threat, I don't really blame Sweden to a certain degree. also LOL your grandpa sounds awesome.
@@tonygriffin_ Finland was threatened with occupation. They fought the would-be occupiers, and the West punished them for it. I agree that Sweden should have gotten involved in World War II. At a minimum, they should have helped the Poles when they rose against the Nazis as Germany was withdrawing from Poland. However, when small nations that successfully defend themselves against aggressors are punished by the international community for doing so, other small nations tend to keep their heads down.

I am full of admiration for you, my friend, for your historical knowledge. Especially since it concerns Poland. Way to go.

@Green Sky I don't speak Swedish, but I learned the song in Swedish bc it's just so powerful to be part of that sing along!
I agree with everything said here
Thank you Amy and all of you for the recommendation, I'll check that out next.

@@VelcroReacts You gotta fight fascism. Especially when threatened with occupation. Or at least be neutral when you claim to be.
@@tonygriffin_ As a swede I am ashamed of what my country did and still do up to this day. Neutral... "esse non videri"
