Say hello to our Barred Rock chickens. They are about 10 months old and seem healthy to me. We have usually raised ISA Brown birds, so it has been interesting to have a different variety.

Yes, I have found I can gently ease the eggs out from under a hen without even getting pecked. I try not to bother them, but sometimes.............
