Omg.. I have the exact same Anytek lock. One day the thumbprint sensor just failed. Luckily I saw this video and it saved me a whole lot of hassle in getting it opened. Gosh, this is more like a backup lock opener in case battery or sensor fails. Thumbs up Anytek!

Comfort and security don't go hand in hand. It's either one or the other. Since fingerprint locks are meant to be comfortable, they will all be terrible from the security point of view.
Well you need several features for a fingerprint padlock to make it good: the fingerprint reader must be reliable, the electronics must operate with low power, and the mechanisms must be resistant to magnetism, in addition to the lock being well-constructed out of durable materials and invulnerable to shimming. In essence you have all the problems of a normal padlock (which we know are hard to make right) with all the problems of a "ruggedized" smartphone (which are also hard to make right)

The issue with fingerprints is that they are easily copied. LPL has collabed with Modern Rogue before, but I was just imagining how much fun it'd be to give them something "secured" by a series of locks that have been featured on LPL's channel along with the tools used to bypass them, and let them use his channel and the tools to open them. Ok, I got a theory: LPL is actually Santa Claus when it's not the Christmas season. That's how he's able to get in to homes and deliver presents!

What i've learned after all this years of watching LPL, is that if you want to lock something, lock it real good, just use Duct Tape.

@@Dirtyharry70585 If the shackle gave up as much as LPL showed it did from just one hacksaw pass, I would expect someone could simply yank it open with their bare hands (assuming it was attached to something solid). Or maybe pry it open with a screwdriver.

Old school opener with the hammer. Used to open locks on base like that when keys were lost or nobody could find them. Good times.

LPL has collabed with Modern Rogue before, but I was just imagining how much fun it'd be to give them something "secured" by a series of locks that have been featured on LPL's channel along with the tools used to bypass them, and let them use his channel and the tools to open them. Maybe even put some sort of sealed shut tag on each lock with the video number so they can see exactly which video if they give up looking.

Any recommendations for a good quality fingerprint padlock? The convenience is pretty nice.
I would recommend the Tapplock, but while they're made from more durable materials I think they're pretty easy to tapp open with a hammer (the irony)
What I learned from LPL is if you are leaving for holidays then you better weld shut your doors.

"A serious flaw" ... actually two serious flaws but the second one is so egregious that the first one doesn't count.
