A couple of things that weren't mentioned were native plants and host plants. Native plants from your area support more insect life and host plants are needed to get specific species of butterfly. Also native oaks support the most caterpillar species so plant oaks for breeding birds.
The little bug boxes are brilliant. A few things to consider when it comes to bug boxes though are the size of the holes and the box itself. If the holes, gaps, and even the box itself are too big, it could invite parasitic insects in and kill off your bees. Also a box for multiple species isnt a great idea (as they could start attacking each other) so make sure to keep the designated spaces for different species separate.
I want to attract insects, but Will a log pile attract rats? Got rats umder next doors decking and under our shed that are impossible to get rid of, if i build an insect sanctuary, I'd be worried of giving rats an easy second nesting place
We have another video just for building a frog havan if you're interested - bit.ly/3imGOfK 🐸 You could perhaps section off the area with mesh, netting or fencing to keep your dog out 😊

squito94 thanks for spreading the word. 🦋🐛
My favourite type of garden. Hate gardens with all gravel and decking and no plants
What a wonderfully informative video. I love the 'make your own' options too as buying things can be expensive.
I loved this one, so many great ideas 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I love all your ideas--thank you! ;--> I'm off to make a bugbox.

I weirdly like rats. If they weren’t diseased they r cute
I’d love a garden with a pond for frogs and we can do it easy! But I have a dog..
