I very much appreciate that your videos are not like all the other "Hipster" vids, where they're constantly promoting new tech gadget gizmos and pretend to be interested in their surroundings. You do a wonderful job with great enthusiasm. Again thank you kindly for sharing these fascinating locations, from Philadelphia Pennsylvania USA!
Thank you - they do take a while to make and I have been limited to a budget of zero, but I hope to get out more and film more interesting places. I have recently borrowed a gimble camera and filmed a few simpler walks, but I would rather make this better produced explorations. I really appreciate your kind words.
@@RichardVobes And look at you now Richard! You've done a fantastic job with your channel! You know how much the wife and I love it, and this was fun to go back and watch the younger you in your older videos. Lots of fun!
Hi Richard, i love this documentary! It came up in my feed after watching today "A pile of old newspapers..." Thank you and looking forward to more of these when we get our country back 🏴
I absolutely love these Richard the explorer, videos or blogs, lovely and fat your face was, handsome fella, kept your own inimitable persona, too good for TV, you are brilliant
This video popped up, I noticed it was 10 years old, so I thought I'd give it a go to provide a comparison to your modern day videos. Have to say I am so impressed with the quality of production, and as far as I can tell from the credits, put together by yourself with the aid of one other cameraman. This 30 minute programme would not look out of place on mainstream television, infact it is alot better quality than some of the stuff you see on the multitude of satellite channels. A very good watch and I can see that you have always been a fine filmmaker and still are today.
I found your channel about two weeks ago. The episode was the Abandoned Canals. It, like this episode, was excellent. It reminded me of a canal near where I grew up many decades ago. Now I live near a canal and enjoy walking and cycling on it regularly. Your historic knowledge, great sense of humour and music choices are spot on. Thank you very much.
Brilliant video! Brings back many memories of when I lived in Shrewsbury. I did what you did at the cave, climbed over the fence and went up the steps!
Superbly put together Richard . Your longer format certainly is your forte . We love Shropshire and would love to move to Whitchurch area one day . Thanks for a great video and we look at a few more of your longer explorations . Enjoying your border walks and my England series . All the best Paul and Alexis 👍
Your Highway man was hilarious! I bet he even enjoyed putting one over on the Sherrif and his men many a time! You really do a story proud! Thank you so much!🦊The fox was always his own best messenger !
Hi Ian, thanks very much for telling me. I am very sorry to have got that fact wrong, but delighted to have had a distant ancestor watch the programme! Richard
good initiative Richard! I'm Polish, one of those few (millions) that moved to you country and I eventually felt in love with south England. Alfriston, Rye, Lewis but also Bourton on the Water, amazing places with historical soul. I also do some traveling videos, but not as pro as you sir. Good luck and keep exploring ;)
Awesome work Mr. Vobes... really professional stuff. Good luck with the project and I really hope to see it on TV at some point. I've embedded the videos on my Teaching Videos site so that teachers can discover and use them in the classroom too. Hope that's OK
Now that I've been there, that is on many of southern England's roads, I can really relate to the opening segment here on your 2nd Bald Explorer episode! The packaged tour I took involved a different hotel for 3 or 4 nights and covered many sights. I can now see why you explore; so much to see and right there in your own backyard! Not like me here across the sea! I'll be back. Lovin' episode 2 of The Bald Explorer!
Watching this on 3-19-2019. Loved the enthusiasm Richard. I think you have matured since 2011 and lost some weight. Enjoyed it very much. Watching from Burton Ohio USA.
Another very professional video from you. I had not watched any for some time and had forgotten just how good they are. Better than a lot of the stuff on tv
Great documentary Richard thanks to your friend Julia linking this on your Facebook group, really enjoyed the history. Must say I couldn't stand on that column like you did, one look and Id be down on my knees crawling back inside
Glad I found your chanel, what a great video. Classic building archeology here, clear re use of the castle blocks/stones in the farm buildings and structures.. so often the case..atb.
Another splendid job Richard. May I just say though, you are ruining my life! I can't just watch one of your films, it's now 11am and I'm still in my PJs!!! I must be more chaste with myself and restrict to one film a day.
Got married in Shrewsbury at the castle. I stayed at the travel lodge near the river and my dog jumped out of the first floor window onto the drinkers below. Lol.
Interesting video. Just one small criticism though. Humphrey Kynaston (who was my ancestor) was the son of Sir Roger Kynaston (1432-1495), not Sir john Kynaston.

Great fun. History brought to life. :)
This was great loved it. Was this filmed for TV . Really well put together mate.
It wasn't filmed for Tv, although it was later shown in the Coummity Channel on Sky.

I really must visit Shrewsbury, been pat it on the by-pass somany times ! Rowland Hill also has a staue in Kidderminster town centre
You visit - lovely place. That Rowland Hill gets about, doesn't he? Perhaps he has a bicycle like you! :)
Great documentary Richard thanks to your friend Julia linking this on your Facebook group, really enjoyed the history. Must say I couldn't stand on that column like you did, one look and Id be down on my knees crawling back inside
I loved that Column - great fun up there. :)
Fantastic! Please don't stop making these videos :)
Fabulous - thank you!
@lydburyenglishcentre Thanks for watching. I don't think they know about it. I will have to check them out for sure.
Glad I found your chanel, what a great video. Classic building archeology here, clear re use of the castle blocks/stones in the farm buildings and structures.. so often the case..atb.
Thank you for your comments and kind words. A fascinating building to be sure.
Great - lot's of stuff I didn't know. Have Shrewsbury and Shropshire Tourism seen this?

Geoff Stevens Ho ho! That made me smile! Now go and get dressed!
It's great for insomniacs though.
I also have many to sift through. Enjoying the journey. 😁
Brilliant.
Thanks you so much
@TheDepotCat Thanks Mr. Cat - I appreciate you taking a look.

Well done Richard, another jem, I felt quite giddy going up the coloume!! would you do that now ? ..... :-)
Hi Jon - many thanks - yes I would love to do it again - a great view from up there.
@TheDepotCat Thanks very much old bean.
Brill Richard !!
21:37 Richard you're such an outlaw!
I am indeed, but don't tell anyone! :)
great video and should be on real telly are you listening Discovery!!!
I was told by Martin Zero who does some great videos on Manchester area you have some BBC TV history or Presented
Not really - I put these videos on the Community Channel some year ago - but all my own work.
Interesting video. Just one small criticism though. Humphrey Kynaston (who was my ancestor) was the son of Sir Roger Kynaston (1432-1495), not Sir john Kynaston.
So we are family! :) Can we set up a family tree plan out/ meeting? from Portugal. Anthony.
To be an 'outlaw' defined a person as a criminal because their behaviour was illegal... therefore OUTSIDE the Law..... 'Outlaw'. 😳
Patti Smith you have it in one!
Shame the Lion is full of illegal travellers now
