@@89kilemal Yes, on July 9, 1989 after the show I promoted for them at my venue Sonic Temple. There was a bas-relief of a shield on the bottom post of our staircase bannister, and Kurt wrote a 'K' inside it. So technically, he vandalized our house.
It’s only nine steps, if you count the time that I called 411 in 1994 after Kurt’s death, and got the number to Leland Cobain, his Paternal Grandfather. He and I spoke on the phone for several hours, long distance, from Minnesota to Washington State. He was very gracious with his time, and he told me believed that Courtney had something to do with it. He believed that Kurt did not kill himself. I wish that I had recorded it. I was 17, at the time. Back then, privacy was much less of a concern, and such information was publicly available. It was called the White Pages, in phone books. Kids today have no idea.
You could have also taken the route that Nirvana did a split single with The Jesus Lizard whose guitarist is in Tomahawk! It’s insane how many things are so interestingly woven together. Great video!
@@User-jk8wq I know! David Yow sounds the same even 30 years later. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought it was an unreleased track from the Shot/Blue era.
Cool fact: Tomahawk guitarist Duane Denison is in a band called The Jesus Lizard which in early 1993, released a split single with Nirvana. The guy’s riffs are amazing.
The theory of six handshakes is a sociological theory according to which any two people on Earth are separated by no more than five levels of common acquaintances (and, accordingly, six levels of connections). Dude, you have two extra steps.
Melvins best 7" may be the Velvet Underground -split and best album... uh... 1993 one? I haven't heard those all (who is?) because here aren't but some records (vinyls or rarelu used cd's)...and I don't net-binge music or albums. Never.

We used those as we did loops ("tapeloops")about 20 years ago. We copied Kraftwerk's idea. But to the sub: I got much of all cracking, rumble, hissing etc. more background and when I channeled guitars and lifted vocals and et cetera songs like Venus In Furs, European Son and I'm Waiting For the Man (versions are different and lyrics has bit changes) worked quite ok... bc that bootleg-quality is horrible. What constitutes a connection? Does it have to be strictly band related? You met Weird Al, Weird Al spoke to Kurt on the phone about parodying Smells Like Teen Spirit (not sure if they've met in person).
Dale Crover was also Nirvana’s drummer twice in a row. The first time was in 1988, during which time the band recorded a demo tape called, “Nirvana: Heavier than Heaven.” Some of it was remixed and included on the Bleach album, other tracks were released on the Incesticide album, and others still were included on the 2011 With the Lights Out box set. The only track from that demo tape that never got put out on a proper album or compilation was that version of the song Spank Thru, which the band rerecorded with Chad Channing on drums later, and that version was released as a single by Sub Pop. The second time Dale joined Nirvana as drummer was to help the band complete the tour they were on after Kurt and Krist parted ways with Chad. Dale agreed to do it under one condition: NO TRASHING THE DRUMS AT THE END OF GIGS. Kurt and Krist agreed, and never did any trashing of instruments at all during the remainder of that tour.
It says 8 steps, but it felt like 47.

It's only two steps if you count Kurt staying at my house in 1989.
Right! I told someone that the other day who was trying to take a shortcut without being in a band!
