Got the Vision XR last week, can't say I'm a big fan. I originally thought the opening was super smooth but it was because they loosened the pivot enough to make it so, which led to some blade play. Upon tightening the pivot just enough to completely stop lateral blade play, the opening was nowhere as smooth as before. I still prefer my mini griptilian's smooth opening, the XR lock is not the same as benchmade's axis lock from my experience
The Yojumbo in blackout would be cool too. I agree on the point, SOG nailed it, for a tactical folder it's ideal, compared to a more traditional tanto. Thanks for watching!
Great video. I’ve been debating about getting this knife. Right now I carry the sog tac xr and it’s a great knife. I read somewhere why they position the pocket clip is for the ease of grabbing out of your pocket especially if you are wearing gloves.
I agree, I've noticed this on other larger folders, I think the manufactures are trying to keep the pocket depth reasonable incase you have short pockets? IDK I'd prefer deep carry on everything.
I think at this level of knife a lot of it comes down to preference. that being said SOG has really stepped up the game the bearing in the pivot of this feels sick!

Love my mini grip, I have the tango version. Solid all around knife!
Whilst I love the Vision XR, I have recently picked up the Tac XR and it's instantly superceded it...

Position of that pocket clip is killing me, no reason it couldn't have been made deeper carry. Its awkwardly approaching the middle of the handle.

It’s done on purpose for “tactical reasons” so you can grab it from a plate carrier pocket or pocket when you have gloves on
It's a fantastic clip position it comes out of the pocket easy then you need it. It works really well.
Why would you need to spend more on a Benchmade etc when this is probably better.
