I got accepted!!! I start classes Monday. Thank you for your content. Definitely will be booking sessions in the near future. Keep the content coming❤️
Thank you for this, one thing to mention on tuition is if you received a AA from a community college this may bring your tuition down. I’m enrolled in the MBA program.
Love watching your videos!!! I am a fellow NCU MFT graduate! Loved my experience at NCU! We have similar backgrounds coming from the business field. It has helped me so much in this field. Way to represent NCU!!!❤️
OMG it’s like you read my mind. This video is so perfect for me right now as I am researching on different programs to apply to. Question: I know that you mentioned that NCU does not provide any supervisors or internships, can you elaborate more on how you were able to achieve that by yourself? This is the part that I am the most worried about. Any tips or advice on acquiring supervisors and internships? Thank you 💖
So glad you found it helpful! I’m going to make a video about internships soon. My best advice is to emphasize on your resume the accreditation of your school. Also networking in your community which I’ll make a video about as well. I also have some tips on methods for reaching out and following up but that’s a lot to type here. I’ll be sure to include it in the video. Thanks for letting me know that topic would be helpful for you!
I absolutely love your channel, your insight, upbeat personality & amazing communication. I can definitely tell you've had a million hours on training in concise communication & it's so refreshing. Also refreshing to see your passion for this profession. I have my heart set on being an LMFT, but concerned about not being able to afford school AND the 3k hours for licensure. Are you allowed to get paid during supervised hours? If so, can you pls give ballpark as I've seen conflicting answers on this. Thanks for your time x
Thank you! Yes. Some people even have paid internships! You’ll have to look at job listings in your city to get a range, but you could be getting paid at any point in the process if you’re willing to be patient and hold out for a paid position. Now with your associate license, it’s much more common to have a paid position and won’t take as much research.
Thank you for the great information. I have been going to NCU since 2019. It will take me a while to finish, no judgments :) I am curious how did you gain relationships with your professors? I feel very distant from my professors and would like to have a better collaborative relationship with some of the faculty I am not sure how to establish that? Maybe it is not my personality? Also, I'd love to get more information on collaborative therapy. It is a little tricky to understand.
Hi Steph, thank you so much for this wealth of information. I'm considering enrolling in NCU, I noticed when I spoke with an enrollment counselor she indicated that NCU build the license exam into your curriculum and students have a 95%+ pass rate, first time, on the exam would you consider that to be accurate?
Just wanted to clarify if this is Northcentral University that was absorbed by National University or North Central University which is a worship / music school in Minnesota. I also looked into your numbers of 98% first time pass rate and found a document from 2021 that stated it was 33%, with only 4 people taking the test. I am enrolled and will be starting this month and this clarification can help greatly. Thank you for the videos.
Steph Anya, MFT not that far at all. I’m in week 11 on 5104 second class. I start the third 7/13 do quite a ways to go but I am loving it so far. I’m learning and met a few of my classmates that I text and message with often.
omg I was looking at NCU and came across your video. Im considering to pursue a doctorate MFT... I am scared to do online; however, I know it will be the best since I done it before.
Bless you, I am a Doctoral Student at NCU and I love the classes, and I am scared as i get closer to the end. I am taking Public Administration and I love it 2nd change. Thank you for the update and u am left with 10 keep me in your prayers.
Hi 👋 I hope you are doing well My husband wants to study PhD in criminal justice in NCU and he is hesitant because he thinks that the degree in this university has no reputation What do you think 🤔 Can you give me some advice about your PhD Thanks in advance And good luck
I love your video! I'm very interested in NCU program but the advisor said where I live require 60 credits, which is about 3 years and 7 months for completion on the Dean’s Schedule :( and now tuition went up, too. It took about 2 and a half year for completing program for you so I am wondering if you took 45 credits or did they change program longer recently.. =?= thank you for your video!
I'm wondering approximately how many hours a week did you spend on school work before your internships started? I'm looking at NCU myself and this is my main concern.
Hello Steph, I have been a student at NCU going on a year. I have short-term memory due to several strokes and brain surgery. I am having difficulties with remembering how to begin my next class. Can you please tell me how to complete this process?
Love your videos! I was wondering if there is any type of scholarships or financial help to help pay tuition? Or if you can give me some insight or advise on how you did it. I'd love to pursue this. It's been a life long dream! But loans are not an option as we took out way too many for my husbands grad school. We are in debt as it is! LOL
Hi Cecilia! NCU offers full tuition scholarships but they’re very risky because you have to enroll to be eligible. I’ve also used sources likes Scholly, but haven’t been very successful. I wish I had more expertise in this area!
I paid out of pocket for a vast majority until my last 2 classes where we took out student loans. I'll be done paying them next month! The good thing about NCU is you have a lot of flexibility with when you take classes, so you could pace them out in a way that makes sense for your budget.
I live in a small town, and I'm worried about how I will get in my hours for my internship. I am about 3 hours away from a big city. Am I able to see clients online?
Q: How long were the classes? How many do you complete in a year? Q: 42k is per year? Q: Do you complete a thesis? Thank you so much, your videos are awesome! :)
What was your process of finding an internship site? I am in the program right now. I am having a very hard time finding one... It's been over a year trying to find an internship. I feel like I am defeated at this point.
Hi Rina. I’m sorry to hear that. I know that’s beyond frustrating. Did the school provide you with a list of places that people have interned previously in your area?
@@StephAnya Thank you so much for the reply! Yes, they did. but because of COVID, most places did not offer supervision. I am trying to look for a site where they offer supervision through telecommunication... It has been difficult though... All your videos are so helpful during this period! Thank you!
Of course. I would check with NCU about previous supervisors in your area or even outside of your area if you’re doing virtual. If you find anyone, let them know that you will be recording your sessions and can share them so that they can actually supervise and comment on your work. Good luck!
I have a question: I applied to this school but when trying to do research (mainly because it looks like ANYONE can get accepted without even having to have any type of eligibility) and I found very little information on this university. Is this really a university? Its a silly question but its super weird that I could barely find any research on this university when I search online.

I just started the MAMFT program at NCU. Your videos are so helpful!! Thank you!!
Congratulations!! Thank you for watching and please let me know any other topics that would be useful for you!
I got accepted! I’m so excited and starting to take my first class today! ☺️
Ahhh, congratulations!!! I hope you love it as much as I do! Come back and let me know how your first week goes!
Steph Anya, MFT Thank you!! I love how easy it is to find everything on the platform and yes I will let you know!
Awesome! Hope you don't mind me asking, were you able to get some grants or scholarships? :)
Congrats, i'm applying soon
I'm not a good learner when it's comes to online, I rather be in a classroom or zoom

Wow. I didn’t know you were an alumni. I recently completed the MFT program there. I’m preparing for the National Exam and your videos are so helpful.
So awesome! Thanks for giving me confidence in this program as I will begin in 4 weeks! Can't wait!

I'm wondering approximately how many hours a week did you spend on school work before your internships started? I'm looking at NCU myself and this is my main concern.
Great information! Thank you for sharing!
Did you professors do lectures or pre-recorded video where they taught course material or was it main self instructed?
Predominantly self-study, but there were a few times where there were pre-recorded lectures.

How difficult is it to get an A in the class from 0 to 10 being most difficult?
I graduated with a 4.0, but of course it's highly dependent on your grasp of the concepts and time management skills. Good luck!

Q: 42k is per year?
Q: Do you complete a thesis?
Thank you so much, your videos are awesome! :)
Do you have specific apps or programs you use for note taking when you were in school? 😁
