I believe Fudge living on 1hp from Oceiros' charge is a specific All Bosses speedrun strategy where you equip specific pieces of armor that let you live survive the charge.
Many games actually are made to give you a last chance if the threshold of what is about to kill you is close enough to what life you have left. It heightens gameplay, gives you a second wind, and enables you to make 'epic come backs'. Consider it a similar mechanic to how some hack and slash games (DMC 5 for example) enemies won't attack unless they are visible on screen (they will try their damned hardest to be on camera though). They are mechanics to make sure your experience isn't cheap or absurdly frustrating in a way. I think other games like Doom, and call of duty games, and I think Bad Company wolfenstein, all have a similar mechanic for further example. Though, these examples may be mitigated or eliminated on harder difficulties. I recall a really cool interview confirming as much, though, unfortunately, I'm getting old and can't help you there.
This was super fun to participate in. First time I've attempted anything resembling a speedrun, and I had no idea what I was getting into. Also cool to see that a little piece of my run made it into the video after all. ("HELP" was my character)
I like the tiny optimization in combat that Forsa does with estus cancels. Doesn't save too much time, especially in PvE, but that time saved from healing probably added up
Considering he had 20 seconds left, if he'd have died/had to refresh once or spent even just a few more seconds locked in combat due to getting estus punished, he would've failed that run. It definitely helped.

These challenges are always so impressive. I'd love to see a challenge where people have to get as many status effects on them at once as possible in 1 hour. So with poisoned, regeneration, increased stamina regen, etc.
This is such a great format to make speedrunning more accessible and exciting to watch. Showing the highlights and pointing out where the contestants differ in strategy was a ton of fun and makes you feel like you’re on the journey with them. Congratulations to the participants!

This is a great idea because dragonslayer armour is weak to magic(wrong) The competitor don't have fire pine resin (it costs more time) so they can only use magic resin(yes)
These challenges are a breath of fresh air in terms of souls content. I think the next challenge should be a Soul of Cinder run with a solo dagger. Pretty sure in this game there's no scaling whatsoever and I'd love to see someone try and shred the game with a butter knife as fast as humanly possible.
You should do one where it's either total enemies killed with bosses counted as 4 enemies or total drops picked up. I think that would be interesting to see.

Some of these events end up with everyone doing the exact same run, which is great for seeing who's fastest but I enjoy the variation this run has a lot more. I find it more interesting to see the creativity of players. I think less prep time for these challenges would result in a lot more of this.

Forsa didn't miss the firebomb, it's just to make the embered watcher not idle at the start, if you throw a bomb in his direction he input reads you and immediately start chasing you
Oh, gotcha that's really good to know. I'm not too heavily involved in the Speedrun community so I'm still learning a lot of the strats. If he hit the firebomb, that would make things faster though, right? Since he would run toward you and have less HP?
WOW! My wife and I are big fans of From Software since we discovered bloodborne last summer and these challenges are nothing short of spectacular to watch! It's truly amazing how well these players know these levels! Just goes to show just how good our species can get at something if we invest enough time into it. Truly amazing
I think that for future challenges you should add a "meme run" slot as well. They probably wouldn't win anything, but there'd at least be a small segment talking about the most "interesting" run that you saw through all the contestants. Like a guy who beat up regular chests but opened all the Mimic chests like normal, or the guy who decided to use the Greatclub instead of the twinblades.
I love this and I was actually already thinking of doing it! Maybe as a short segment at the end of the video or a third run alongside the other fastest two. Definitely going to implement this at some point moving forward and thanks for sharing this idea.

1 in the Ringed City, 2 in Archdragon Peak, 1 in the Undead Settlement, and I'd have to double check for the others. There may have been another in the Road of Sacrifices.
This is an achevement counting on all of the factors like, fighting all the bosses to get to the chess, mimics, the seconds it takes to pick up the items, you can't do any big glitches to get to the chess *This is a little exaggerated* like jumping over a giant valley to get to an area or to skip a boss, equipping everything so you can survive on your way to the chest, and that's all I xan think on top of my head. And remember. It's not a mistake✨ it's a masterpiece!✨

I'm fairly new, so I have no idea if you've done it already, but its always sounded cool to me since they are one of my favorite bosses [still annoying to fight] but I always wantes to know if they were capable of getting through. From your videos, it shouldn't be too unfair, I think. Anyways, love your content, keep it up!

daggers definitely have scaling and they can do good damage on top of letting you be more aggressive than any other weapon

That's what I had in mind for the unique enemies run
so basically farm the closest enemy near a bonfire? or limit to 1 kill per 1 enemy?

Always something new to learn in Dark Souls. That dragon quit will be handy.
If you fire an arrow at the right wyvern's leg, they will both die instantly. Not as useful for speedruns but it lets you loot the items freely.
