That is what I don’t understand about the thrift store in my very exclusive ski town. They get donations and they price them at eBay prices! Then they have a bag sale at the end of the season!
Raising the prices only prevents people from purchasing, in my humble opinion. Someone just priced a 100th anniversary Fenton bell at $1.49 lol so sometimes those slipped through I guess
@@mariaroldan4200 Our Salvation Army looks up prices on the Internet and will put the price down and say where they found that price. Several times I will tell them "you can list something for whatever you want…. you need to look at the solds".
@@erinmaxwell8133 At our store we know good items that should have been up priced are going to slide through sometimes and someone's going to get a great deal, but we almost kind of prefer that to happen b/c it keeps them coming back. Or they will tell friends about this great deal they found and more will come.
I have to brag about my find/thrift of a lifetime that happened last week. An entire tote of vintage uranium plates in 3 different patterns. I paid only $29.99 and yes they all glowed like crazy.
I love the Spode! And I love all the sounds - your voice, background music, paper crinkling, your fingernail clicking on your phone (haha), and walking on old wood floors. I miss the singing, “you can ring my be-e-ll, ring my bell.” Come on Andrew! I never miss a video. Please don’t do voice overs. That takes too long.
Extra sounds don't bother me, either. Perhaps the complainers would be happier watching actors in a scripted movie or TV show than a real person doing real-life things.
The "fake glassy baby" were actually planetary glass votives, I think. You may have found the entire set; the one on the shelf was the sun and the ones in the baggies were the planets.

They are shot glasses. I've been looking for them all over the place. You can still find sets for about $50

My Goodwills don't carry much vintage and if they do its marked up like its in an antique shop. Good luck to you in your reselling.

Sometimes she has to do voice-over s, if the music that the store has playing has an infringement strike on it
She does it because of the store she is in is playing music you tube won't pay her for her video. This is how she makes money.
You should look into a lapel mic like the antique nomad... Lapel mics are designed to isolate the voice from background noise i.e. music.

I learned a lot from Jocelyn. I knew nothing about hard goods, I saw a Spode Christmas bowl at GW, I was so excited! Also Fitz and Floyd. The high end once, a Haegar piece but it was all chipped up. She is so pleasant to follow too.
The beer on glass is a prop. I used to be a studio stylist, in charge of props. So fun!
My favorite piece was the hand painted vanity tray. So pretty and in such good shape for its age. I am interested in seeing how you do with the Italian set.
That Dooney & Bourke there are a few ways to tell if it's real.
1) the inside tag says Dooney and Bourke on one side of the tag that is stitched along the side and on the other side of the tag has the lot #.
2) the tags on the outside are stitched on well and shouldn't pull away from the bag.
3) the zippers are strong metal zippers
4) the leather will not be pealing apart. A bit of wear on the bottom is normal. But if you notice stitching, if the leather doesn't feel or smell right, forget it. Dooney and Bourke are good quality. If it feels like pleather chances are you are correct.
The loud music doesn’t bother me. I just tune it out just like I used to do when my kids were little and I would hear “Mom, Mom, Mom, Ma, Ma, MOOOOMMMMMM!!!’ 😉

Sunday videos make us happy! Loud music never slows her down. We love her best and call her our friend, because the CLL knowledge never ends🧡🧡🧡🤷🏻♀️
I loved to hear that I'm not the only one to love the sounds. My favorite is the crinkle of the bags when you are trying to see what's inside...I also love the fingernail clicking. Doesn't bother me if polish is coming off. I also have to say I want more Laurel!!!!

I absolutely love that you mostly buy things that you are excited to list. If I were a reseller, I would be the exact same way. Actually, I’m selling off some of my personal collections & there are quite a few things that I am not interested in listing, but I want to sell them, lol. Oh the struggles, lol:) xo
I love listening to you talk to your items in your cart. I do the same thing. You were born the same year as my daughters, but they hate thrift stores. Maybe your my daughter from a different mother lol.

Spode’s Christmas Rose pattern is highly valuable!! It’s harder to find then the Christmas Tree with Santa topper! Found a complete tea set with dinner & bread plates a couple of weekends ago….. it’s been selling…. Also found 2 glassy babies tonight!!!

Hi!! The planet “glassy babies” were sold as planetary drinking glasses around 7/8 years ago. I purchased not one, but two sets 😃. They would have made nice votives!! Great idea!

I have noticed that some items DO seem to rotate to other Goodwill stores after a while. There was one unique wooden item that I saw at one store and weeks later saw it at another store.
I moved from Pennsylvania to Indiana last month. I miss the thrifting there, the stores here can't compete. It's an adjustment but I'm back near family. The Goodwill there had Christmas out all year.
Loud music isn't an issue for me, but occasionally I have to mute my videos to listen for my dog barking (he annoys my neighbors, but LOVES running around the yard after dark in case there is a possum or raccoon!). I just use the closed captions and read the commentary- works great!

It was another video in the same store.. it was kinda loud (not CLL fault by any means) but that is what she was referring to.. people complaining about it.
I saw the flatware in bags and reminded me...I found 4 sterling silver spoons in the flatware bin for .25 cents each😊

We used to go to modrl home auctions where they auction off the contents of the models when they closeout the development. I gave the fake food stuff to the kids to play house with

The music doesn't bother me thank you for all that you do you have been really helpful for me. I don't know if it worked or not but you could try noise canceling headphones with a Mic. Maybe it would cancel out the music and if so hopefully it prevents the copyright issue. Thanks for all you do.

I work at hobby lobby. The grinch is sold there, has been for past 3 Christmas, so older may be more valuable, but I doubt it.
I,unfortunately,haven't bought a candle in 36 years due to my Goffin Cockatoo, he angrily mutters and told me to get out when I tried to bring in a fake one once,so,I vicariously watch others buy them to save myself from the screaming little velociraptor. 😂😳

Jocelyn, Those Italian pieces usually were on a lazy suzan or on a large round base. They have wood or aluminum lazy suzans.

Just wanted to let you know that there are candles you can get that are not harmful to birds. I personally have a conure and use those when I want to burn one. I just make sure her door is closed because she has flown to one before. Thank goodness she wasn't harmed!. Silly girl. Love you, family and all vids.

I actually did find a Glassybaby in a goodie bag. It was the last bag available. I about had a heart attack! I took it out as soon as I got to my car to wrap it properly.

Joselyn, your videos are fine. Possibly your sensitive viewers could benefit by learning to use the volume on their computers. I have one, and it's very helpful. Also, the need to control your every move is unrealistic, possibly they could invest in a dog. Dogs are used to being controlled and forgive you when you're ridiculous.

Good stuff! I always look up the Yankee Candles if they are new or even burned once. I have found some (discontinued candles) are super valuable.
