There's a bigger picture that goes beyond these investors buying houses they are also buying up complexes that people used to could afford their rents not anymore they are being forced out by these investors. That's overcharging they don't want to pay for anything and the tennis becomes a cash cow it's sad a lot of people have to have two jobs barely making ends meet only to be told by these investors that they have to move. Charlotte North Carolina, does not protect their tenants nor do they have enough affordable housing people who need it there is a housing crisis in Charlotte and something needs to be done. I hope something can be done about these greedy investors coming to Charlotte and buying up everything and making it unaffordable for the people of Charlotte who cannot afford these upscale Luxury Apartments that they are turning these apartment complexes into that people are being pushed out and can no longer afford.

Corporate investors own around 25,000 homes in Charlotte. There are around 370,000 homes in Charlotte. This means that corporate investors own less than 7% of the homes in Charlotte. They are not why housing in Charlotte has skyrocketed, it's all the people moving to Charlotte from all over that is causing home prices to go up, up, up!

But all homes in Charlotte didn't go up for sale last year. Of the ones that did, corporate investors bought 30% of those homes, often for tens of thousands above asking (driving up the cost of the remaining homes).

If nobody can afford these homes then the prices will go down because they won't have any buyers. Government intervention only takes away individual human incentive

Investors can wait for someone who can pay the high rent prices. Government intervention is needed or else millenials will become a generation of renters and that will hurt their ability to eventually retire.

What is wrong with trying to make money for yourself if you can do it. For gosh sakes government get off our backs.let the free market do it's stuff. I'm sick of all this. here we go

Then you should be taxed for it so they can build subsidized housing.

Why should I be taxed if I am trying hard for myself to make money this way.why should I be forced to pay for someone else. I've had a rough time in life and now I have a little something and I am trying to make this money grow. I am not wealthy by any means but I have something.. socialism leads to communism And I visited a communist country and it was the most depressing place in the world. The free market capitalist system creates wealth. Socialism stifles it I give whatever I can to charity. A lil this is going to do is cause people to say why should I work hard when they will take it away in taxes. In my rental property there was one of my renters who got cancer and I gave her a break. This was my decision. Not that of the damn government. You are complaining this government gives money you like candy. I say government get the hell off our backs and stop trying to control our money

Not all investors can wait. Besides I think this should be up to the individual landlord not the government because every situation is different. It's the individual landlords property not the governments. I had some young Mexican boys iny building who were selling drugs shooting guns off in the building setting fires in the back and breaking into people's homes. The other tenants were terrified. I had to kick these kids out and they cost me a fortune. If I would have depended on the government they would still be there and might have killed someone
I always was good to my tenants when they needed something they got it right away

Not all people are greedy and nasty this is just an exuse for the government to control us. I gave my tenants a break when they had hard times
